What does it mean for us to self-care in our modern world where we spend much time serving others and being part of family and friend groups? In this podcast we explore the range of aspects and techniques that we can use, from sleep and digital detoxing, to gardening and controlling negative thoughts. Addressing aspects of our past and our behaviour can give deep insight into how to honour ourselves. We can move beyond labels that society attach to supposedly bad traits – and learn about what the different aspects of ourselves can teach us. Remember: emotional self-care is tied to physical and spiritual self-care – the mind, body and spirit are intertwined in all of us.
How quickly in a ‘developed’, industrialised urban environment we lose our relationship and connection to the natural world. The opportunity to reconnect can be revelatory. Contemplating the miracles of life; from the seed and egg, watching life unfold as we grow a plant, listening to nature’s rhythms, earthing through touch, and bringing nature into the home. Plants are our oxygen and our love for nature will help preserve it all for future generations.
In this second Episode we will talk more about why we make mistakes even though we know we are making them. A huge topic that we will focus on is food. How we know what we need to eat, but yet still choose not to. We will talk about intuitive eating and Mary Anne will share with us some tricks and hints that have helped her in her journey of mindfully eating.
