In this powerful, chortling and emotional episode, Moz DJ sits down with iconic gospel artist Phyllis Mbuthia—a woman of deep faith, an inspiring journey, and a heart full of humour. From growing up in a tough environment to becoming a household name in gospel music, Phylis opens up like never before. She shares how, at 9 years old, she discovered her home was involved in chang’aa brewing—her father being the number one customer. With both parents in conflict, Phyllis and her siblings were left to fend for themselves, responsible for finding food and paying rent for two years. Sometimes, they survived on nothing but spinach.Despite the struggles, Phylis found strength in faith. One day, she made a bold declaration, knelt in prayer, and fasted for two days, refusing to ever go back to that life. Her education journey was full of setbacks, repeating Class 4 multiple times, but her persistence paid off. By Class 8, her hard work and transformation were so evident that her teacher used her paper to mark the rest of the class.Watch, be inspired, and share Phylis Mbuthia's journey.#PhylisMbuthia #MozDJ #GospelJourney #FaithAndResilience #KenyanStories #RealTalk #OvercomingStruggles #GospelMusic #Inspiration #Testimony #AfricanStoriesAnd don’t forget to follow @TheDJMozPodcast for highlights and inspiring moments from this and other episodes!📲Connect with Us:* Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedjmozpodcast?igsh=MTNpNDl3MTl4Y3dlNA==* Follow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thedjmozpodcast?_t=8q43tbOqGog&_r=1* Join our WhatsApp channel: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va9NUDF6GcG9I9zHdD1qIf you’d like to support the DJ Moz Podcast and help us continue creating great content, consider 1.
