Vision Pro vs. Galaxy XR: Samsung's HUGE Mistake! 😡 | Gemini 3 Rumors & Ubiquiti AI Key

Hello everyone, and welcome back to TABGEEKS Tech for Work! 💻 I'm Jesse Nowlin, and this week's show turned into a deep (and slightly ranty!) dive into the world of XR.

I finally did it... I bought a used Apple Vision Pro to compare against the Samsung Galaxy XR, and I have some strong opinions, especially about Samsung's massive ecosystem misstep that holds its new headset back.

We also cover the latest rumors about Google's Gemini 3, a first look at the powerful Gemini Enterprise for businesses, new Ubiquiti gear that just landed in the studio (hello, AI Key!), and a fantastic live Q&A with all of you. Thanks for the great questions!

In This Episode

XR Showdown: Apple Vision Pro vs. Samsung Galaxy XR

Why I finally bought a (used) Apple Vision Pro for $1900

My main goal: Can I actually work in VR/XR?

The AVP experience in the Apple ecosystem (it just works!)

My Big Rant: Samsung's huge mistake locking the Galaxy XR to Samsung laptops 😤

Comparing keyboards, setup (Google Workspace on Galaxy XR was a pain), and 4K-per-eye clarity

Shout-out to XREAL for its simple plug-and-play on any device

Google AI Updates

Rumors are swirling about Gemini 3 (coding & generative updates)

Elon's Grok V vs. Gemini 3

A first look at Gemini Enterprise: What it is and how to get it (it's a GCP product!)

How it connects to all your data (Salesforce, databases, etc.)

New Ubiquiti Gear!

First look at the Ubiquiti AI Key and its features

The new Ubiquiti NASPRO 8 (it's massive!)

My 19TB data migration challenge

Live Q&A & Tech Chat

Has the Galaxy XR gotten any OTA updates? (Spoiler: No)

Comparing to the Meta Quest 3 (I'm getting one on Black Friday!)

Is the Galaxy XR just a copy of Meta's Horizon OS?

Chrome OS for enterprise: My take vs. a coder's (VS Code, Android Studio)

Working in a browser on XR headsets (it's still clunky)

Sony's upcoming Android XR headset

Using XREAL glasses for serious work (head tracking, multiple monitors)

Google Chrome for Enterprise

Google's acquisition of Cameo (C-A-M-A-Y-O)

Streaming Windows apps (like desktop Excel) natively on Chrome OS

Space & Tech News

Blue Origin's successful rocket landing on a barge! 🚀

Apple's "Flight Ready" immersive experience on Vision Pro

2026 Mac lineup rumors (low-cost MacBook, OLED)

Amazon Project Kuiper is now "Amazon Leo" (Low Earth Orbit)

Channel Updates

What's next: Project Aura (X-Real), DJI Pocket 4(?), Promevo interview

Studio tour and rack rebuild coming soon!

Heads up: No live shows in January (family travel)

Thanks for watching! What are your thoughts on the XR race? Let me know in the comments!

Tech For Work by TABGEEKS
Ubiquiti G6 Pro Dome, Google Samsung Galaxy XR, Meta Oakley Vanguard Unboxings!

Welcome back to Tech for Work! I'm your host, Jesse Nowlin, and this week has been non-stop. I'm issuing a major correction on my Meta Glasses review, unboxing the massive Oakley Vanguards, and getting hands-on with the brand new Ubiquiti G6 Pro Dome camera. Plus, I'm discussing the Galaxy XR drama and the big AWS outage. Let's get into it! 🤓

  • Meta Glasses Update & Correction 🕶️

    • An apology to Meta: The transitional lenses do tint, just not very dark. I learned modern car windows with IR blocking prevent them from working inside a car.

    • Clarifying AR vs. VR: The Meta Glasses are more of a "heads-up display" (a floating screen) rather than true, world-aware Augmented Reality (AR).

    • My updated review: I'm still on the fence. I love the open-ear audio and WhatsApp notifications but am disappointed by the lens tint, indoor reflections, and lack of all third-party notifications.

    • News: Meta Glasses demos are coming to Verizon stores, and the LA Meta store reopening is delayed to Oct 31st (Halloween).

  • Oakley Vanguards Unboxing 📦

    • First look at the Oakley Vanguards (Meta collab).

    • These are enormous but feature polarized, very dark lenses (the opposite of the other pair!).

    • Key Features: IP67 waterproof, a center-mounted camera (vs. side on Ray-Bans), and replaceable lenses.

    • Audio: The speakers are phenomenal! They are 6 decibels louder than the standard Meta Ray-Bans, making them great for noisy environments (like my scooter test).

    • Case: The charging case is large and, unfortunately, does not fold flat.

  • Galaxy XR & Android XR Discussion 🤖

    • A viewer in the chat calls the new Samsung Galaxy XR "obsolete."

    • I discuss the high demand and my positive experience with the Android XR demo at Google I/O.

    • My plan: I'll be testing the Galaxy XR on upcoming flights for work (using a Windows laptop, as Mac screen sharing seems unsupported).

    • The future of XREAL's "Project Aura" will likely be a similar Android XR experience, but price will be the key to mass adoption.

  • Ubiquiti G6 Pro Dome Unboxing & Setup 📹

    • Hands-on with the new G6 Pro Dome camera.

    • Build Quality: It's all-metal, heavy, IP66 weatherproof, and IK10 tamper-resistant (basically bulletproof!).

    • Features: 4K sensor, 2.36x optical zoom, a large 1/1.2" CMOS sensor for great night vision, and a direct ethernet port (no pigtail!).

    • Setup: I adopt the camera into my UDM Pro Max and give a quick walkthrough of the UniFi Protect settings.

  • New Ubiquiti Camera Announcements 📣

    • G6 Pro Turret: A sleek new turret-style camera is coming in Jan 2026.

    • AI Multisensor 4: A beastly four-camera-in-one unit for high-security areas (like intersections or casinos), coming in December.

  • Tech News Roundup ⚡

    • AWS Outage: It's always DNS! I discuss the 18-hour outage caused by a failed automation.

    • Google Cloud Next 2026: Save the date! April 22-24 in Las Vegas.

    • Gemini Enterprise: A look at Google's new enterprise-grade AI, which can now tap into third-party data like Salesforce.

    • Ubiquiti World Conference: I'll be in Miami for the conference—let me know if you're going!

What tech caught your eye this week? Are you picking up the Meta Glasses or waiting for the Galaxy XR? Let me know in the comments!
