What's a Sheriff to do when a Tiger is on the loose in his foggy little town? Why, argue with his daughter if he should shoot it or not! In our season finale, we cover "A Tiger Walks", which is mainly a story on bad people getting what they deserve, enrobed in a plot about family tensions, free will, and wild accents. If you listen to the Walt Disney Company, the Treasure of Matecumbe is about one child's search for buried treasure in the Florida everglades. The actual film, however, was more of a "how-to-scam-folks-in-1860's-Kentucky" tutorial, with very little treasure hunting involved. Davy Crockett was a real human being, one who almost lived up to the tall tales that sprung up after his death. In the 1950's, Walt Disney turned some of these tales into a very popular TV show, and then later cut them up into the 1955 classic, "Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier". This move would spark the coon skin cap fetish amongst most school-aged boys, and cementing Davy's legacy in the minds of boomers everywhere. Absent of the overindulgent gore that many horror films had back then (and today), TWITW relies on its setting and soundtrack to get you in the spirit of things. This movie is a wacky ride through the wild west, covering every square inch of your standard Western tropes like fist fights, shootouts, robberies, and more shootouts - but all with that classic Disney twist.
