It: Welcome to Derry is an American supernatural horror television series based on Stephen King's 1986 novel It. Serving as a prequel to the films It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019), the series was developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, all of whom were involved in the It films. The series stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Clara Stack, Amanda Christine, and Mikkal Karim-Fidler, with Bill Skarsgård reprising his role as Pennywise from the films and serving as an executive producer on the series.

Andy and Barbara Muschietti along with Fuchs began developing an It television series in March 2022. After receiving a production commitment later that November, Fuchs and Brad Kane were hired as showrunners. The series was greenlit in February 2023, with Andy Muschietti attached to direct multiple episodes, including the pilot episode, and Fuchs as a writer. Casting began later in April, including Skarsgård being cast in May 2024. Filming for the series began in May 2023 but was halted that July due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming ended in August 2024.

It: Welcome to Derry premiered on HBO on October 26, 2025. The series received generally positive reviews from critics for its production value, direction, opening title sequence, and performances (particularly those of Skarsgård, Chalk, and the younger actors), but received criticism for its visual effects and some writing choices.

Stranger Things is set in the fictional rural town of Hawkins, Indiana, in the 1980s. The nearby Hawkins National Laboratory ostensibly performs scientific research for the United States Department of Energy but also secretly experiments with the paranormal and supernatural, sometimes with human test subjects. They have inadvertently created a portal to an alternate dimension they refer to as the Upside Down, whose presence begins to affect the residents of Hawkins in unusual ways.[11][12]

The first season begins in November 1983 when Will Byers is abducted by a creature from the Upside Down, dubbed the "Demogorgon". His mother Joyce, Police Chief Jim Hopper, and a group of volunteers search for him. A young psychokinetic girl named Eleven escapes from the laboratory and is found by Will's friends, Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Lucas Sinclair. Eleven befriends and assists them in their efforts to find Will. Mike's older sister Nancy and Will's older brother Jonathan learn about the Demogorgon that kidnapped Will and the existence of the Upside Down. [13]

The second season is set eleven months later, in October 1984. Will has been rescued, but he begins having premonitions of the fall of Hawkins caused by a creature in the Upside Down. When it is discovered that Will is still being possessed by an entity from the Upside Down, his friends and family learn that anything connected to the Upside Down is part of a hive mind called the Mind Flayer. Lucas earns the affection of new classmate Max Mayfield, while Dustin teams up with Nancy's ex-boyfriend Steve Harrington to fend off a horde of adolescent Demogorgons, which soon attack the rest of their friends.[14]

The third season is set nine months later, in the days leading up to the Fourth of July celebration in 1985. The new Starcourt Mall has become the center of attention for Hawkins residents. Hopper adopts Eleven, and becomes increasingly concerned about her relationship with Mike. Dustin, Steve and his coworker Robin Buckley, and Lucas's younger sister Erica discover that a secret Soviet laboratory underneath Starcourt seeks to open the gateway to the Upside Down. Meanwhile, the Mind Flayer possesses Max's stepbrother Billy Hargrove and sends its vessels made of melted flesh.[15][16]

The fourth season is set eight months later, in March 1986. The Byers family and a de-powered Eleven have moved to Lenora, California for a fresh start. In Hawkins, a being from the Upside Down—later dubbed Vecna—kills teenagers in Hawkins to open gates between the two worlds, and has targeted Max as his next victim. Planning to stop Vecna, Dr. Sam Owens takes Eleven to a facility to help her regain her powers. Joyce and Murray Bauman fly to Russia to rescue Hopper from the Gulag in Kamchatka. Vecna reveals to Nancy and Eleven that he was the murderous first test subject at the Hawkins Laboratory, who took control of the Mind Flayer after he was sent to the Upside Down by Eleven.

The fifth and final season is set in the fall of 1987. The group seeks to find and kill Vecna after the Rifts opened in Hawkins. The mission becomes complicated when the military arrives in Hawkins to hunt Eleven and when Nancy and Mike's younger sister Holly is kidnapped by Vecna.

On November 9, in Palm Springs, Nyles wakes up and fails to consummate sex with his girlfriend Misty. That evening, Nyles attends a wedding reception for Tala and Abe. There, he bonds with the maid of honor, Tala's depressed half-sister Sarah. Nyles and Sarah leave the party to have sex in the nearby desert. As he undresses, Nyles is hit by an arrow shot by an assailant. The injured Nyles crawls into a cave, warning Sarah not to follow him. Concerned for Nyles, Sarah follows him and is sucked into a vortex.

