episode 102 : the iron couple

We welcomed husband and wife full Ironman duo Nathan Jon Sing and Abigail Low to the red seats this week.

For most of us doing a Full Ironman is a daunting task in itself, but try Abigail and Nathan for some reason decided in January to sign up for Busselton Ironman this year without ever even completing a sprint distant triathlon before. In Abigail's case, she didn't even know how to swim freestyle and had never ridden a road bike.

Listen to their refreshingly candid stories on the real struggles of mid pack age groupers attempting to go from Zero to Hero in one calendar year.

Far from elite athletes, the both of them have stories that we all can relate to and is a reminder to us all that its not always about getting onto the podium or having the fastest time... its about the journey, the stories along the way, the trials and tribulations as we work towards the finish line.

We discuss very real issues that triathletes have such as fueling, bike handling, pacing, the fear of open water swimming, dealing with the weather and all the thrilling ups and the disappointing downs within a race.

who's idea was it? which one is more motivated to train? what was it like training and racing with your spouse? which one of them peed while on the bike during the race? how did they train while both have busy careers? did they have doubts they could do it? we discuss it all

episode 94 : the warrior within

We welcomed a very special guest, a runner, triathlete, coach and cancer survivor Tammi Lim to the red seats this week.

Since October is breast cancer awareness month, we sat down with Tammi to hear her story of grace, resilience and strength as she tackled the toughest race of her life: beating cancer.

As a seasoned triathlete and distance runner, Tammi has accomplished it all, podiumed at races from Ironman, 70.3, ultramarathons, marathons. half marathons... you name it, she's done it. But at a routine health screening in 2019 her world was turned upside down as she was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called ET, short for essential thrombocythemia.

Treatable but not curable, Tammi took it in her stride and continued to go strength the strength athletic journey and continuing to build her own brand of personal training and coaching all the while competing at a very high level, hitting PBs at events such at T100 Singapore, marathons and half marathons around the region until lightning struck again with a diagnosis of breast cancer in 2025.

Having cancer twice before you've even turned 40 would break anyone, but instead of letting it define her, Tammi as tackled it so gracefully with a quiet strength and no nonsense attitude, tackling it as she would have any other major race that she prepared for in the past with strength, faith and conviction.
