Led by Taruk, the three companions head to Workingar—home of the Orcs, where Bri and Myrtle are taken by the she-Orc Captain. Who has a history, a short temper, and a big hammer.

Bri, Myrtle, and Ultovin face the wrath of the Dragon as they are hunted at sea. In the Bandit Wood, Iriklas, Taruk, and Jenquo are among thieves. As they fall under siege, they discover there is far more to them.

Bri and Myrtle are trapped between an incapacitated Dragon and Master Sorseer. Meanwhile Iriklas, Jenquo, and Taruk encounter a band of thieves as merry as they are deadly.

Iriklas and Jenquo face the consequences of parting from the Voyagers, Nurang teaches Bri and Myrtle why Dragons do not suffer the whims of mortals.