Sarah wakes up and realizes that it is November 9 again. She confronts Nyles, and he explains that by following him into the cave, Sarah has become stuck in a time loop with him; falling asleep or dying resets the loop, repeating November 9. Nyles reveals that the man who shot him, Roy, is from the wedding and that Nyles inadvertently trapped him in the time loop. For revenge, Roy sometimes hunts down Nyles, as he enjoys putting Nyles through pain even though his "deaths" are only temporary. Sarah tries various methods to escape the loop, but is unsuccessful. Nyles, having already been in the loop for a long time, has become complacent and carefree, abandoning hope of escape.

Sarah resigns herself to her fate and adopts Nyles' carefree and reckless lifestyle. Nyles and Sarah become close, and they begin to look forward to their days together, where they are free to do anything without consequence.

One night, Nyles and Sarah camp out in the desert, get high, and have sex. The day after, Sarah sleeps in and is woken up by Abe, with whom she had sex on November 8, the night before the wedding. Guilt-ridden, Sarah refuses to talk to Nyles about their previous night, expressing nihilism about their life in the loop. After being pulled over by Roy disguised as a cop, Sarah runs him over. Sarah and Nyles argue, leading Nyles to admit that he had sex with Sarah many times in the loop, something he previously lied about. An angry Sarah starts avoiding Nyles.

Nyles feels lost without Sarah and spends days aimlessly moping, discovering Abe and Sarah's affair in the process. One day, Nyles visits Roy at his home in Irvine. Having now experienced a painful injury at the hands of Sarah, Roy realizes what he's put Nyles through, and they reconcile. Meanwhile, Sarah spends her days studying to become an expert in quantum physics and general relativity. After some experimentation, she believes that exploding oneself in the cave will break the time loop. Sarah offers Nyles a chance to escape with her, but he confesses his love for her and asks if they can stay in the loop together forever. Sarah refuses, resolved to try her escape plan without him.

Sarah attends the wedding one last time, giving a heartfelt speech to Tala, and then travels to the cave with explosives. Nyles has a change of heart, and he rushes to the cave to leave with Sarah. He states that he would rather die with her in an explosion than remain in the loop alone. Sarah reciprocates his feelings, and they kiss in the cave, as she presses the detonator. The two then relax in the pool of a nearby house, which Nyles had shown Sarah during one of their loops. The residents return and catch them in the pool, which seems to indicate that the plan has worked and it is now November 10.

Dom Cobb and Arthur are "extractors" who perform corporate espionage using experimental dream-sharing technology to infiltrate their targets' subconscious and extract information. Their latest target, Saito, is impressed with Cobb's ability to layer multiple dreams within each other. He offers to hire Cobb for the ostensibly impossible job of implanting an idea into a person's subconscious; performing "inception" on Robert Fischer, the son of Saito's competitor Maurice Fischer, with the idea to dissolve his father's company. In return, Saito promises to clear Cobb's criminal status, allowing him to return home to his children.

Cobb accepts the offer and assembles his team: a forger named Eames, a chemist named Yusuf, and a college student named Ariadne. Ariadne is tasked with designing the dream's architecture, something Cobb himself cannot do for fear of being sabotaged by his mind's projection of his late wife, Mal. Maurice Fischer dies, and the team sedates Robert Fischer into a three-layer shared dream on an airplane to America bought by Saito. Time on each layer runs slower than the layer above, with one member staying behind on each to perform a music-synchronized "kick" (using the French song "Non, je ne regrette rien") to awaken dreamers on all three levels simultaneously.

The team abducts Robert in a city on the first level, but unknown to any team member, his subconscious projections, trained to anticipate such a scenario, attack them. After Saito is wounded, Cobb reveals that while dying in the dream would usually awaken dreamers, Yusuf's sedatives will instead send them into "Limbo": a world of infinite subconscious. Eames impersonates Robert's godfather, Peter Browning, to introduce the idea of an alternate will to dissolve the company.

Cobb explains to Ariadne that he and Mal entered Limbo while experimenting with dream-sharing, experiencing fifty years in one night due to the time dilation with reality. After waking up, Mal still believed she was dreaming. Attempting to "wake up," she committed suicide and framed Cobb for her murder to force him to do the same. Cobb fled the U.S., leaving his children behind.

