While Ryan fights his personal battle, the other Rangers struggle against Troika, eventually gaining the upper hand with the introduction of the experimental Battle Boosters. Diabolico, enraged by Troika's defeat, grows to monstrous size, leading to a desperate Megazord battle. Ryan, free from the curse, arrives in the Max Solarzord to aid his team. They combine their Megazords to form the Lightspeed Solarzord and ultimately destroy Diabolico. However, this victory is short-lived as the Star Power released from Diabolico's destruction empowers Impus, leading to the arrival of Queen Bansheera and foreshadowing an even greater challenge for the Rangers.
