My next guest on the Tea Time sofa is Olivier Award-winning playwright and screenwriter Morgan Lloyd Matthew. She is well-known for Emilia her play that was commissioned by The Globe and has now been optioned as a film. Her latest play ‘The Long Trick’s Over’ has been created in collaboration with the New Woseley theatre and is scheduled to tour the East of England in Spring 2022. The play looks at the various stages of grief, against the backdrop of a 53 mile swim from Dover to Calais. Produced by High Tide Theatre the production promises to be thought provoking and a testament to the fortitude of the human spirit. The play is at the New Wolseley from the 11th-15th February and thereafter is touring across 10 venues. Let’s find out more.

My next guest on the Tea Time sofa is Frazer Flintham playwright and screenwriter. His latest play is based on the book Penlee: The Loss of a Lifeboat by Michael Sagar-Fenton which is being performed on the 18th of December. It is an Original Theatre Company production and promises to capture the bravery of the RNLI volunteers on Solomon Browne who went out to rescue Union Star on that fateful night 40 years ago in southeast Cornwall. Frazer has written several entertaining plays and received a screenwriter's award in 2015 but never one quite as humbling as Into The Night the adaptation of Penlee. The production is a collaboration between The Curve Leicester the Liverpool everyman and playhouse and the English Touring Theatre. Siena is well known for her part in Adult Material and Oliver has a CV full of roles from James Bond to Shakespeare.