Yusuf drives the team around the first level as they are sedated into the second level, a hotel dreamed by Arthur. Cobb persuades Robert that Browning has kidnapped him to stop the dissolution and that Cobb is a defensive projection, leading Robert to another third level deeper as part of a ruse to enter Robert's subconscious.

In the third level, the team infiltrates an alpine fortress with a projection of Maurice inside, where the inception itself can be performed. However, Yusuf performs his kick too soon by driving off a bridge, forcing Arthur and Eames to improvise a new set of kicks synchronized with them hitting the water by rigging an elevator and the fortress, respectively, with explosives. Mal then appears and kills Robert before he can be subjected to the inception; he and Saito are subsequently lost in Limbo, forcing Cobb and Ariadne to rescue them in time for Robert's inception and Eames's kick. Cobb reveals that during their time in Limbo, Mal refused to return to reality; Cobb had to convince her it was only a dream, accidentally incepting in her the belief that the real world was still a dream.

In 1981 a feather lands at a bus stop in Savannah, Georgia, where Forrest Gump recounts his life story to strangers on a bus bench.

In 1950s Alabama, Forrest is fitted with leg braces to correct a curved spine. His mother runs a boarding house out of their home. Among their tenants is Elvis Presley, who incorporates Forrest's jerky dance movements into his performances. On his first day of school, Forrest befriends a girl named Jenny Curran.

Forrest is often bullied because of his physical disability and low intelligence. While fleeing from several bullies, his leg braces break off, revealing Forrest to be a very fast runner. This talent eventually allows him to receive a football scholarship at the University of Alabama in 1963, where he is coached by Bear Bryant, and witnesses Governor George Wallace's Stand in the Schoolhouse Door, during which he returns a dropped book to Vivian Malone Jones. Forrest becomes a top kick returner, is named to the All-American team, and meets President John F. Kennedy at the White House.

After graduating college in 1966, Forrest is drafted into the U.S. Army where he befriends Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue, who convinces Forrest to go into the shrimping business with him after their service. They arrive in Vietnam in 1967 and serve with the 9th Infantry Division in the Mekong Delta. Their platoon is ambushed during a patrol, Bubba is killed in action, and Forrest saves several wounded platoon mates – including his lieutenant, Dan Taylor. Forrest is awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism by President Lyndon B. Johnson.

At the anti-war March on the Pentagon rally, Forrest meets Abbie Hoffman and briefly reunites with Jenny, who has been living a hippie lifestyle. He also develops a talent for ping-pong, and becomes a sports celebrity as he competes against Chinese teams in ping-pong diplomacy, earning him an interview alongside John Lennon on The Dick Cavett Show, influencing the song "Imagine". He spends the 1971 New Year's Eve in New York City with Dan, who lost his legs in Vietnam and has become deeply embittered. Forrest meets President Richard Nixon, who grants him a room in the Watergate Hotel, where he unwittingly exposes the Watergate scandal.

Discharged from the Army, Forrest returns to Alabama and endorses a ping-pong paddle manufacturer, using the earnings to buy a shrimping boat in Bayou La Batre, fulfilling his promise to Bubba. Dan joins Forrest in 1974, and their lack of success changes when their boat becomes the sole survivor of Hurricane Carmen. They create the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Dan reconciles himself to his disabilities, and finally thanks Forrest for saving his life. Forrest returns home to his mother as she dies of cancer. Dan invests in Apple Computer and the two become millionaires, but Forrest also shares their earnings with the community and Bubba's family.

Jenny returns to stay with Forrest in 1976, recovering from years of child abuse, drugs, and prostitution. When Forrest proposes to her, she tells him she loves him and the two have sex, but she leaves the next morning. Heartbroken, Forrest spends the next three years in a relentless cross-country run.

In 1947, Portland, Maine, banker Andy Dufresne arrives at Shawshank State Prison to serve two consecutive life sentences for murdering his wife and her lover. He is befriended by Ellis Boyd "Red" Redding, a contraband smuggler serving a life sentence, who procures for him a rock hammer and a large poster of Rita Hayworth. Assigned to work in the prison laundry, Andy is frequently raped by "the Sisters" gang, led by Bogs Diamond.

