Ella Jungers (Gr8), Kaitlyn Schloman (Gr10), and Nevada Anderson (Gr8) explore the teen view of depression. This is an assignment from their 8th grade health class around supports to Mental Health. These students share their own experiences with Depression through personal challenges and triumphs.
St. James 11th graders Milynn Hung and Almarelli Sanchez Solorio explore being a newcomer to America. Mr. Mike Endreson, a St. James High School Spanish Teacher, walks them through a conversation about learning a new language, starting in a new school, learning English as their second language, and getting involved in their school.
Milynn is a student from China, and Almarelli is from Mexico. Mr. Endreson is an excellent ally to the newcomers in St. James and helps show many of our English Language Learners the ropes and what it takes to be successful in a new environment.
Avery Haler and Hayleigh Lingbeek are back to discuss considerations for what to do once high school is over. They are joined by special guest Brittney Karschnik - a 1st year ELA teacher from St. James High School, to discuss PSEO, changing majors, the benefits of community college versus taking a gap year, considering going straight to the workforce, organization, and mid-life career changes. Great conversation on things to consider as you reach the end of high school!
Keyana Haler and Jacey Swanson are joined by Dan Wolfe, Gustavus Adolphus College, Associate Head Women's Basketball Coach, and Health and Exercise Science Teacher.
