In this episode, we’re diving into Five Women Wearing the Same Dress by Alan Ball—a fast, sharp, and unexpectedly heartfelt comedy set during a chaotic Southern wedding.
Cast members Jessica Iannitello and Emilee Carroll join us to talk character dynamics, comic timing, emotional depth, and what it’s like to wear the same dress on stage night after night.
We talk favorite lines, rehearsal chaos, staying grounded in the moment, and why sometimes the best moments happen offstage.

Inspired by Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, this episode unpacks the beautiful chaos of weddings with a group of guests who’ve seen it all — from the altar to the afterparty. Alan Ball’s play puts five bridesmaids in one room during a lavish Southern wedding, and we channel that same energy for a roundtable full of honesty, humor, and hot takes.
Joined by Tessa (married and full of wisdom), Shannon (bridesmaid extraordinaire), and Karter (newly engaged and glowing), we explore:
💍 Something Old: The wildest stories and cringiest traditions from weddings past
🥂 Something New: What modern weddings are getting right — and very wrong
🎁 Something Gifted: The best and worst bridal/wedding presents we’ve seen
💙 Something Blue: What gets us emotional — the moments that caught us off guard or stuck with us
Whether you’re planning a wedding, recovering from one, or just love good stories about people in formal wear losing their minds, this one’s for you.
🎭 Five Women Wearing the Same Dress opens soon at The Forst Inn in Tisch Mills, WI. For tickets and performance dates, visit theforstinn.org and support local theatre that’s as bold, funny, and unforgettable as the weddings we love to dissect.
In this episode of The Forst Inn Features, hosts Thomas Moore and Kevin Sievert (who also directed the production) sit down with cast members Aubrey Duncan (Nora Helmer) and Cory McElroy (Torvald Helmer), a real-life married couple portraying one of theater’s most iconic—and strained—stage marriages.
Together, we explore the emotional complexity of performing as Nora and Torvald while navigating the irony of doing so alongside your actual spouse. From their approach to breaking down Ibsen’s text to the way they challenged and supported each other in rehearsal, this conversation offers a layered look into character work, direction, and trust.
It’s an honest and playful discussion that reveals just how much life and art can blur on stage.
🎭 A Doll’s House is now playing at The Forst Inn in Tisch Mills, Wisconsin.

DRINK THE JUICE, SHELBY! The Forst Inn is producing the classic "Steel Magnolias", a poignant comedy-drama by Robert Harling! Host Kevin James Sievert cozies up with cast members Megan Schauer, Emilee Carroll, Claran LaViolette and Shannon Paige in VirtualLand to talk about the iconic movie, the girl power of an all female ensemble, and horror stories about bad haircuts!
ABOUT STEEL MAGNOLIAS:
The action is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, ("I’m not crazy, I’ve just been in a bad mood for forty years"); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.

Teen Angst, Identity, Sexuality, and the world of the Peanuts Gang collide in this episode, just in time for Pride Month. HAPPY PRIDE!
Synopsis: When CB’s dog dies from rabies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife. His best friend is too burnt out to provide any coherent speculation; his sister has gone goth; his ex-girlfriend has recently been institutionalized; and his other friends are too inebriated to give him any sort of solace. But a chance meeting with an artistic kid, the target of this group’s bullying, offers CB a peace of mind and sets in motion a friendship that will push teen angst to the very limits. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that’s both haunting and hopeful.
Directed by Lisa Heili.
