Episode #1116 A bonus half hour allowed for a little extra Can-con Christmas music before jumping into yet another tribute to a fallen music icon. Lately, we've had to pay tribute to Todd Snider and Raul Malo, and we were hoping to not have to do it for a while, but the sad news arrived that Joe Ely had left us so an extended tribute was in order once again. Joe has been a pillar of the Texas roots scene for decades and has dabbled in a wide variety of styles and worked with just about everybody over the course of his career. He was also another gem of a human being. He will be missed but his many musical contributions will surely never be forgotten. It would be impossible to fully cover the man's career in the time we had, but we heard a cross-section of his solo material, work with others, others covering his songs, him covering others' songs, and more! playlist: https://wp.me/p1lizT-hoC