In 1949, Andy overhears the captain of the guards, Byron Hadley, complaining about being taxed on an inheritance and offers to help him shelter the money legally. After the Sisters beat Andy to near-death, Hadley cripples Bogs, who is subsequently transferred to a minimum security hospital; Andy is not attacked again. Warden Samuel Norton assigns Andy to the prison's decrepit library, ostensibly to assist elderly inmate Brooks Hatlen, but in reality, to use Andy's financial expertise in managing the warden's and other prison staff's finances. Andy also starts writing weekly letters to the state legislature, requesting funding to improve the library.

Brooks is paroled in 1954 after serving 50 years, but cannot adjust to the outside world and eventually hangs himself. After years of Andy's ceaseless letters, the legislature sends a library donation that includes a recording of The Marriage of Figaro; Andy plays an excerpt over the public address system, experiencing a moment of personal freedom before he is punished with solitary confinement. After his release, Andy explains to a dismissive Red that hope is what gets him through his sentence. In 1963, Norton begins exploiting prison labor for public works, profiting by undercutting skilled labor costs and receiving bribes. Andy launders the money using the alias "Randall Stephens".

In 1965, Andy and Red befriend Tommy Williams, a young inmate convicted of burglary. Andy helps Tommy pass his General Educational Development exam, and Tommy later reveals that his cellmate at another prison confessed to committing the murders for which Andy was convicted. When Andy informs Norton, the warden refuses to act. Although Andy promises to keep the money laundering a secret, Norton has Hadley kill Tommy under the guise of an escape attempt and sends Andy to solitary confinement. Norton then threatens to destroy the library, strip Andy of guard protection, and transfer him to harsher conditions if he refuses to continue with his scheme.

A dishevelled Andy is released from solitary confinement after two months. He tells a skeptical Red that he dreams of living in Zihuatanejo, a town on the Mexican Pacific coast, where he can start anew. He asks Red to promise, once he is released, to travel to a specific hayfield near Buxton and recover a package that Andy buried there. Red worries that Andy is suicidal, especially after learning that he asked a fellow inmate for a rope.

At the next day's roll call, the guards find Andy's cell empty. An irate Norton throws a rock at a poster of Raquel Welch hanging on the cell wall, revealing a tunnel that Andy had dug with his rock hammer over 19 years.

Aasmaan Singh lives in Mumbai with his friend Parvaiz and uncle Avtaar Singh, a former playback singer. His debut film, produced by Freddy Sodawallah’s company, becomes a hit. Aasmaan’s parents, Rajat and Neeta Singh, visit from Delhi to celebrate. At a party, Aasmaan meets actor Ajay Talvar. His manager, Sanya Ahmed, pitches him to Karan Johar for a film role, but Freddy pressures Aasmaan into signing a three-film deal. At a roundtable conference hosted by Sanjeev, Aasmaan insults Karishma Talvar, Ajay’s daughter, for her industry connections, causing tension with Ajay. Impressed by Aasmaan’s boldness, Karan offers him the role. Aasmaan, Sanya, and Parvaiz meet Freddy and encounter Jaraj Saxena, who has been sidelined for 15 years after signing with another producer. Freddy initially supports Aasmaan’s work with Karan but later urges him to cancel. At Dharma Productions, Aasmaan learns Karishma is the female lead and apologizes for his earlier remarks, but a reporter’s comment sparks a scene. Aasmaan signs a commercial to fund his father Rajat’s liver transplant. Rajat advises him to stay resilient. Ajay disapproves of Aasmaan’s casting opposite Karishma. When Freddy pressures Aasmaan to abandon Karan’s project, Aasmaan cancels the three-film deal and leaves. Aasmaan, Parvaiz, Sanya, Karishma, and her bodyguard Sukhi travel to Goa to rehearse intimate scenes. The intimacy coach is replaced by Emraan Hashmi, who struggles to train them. Ajay monitors Karishma through Sukhi. After failing to perform, Aasmaan and Karishma are locked on a balcony, where they bond and improve their acting, impressing Hashmi. The next day, Aasmaan performs a Heimlich maneuver when Karishma chokes on a fishbone, and the incident goes viral, causing a scandal. Karishma’s brother Shaumik embarrasses the family by publicizing the news. Karishma explains the situation to her parents. Freddy assigns lawyers against Aasmaan, but Parvaiz’s friends force Freddy to sign a new deal. Ajay refuses Freddy’s request for help, unwilling to work with him if Aasmaan joins Karan’s film. Aasmaan and his friends celebrate when Parvaiz secures a new deal from Freddy, though they overlook his coercive methods. Freddy faces challenges as Ajay refuses to work with him due to Aasmaan’s involvement in Karan’s film, threatening Sodawallah Productions. Karan approaches Aasmaan and Avtaar for his movie. Ajay grows concerned about Karishma’s friendship with Aasmaan and invites him home to rehearse but becomes uneasy with the script’s intimate scenes. At Karishma’s birthday party, her boyfriend Sameer proposes under pressure from Ajay, and she reluctantly accepts. Aasmaan leaves the party upset. Karishma, learning Ajay orchestrated the proposal, questions Aasmaan about his feelings, but he is kidnapped by goons before responding. Aasmaan is taken to meet Ghafoor Ismail, an underworld don. Jaraj Saxena obtains a video of the meeting and uses it to strike a deal with Freddy to ruin Aasmaan’s career. Freddy leverages the video to convince Ajay to sign a film with him in exchange for removing Aasmaan from Karan’s project. The video leads to Aasmaan’s removal from the film. Karishma suspects Ajay’s involvement but he denies it.

