Hi, it's Christian here. I was born into the Catholic faith. I believed in Jesus because my parents did. And then I grew up. The world showed me many things, and I didn't really see God hanging around. I was building a good life for myself, so apparently I didn't need Him. Or so I thought. One day, it all came tumbling down. Guess who I met at the bottom? Jesus. And boy, was I angry. I started getting to know Him because I wanted to blame Him for what happened in my life. It turns out that I misunderstood a lot of things about Jesus. And myself. I share my journey with my brother, Alan.

Hi, it's Christian. I try to read the most accurate version possible. For the more difficult passages, I refer to versions that may be less accurate, but more readable. Here are my preferences:

  • English Standard Version (ESV): My main bible, since it aims to stick to the original Greek and Hebrew
  • New International Version (NIV): Aimed for people who are able to read the New York Times. My mom's main bible
  • New Living Translation (NLT): Aimed for people who tend to hear the Bible read aloud instead of read by sight. My sister's main bible
  • EasyEnglish Translation (EASY): "It is ideal for people who are learning English or speak English as a foreign language." (https://www.easyenglish.bible/bible/easy/)
  • The New American Bible, Revised Edition (NABRE): Contains Catholic books. Catholics use 72 while Protestants use 66.
