Good Afternoon Folks,

A little later than usual, work has been very busy, however I did manage to record a short episode bringing my thoughts around the Chelsea game and my takings on GW13 of the Premier League.

I am aware that since this episode was recorded and subsequently released, Arsenal recorded a very edgy 2-0 win over Brentford midweek. COYG!

Still 5 points clear!

Hey folks!

We are back!! And the Premier League fixtures didn't disappoint.

It would’ve felt almost irresponsible not to discuss Arsenal’s dreamlike dismantling of Spurs, also, it gives me the perfect moment to outline some of the exciting changes coming to the pod! This weekend's action delivered absolute chaos, shockers and statement wins across all 10 fixtures.

Chelsea’s professional victory at Burnley, Bournemouth’s dramatic late rescue act, and Brighton’s comeback capped by a heroic penalty save.

Fulham left it late, Forest stunned the champions at Anfield, and Palace gave Wolves’ new boss a brutal welcome.

Newcastle dented City’s title charge with a Harvey Barnes blitz, before Villa turned it around at Elland Road and Arsenal blew Spurs away with Eze’s historic North London Derby hat-trick.

And Everton’s gritty, improbable win at Old Trafford.

Just like Haaland we're into double figures!!

In this weeks episode Jay and I discuss a weekend that reshaped the Premier League storylines.

Arsenal’s control and composure under Arteta look title-ready.

Whilst Manchester City and Liverpool both drop points in their respective fixtures which has slightly opened the door just a little wider for their rivals.

Newcastle found late heroics again at St James’ Park, Sunderland impress late and Bournemouth continue to fly high in 2nd place.

Elsewhere, Spurs dominate, West Ham’s crisis continues to build and Burnley’s comeback win could signal a shift in their season’s momentum, leaving Wolves, stuck at the bottom.

And plenty more from the rest of the weekends fixtures.

    Gameweek 5 didn’t disappoint.

We look into the Merseyside Derby at Anfield, where Liverpool side who refuse to lose edged Everton 2–1. Brighton and Spurs shared four goals in a thrilling 2–2 draw.

At the other end of the table, Burnley and Forest battled to a 1–1, while Palace snatched a big London win over West Ham. Over at Molineux, Leeds were clinical in their 3–1 victory against Wolves, and in West London, Fulham outclassed Brentford with a commanding 3–1 result.

Ten Acre: A Football Podcast Episode 3

The Premier League’s most expensive summer window everhas just closed, but the big story before the deals was Nottingham Forest parting ways with Nuno Espírito Santo.

After just nine months in charge, the Portuguese manager leaves amid frustration over results, direction, and anunsettled squad.

With Forest searching for stability, the timing ofNuno’s departure raises questions about whether the club can build a sustainable future in a league where spending power increasingly dictates survival.

From there, we dive into the £3 billion that PremierLeague clubs splashed this summer.

Liverpool led the way with £442 million spent, including blockbuster arrivals like Isak, Wirtz, and Ekitike but have they built a title-winning front line, or just piled pressure on themselves?

Arsenal weren’t far behind with a net spend of £251million, bringing in Gyökeres, Eze, and Zubimendi amongst others.

Chelsea, meanwhile, posted a surprisingly small netspend of £9.5 million after heavy sales, sparking debate over whether this was shrewd business or the fallout of past transfer mistakes.

We also look at the shock departures and arrivals:Newcastle cashing in £125 million for Isak, Jadon Sancho’s fall from grace and move to Aston Villa, and Manchester United turning to Sesko and Mbeumo to fix their attacking woes.

Mid-table sides like Brentford and Brighton have seenstars picked off, are they being hollowed out to the point where competitiveness suffers?

    This episodes big question

Which club really had the best window and which oneblew it?

Is the spending gap between top clubs and mid-tablesides now too big to bridge?

With so much talent coming in from the Bundesligaand Ligue 1, is the Premier League becoming too reliant on foreign markets?

Should Marc Guéhi have forced through his Liverpoolmove, or was staying at Palace the wiser choice?

Are clubs chasing names and price tags, or buildingbalanced squads for the long term?

And finally: which deadline-day deal will we look backon as season-defining?