1847: A king with a great kingdom in coastal Karnataka lived with his loving wife and children but could not find peace. He sets out on a journey to discover spirituality and bliss. He comes upon a holy stone in a forest occupied by Panjurli, a demigod protecting the forest's villagers. He donates a vast portion of his land to the villagers in exchange for taking the holy stone with him. Panjurli warns the king, through a human-medium, that his family and successors should keep their word and not reclaim the land; if they do, then they will incur the wrath of Panjurli's companion, the ferocious demon named Guliga.

1970: The king's descendant asks a Bhoota Kola performer, who is possessed by Panjurli to make the locals hand over the land to him, which the performer refuses and states that if the former goes to court to decide on the land's custody, then the Daiva will deliver his verdict on the stairs of the court. The descendant is skeptical of the performer's possession by Panjurli, to which the performer replies he would vanish if he is possessed, after which he runs into a forest and is indeed never seen again. As warned and professed by the performer, a few months later, on the steps of the court, the king's successor dies mysteriously while en route to argue over the land's possession.

1990: Murali, a forest officer, is tasked with converting the villagers' land into a forest reserve. However, he is challenged by Shiva, a Kambala athlete and the missing performer's son from the Kaadubettu village. Shiva is backed by his patron and the village's landlord, Devendra Suttooru, who is the king's descendant. Although Shiva has repeatedly been asked to perform the Bhoota Kola, he refuses due to the trauma of his father's disappearance. Instead, his cousin, Guruva, takes his place. Murali and his staff start erecting a fence along the earmarked forest reserve, and Shiva falls in love with his childhood friend, Leela. He uses his connections with Devendra to appoint her as a forest guard. The villagers try to stop the fencing, but the police and forest guards (including Leela) brutally suppress them, creating a rift between Leela and Shiva even though she was following orders.

As the feud between Murali and Shiva intensifies, Murali decides to arrest Shiva and his friends and heads to their hideout along with Devendra's henchman, Sudhakara. While en route to arrest him, Murali's jeep accidentally gets crushed by the trunk of a tree, which was being cut by Shiva. While Murali survives with severe injuries, Shiva and his companions go undercover to avoid being arrested. A few days later, they secretly return to the village to meet their families; Shiva makes up with Leela and tells her that he will surrender. However, all of them are caught by the police and forest guards the next morning. Guruva asks Devendra to bail out Shiva, but during their conversation, Devendra tries to bribe him to impersonate being possessed by Panjurli in the next Bhoota Kola and order the villagers to hand over the land, revealing Devendra's true intention of acquiring the land from the villagers. Guruva refuses, and Devendra kills him. Learning that Murali has figured out his ulterior motive, Devendra decides to set Shiva against Murali.

In 1945, the don of New York City's Corleone family, Vito Corleone, listens to requests during his daughter Connie's wedding to Carlo Rizzi. Vito's youngest son Michael, a Marine and World War II hero who has so far stayed out of the family business, introduces his girlfriend Kay Adams to his family at the reception. Johnny Fontane, a popular singer and Vito's godson, seeks Vito's help in securing a movie role. Vito sends his consigliere, Tom Hagen, to persuade studio president Jack Woltz to offer Johnny the part. Woltz refuses Hagen's request at first, but soon complies after finding the severed head of his prized stud horse in his bed.

