An entire town… gone. Without a trace. No signs, no warnings. Just silence. This is the story of Cold Sparrow.
Twenty-four years ago, the peaceful town of Cold Sparrow became the center of one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in modern history. Every resident vanished. Among them, the enigmatic billionaire Benjamin Veers, whose strange ways made him an icon of intrigue. The town, once forgotten, now infamous. The questions? Endless. The answers? Nonexistent.
For over two decades, investigators have been left baffled—cults, kidnappings, disappearances—none have led them closer to the truth. But now, three celebrated private investigators—famous for bringing down one of the most dangerous cults in history—have been called upon to tackle this mystery. Known for taking on the cases no one else could solve, they’re determined to uncover what really happened in Cold Sparrow.
Yet, the deeper they dig, the darker the whispers become. Rumours swirl of something far more sinister than anyone ever imagined. Could the mystery of Cold Sparrow be tied to forces that reach far beyond our world? Could it be linked to something… infernal?
Some mysteries, once uncovered, may be better left untouched. Cold Sparrow: A town that disappeared… but something still lingers in the shadows.
The investigation begins… now.

Mike Walters discovers a mysterious online game called WOE.BEGONE. The first challenge isn’t even that hard. It will probably stay that way, right?
There are so many ways to support the show. You can write well-wishes on a scrap of paper and bury that paper under the tallest tree in the neighborhood. You can leave a 5 star review on Apple Podcasts. You can support me on Patreon at patreon.com/woe_begone and get early access to episodes, instrumentals, and more. You can get the album WOE.BEGONE: Music From the Podcast Season 1 on Bandcamp at woebegonepod.bandcamp.com or for free if you’re a $5/mo patron. After a series of traumatic events, including losing his job, Nate and his dog Bella move across country to the East Coast. Nate documents the whole process, as he seeks to try something new and have a fresh start.
The new house appears perfect: huge, loads of room, a yard for Bella to run in… and the rent is unbelievably low. But there’s something not quite right. The house feels… off. Knocking noises in the nighttime, and a locked room in the basement, filled with letters about strange occurrences and ghostly figures.
Who wrote the letters? And why are they all stored in the cellar? Join Nate, his dog, and his friend Steve as they search for answers.
