First up: Join data-expert Andy Cotgreave (ex-Tableau, Chart Chat-er, and co-author of The Big Book of Dashboards as well as the brand new Dashboards that Deliver) to hear 'Has AI Killed Dashboards?' In this compelling presentation, Andy will speak with the perspective he has gained from a multi-decade-long career in data viz & analytics to opine on the impact AI will have on BI (Business Intelligence). People and organizations have been looking for that 'silver bullet' to solve their problem of gaining accurate and timely business intelligence from their data to answer critical business questions for centuries, and Andy is skeptical that AI will soon, or perhaps ever, play that role.
Second up: Cooper Wenhua (Senior BI Developer from Aia Inc in Chengdu China) will dazzle us with the techniques he has spent huge amounts of time developing in Claude AI to create a way to migrate dashboards from one Business Intelligence platform to another. We are talking taking Tableau dashboards and, with relative ease, turning them into Power BI dashboards (in a day?? a week?? Cooper will tell us! But can you imagine....) OR Power BI dashboards into Snowflake Streamlit applications.
The possibilities are endless when a robot is doing all the tedious mechanical hard work behind the scenes...of course the proof is in the pudding, is it accurate post-migration? And that's what Cooper is prepared to demonstrate for us!
So thank you for your patience over this summer lull, but we returned on December 4 in a big way and will continue on a quarterly basis into 2026.

While working for a leading financial firm with over 10,000 employees and operations across various global regions, I observed several persistent challenges in their reporting process—commonly referred to as the month end reconciliation reporting. The finance team, though highly skilled, relied heavily on extensive Excel workbooks containing over 80 columns and 40 tabs. This manual, calculation-heavy approach consumed significant time and limited their ability to deliver timely insights. While the concept of using visualization tools was not new to the team, the sheer volume of data and the complexity of multiple reporting systems had long prevented meaningful progress toward modernization.To address these challenges, we initiated the migration of reports from Excel/Sharepoint to Tableau. The journey was far from simple. We encountered performance bottlenecks, inconsistencies in carryover balances, calculation discrepancies, database connectivity issues, and frequent data refresh failures. Yet, through this process, we not only delivered a robust and scalable reporting framework but also gained valuable insights into the realities of business intelligence implementation in large-scale financial environments.In this talk, I will share the key lessons learned from this transformation—covering practical strategies for overcoming reporting bottlenecks, optimizing visualization performance, and managing data complexity in Finance functions. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of reporting challenges in Finance domains and actionable takeaways for driving successful BI and visualization initiatives in large multinational organizations.
