On the pod this week, Rob and Ethan talk through that very rough 4-0 loss to Omaha and how it wasn't quite as bad as the final score would indicate. The weekend's results give Madison a very narrow path to the playoffs, and we go over the possibilities. And in Stoppage Time, some remembrances of Wisconsin's other pro soccer team and a reminder: the good old days are now.

After the match, we caught up with head coach Matt Glaeser, defender Jacob Crull (who was celebrated by the club and supporters on the occasion of his 100th appearance) and goalkeeper Wallis Lapsley.
Don't let the run time scare you! It's the LIVE SHOW!
First, though, Rob and Ethan break down Forward Madison's big 3-1 win over Portland and talk through what needs to happen in the next three weeks for Madison to make the playoffs. (Yes, we're talking playoffs again!)
And in stoppage time: it's the 10th season since Leicester City won the Premier League. Bill Connelly and Tom Hamilton have a good retrospective here.

Your Mingos scored early and earned a clean sheet to grind out a 1-0 over the worst team in the league. Hey, we'll take it. On the pod today, Rob and Ethan talk through that match, engage in more goalkeeper speculation, and sing the praises of a couple defenders in particular.
Then Rob teleports to Germany to chat with Fallen Leaves podcast host and Portland Hearts of Pine supporter Shadow Wulf about his interest in American lower division soccer, Portland's successful first season, and whether his support is a curse on clubs.
And in stoppage time: a television programming complaint.

Rob and Ethan talk through that dud of a match at Greenville and wonder aloud whether we'll see a goalkeeping change this week and/or a coaching change at the end of the season. Plus, Rob offers a fool-proof plan to beat Westchester this weekend.

Today we gather the Forward Madison Podcaster Brain Trust to address the question famously posed by Vince Lombardi: "WHAT the HELL's goin on out here?" Andrew Schmidt, Mitch Meerman and Grant Pieters of the New Dogma Live Audio Situation join Rob Chappell and Ethan Maurice of Talkin' Flock for a special late season crossover episode to look at the last two games and why one was so great and the other not; talk through puzzling roster decisions; look at the whole season and the whole Glaeser era; and wonder aloud whether the club will stick with him after (or for the rest of) this season.
After a massive and much-needed home win, we head to the Forward Club to chat with head coach Matt Glaeser, striker and two-time goal scorer Lucca Dourado and midfielder John Murphy, Jr.
Lots to talk about this week that has nothing to do with Forward Madison's inability to score or win games! Though we do get into that a bit also. This week:
- Will Sporting Cascades have the best brown shirts since the Caribous?
- Jason Ramos gets an extension
- Madison gets a new teenaged striker
- Madison also gets new Hunger-Games-inspired kits
- Madison loses a coach - should we read anything into that?
- We are still in the hunt for the Players Shield
After all that, United Soccer Lounge host Riley James talks about the origin of the show, why it focuses on USL, what it'll take for USL to overtake MLS and lots more.
And in stoppage time: what happens when racism hits a local club, and how this very podcast is involved.
Read Rob's story on that here.

We got a few minutes with Matt Glaeser after the 1-0 loss to Spokane last night. And hearing that John Pascarella is leaving us for Tampa Bay Rowdies, we thought we'd drop our last interview with him, from early last season. As is often the case with JP, it gets deep.
oh look another draw with no goals 🎉🥳
Seriously though Rob and Ethan have a few more thoughts about the W league announcement, an update to our LIVE PODCAST SPECTACULAR on September 15 (it's moving to a place Mingo fans will be more comfortable) and in Stoppage Time, a women's player to watch and a welcome upgrade at BSF.

Rob and Ethan talk through the 0-0 draw with AV Alta, including the positives on the defensive end and what could have been on the offensive end. We dig into the goal that wasn't, a pretty egregiously bad refereeing decision that most everybody in the stadium and watching on TV missed. Then Jack Goods from the 414 Footy podcast joins again to check in on the state of USL in Milwaukee and his experience at Breese Stevens Field on Saturday.

This week, Rob and Ethan talk through the 2-1 loss to Birmingham, the immediate impact of Isaac Angking, the much-improved mentality, and whether we can take any positives from the match. Then, it's a podcast crossover! Audio synergy! Aural convergance!