As Christmas approaches, drug baron Virgil "The Turk" Sollozzo asks Vito to invest in his narcotics business to provide police protection. Vito declines, citing that involvement in narcotics would alienate his political connections. Suspicious of Sollozzo's partnership with the Tattaglia crime family, Vito sends his enforcer Luca Brasi to the Tattaglias on an espionage mission. Brasi is garroted to death during the initial meeting. Later, hitmen gun down Vito and coerce Hagen into a meeting. With Vito's first-born Sonny now in command, Sollozzo pressures Hagen to persuade Sonny to accept the narcotics deal. Vito survives the shooting and is visited in the hospital by Michael, who finds him unprotected after NYPD police officers on Sollozzo's payroll clear out Vito's guards. Michael stops the attempt on his father's life but is beaten by corrupt police captain Mark McCluskey. After the attempted hit at the hospital, Sonny retaliates with a hit on Bruno Tattaglia. Sollozzo and McCluskey request to meet with Michael and settle the dispute. The Corleones agree to the meeting and devise a plan to plant a handgun in the bathroom of the Bronx restaurant where the meeting will be held. Michael speaks with Sollozzo for several minutes then excuses himself, retrieves the gun, and shoots both men dead.

Despite a clampdown by the authorities for the killing of a police captain, the Five Families erupt in open warfare. Michael takes refuge under the protection of Don Tommasino in Sicily, and Vito's second son Fredo is sheltered by Jewish mobster Moe Greene in Las Vegas. In Sicily, Michael meets and marries a local woman, Apollonia. Sonny publicly attacks and threatens Carlo for physically abusing Connie. When he abuses her again, Sonny speeds to their home but is ambushed and murdered by gangsters at a highway toll booth. Apollonia is killed shortly thereafter by a car bomb intended for Michael.

Devastated by Sonny's death and tired of war as the capo dei capi, Vito sets up a meeting with the Five Families. He assures them that he will withdraw his opposition to their narcotics business and forgo avenging Sonny's murder. His safety guaranteed, Michael returns home to enter the family business and marry Kay. They have two children in the early 1950s. With his father nearing the end of his life and Fredo not suited to lead, Michael assumes the position of head of the Corleone family. Vito tells Michael that he now knows that their true adversary had been Don Barzini all along. He warns him that Barzini would try to kill him at a meeting organized by a traitorous Corleone capo.

In 1964, an expecting Ed and Lorraine Warren investigate a haunting involving an antique mirror at a curio shop. Lorraine collapses upon seeing a vision of an entity and her unborn child, and goes into labor. Ed speeds Lorraine to the hospital, but the baby is stillborn. However, Lorraine's prayers revive the baby, whom she names Judy.

Twenty-two years later, the Smurl family moves to Pennsylvania. Jack and Janet Smurl share the home with Jack's parents, Mary and John, along with their four daughters: Dawn, Heather, and twins Carin and Shannon. For Heather's confirmation ceremony, John gifts her the antique mirror. During dinner, a kitchen ceiling light suddenly crashes down, narrowly missing Heather.

Due to Ed's worsening heart condition, the Warrens retire from their investigations but continue giving lectures, which are now sparsely attended. While at dinner, Judy, who has become increasingly sensitive to psychic visions, has an episode and begins to panic. Using a rhyme created while Judy was a little girl, Lorraine helps her calm down and reminds her to always shut herself off from the supernatural. Dawn and Heather attempt to dispose of the mirror, but the family continues to be terrorized by three entities: an elderly woman, a younger woman, and a man wielding an axe. Exhausted, the family shares their story with the press in the hope of finding help, which attracts the interest of Father Gordon.

Judy's boyfriend, Tony, proposes to Judy during Ed's birthday party, which she accepts. Unable to obtain the Warrens' help, Father Gordon goes to the Diocese of Scranton to assist the Smurls. The demon attacks Gordon at the diocese and induces him to commit suicide. At Father Gordon's funeral, Judy learns from a vision that he died while investigating the Smurls' haunting. She secretly leaves for Pennsylvania to investigate, and Lorraine has a vision that warns her about Judy.

