In this episode, Tom Bruett (he/him) sits down with Dustin Oliver(he/him), the creator of boy meets therapy, to talk honestly about what it really takes to become a therapist - especially a queer therapist building a career in today’s mental health landscape.
Dustin opens up about the messy, beautiful, and often overwhelming process of entering the field, why accessible mental health content for queer people is desperately needed, and how his podcast came to be. Together, they explore why using real language in therapy matters, how social media shapes modern mental health conversations, and what it’s like to learn, research, and grow in real time while creating content that actually resonates.
If you're a queer person interested in therapy, an aspiring therapist yourself, or someone who loves meaningful conversations about mental health, you’ll want to watch this one.
