Hailing from Jammu, he is one of the few players from that region to have reached all the way to the top and he has won numerous domestic trophies. Arun plans to establish his own football academy to create a platform for young players to shine by receiving the necessary training and exposure.

He also won the I-League with Churchill Brothers as a Technical Director, a position the club gave him because of him not having the required A-License that the league rules mandated. Subhash Bhowmick was a highly successful player for the Indian national team, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. He was a member of the Indian football team that won the Bronze medal in the Asian Games in 1970. He also represented India in the Merdeka Cup and Pesta Sukan Tournament.