Ed, Lorraine, and Tony are led to the Smurls, and Judy convinces her reluctant parents to help. Lorraine discovers that the three spirits are of a husband who had killed his wife and her mother, but they are being used as a facade by a demon. Judy's visions lead her to the attic, where she is attacked, causing her to fall down the stairs. Ed and Lorraine discover the mirror and realize it is the demon from their first investigation. Certain that the demon is hunting Judy, they decide to transport the mirror back to their home, where it can be contained. Judy falls ill as the Warrens are unable to remove the mirror from the house.

The demon possesses Judy and causes Ed to have a cardiac episode while Lorraine is attacked in the basement. Tony rescues Lorraine, and Ed recovers. The possessed Judy, now in the attic, attempts to hang herself but is cut down by Ed. Lorraine again uses prayer to revive Judy, and the demon attacks them. Ed is unable to excise the mirror, and Lorraine resolves to tell Judy to embrace her psychic abilities. With Judy's help, the Warrens destroy the mirror. The Smurls live in the house for three more years, and the remains of the mirror are kept within the Warrens' occult museum.

Wednesday is an American supernatural mystery comedy[2] television series based on the character Wednesday Addams by Charles Addams. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, it stars Jenna Ortega as the titular character, with Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J. Ogawa, Christina Ricci, and Moosa Mostafa appearing in supporting roles. Four out of the eight episodes of the first season were directed by Tim Burton, who also was executive producer. The first season revolves around Wednesday Addams, who attempts to solve a murder mystery at her new school.

Burton was previously approached to direct the 1991 film The Addams Family and was later involved in a canceled stop-motion animated film featuring the Addams Family. In October 2020, he was reported to be helming a television series, which was later given a series order by Netflix. Ortega was cast in part to represent the character's Latina heritage. Ricci, who had played Wednesday in the 1991 film and its 1993 sequel Addams Family Values, was asked by Burton to join the series in a supporting role. Filming took place in Romania between September 2021 and March 2022.

Wednesday premiered on November 16, 2022, and was released on Netflix on November 23 to positive reviews from critics; Ortega's performance received critical acclaim.[4] Within three weeks of release, it became the second-most watched English-language Netflix series. It received two Golden Globe nominations: Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for Ortega. It also won four Primetime Emmy Awards, while receiving nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Ortega. In January 2023, the series was renewed for a second season, which premiered on August 6, 2025; the second half is expected to be released on September 3. In July 2025, the series was renewed for a third season.

Premise

Wednesday Addams is expelled from her school after dumping live piranhas into the school's pool in retaliation for the boys' water polo team bullying her brother Pugsley. Consequently, her parents Gomez and Morticia Addams transfer her to their high school alma mater Nevermore Academy, a private school for monstrous outcasts, in the town of Jericho, Vermont. Wednesday's cold, emotionless personality and her defiant nature make it difficult for her to connect with her schoolmates and cause her to run afoul of the school's principal Larissa Weems. However, she discovers she has inherited her mother's psychic abilities, which allow her to solve a local murder mystery.

In the second season, Wednesday returns to Nevermore and while developing her psychic abilities she must face a new tormentor and prevent her roommate's death. In addition, Pugsley enrolls at Nevermore as Weems' successor Barry Dort wants Morticia to take on a fundraising role.

Mohan Bhargava is an NRI who works as a Project Manager on the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) program for NASA in Washington, D.C. Mohan relocated to the U.S. to attend college and stayed there after his parents died in a car accident in India. He worries about his Kaveri Amma, a nanny in his native Uttar Pradesh, who raised him during his childhood. After his parents' death, Kaveri Amma moved to an old age home in Delhi and eventually lost contact with Mohan.

Mohan wishes to return to India and bring Kaveri Amma back with him to the U.S. Following the recent success of Phase I of his project, he takes a few weeks off and travels to India. He visits Kaveri Amma's old age home but learns that she no longer lives there and went to a village named Charanpur a year ago. Mohan decides to travel to Charanpur.

Mohan uses a recreational vehicle to reach the village, fearing that he might not get the required facilities there. Upon reaching Charanpur, he reunities with Kaveri Amma and learns that his childhood friend Geeta, whom he referred to as 'Gitli' in his childhood, brought Kaveri Amma to stay with her after Mohan's parents died. Geeta runs a school in Charanpur and works hard to improve the living conditions of the villagers through education. The village, however, is divided largely by caste and religious beliefs. Geeta disapproves of Mohan's arrival, believing that he will take Kaveri Amma back with him to the U.S, leaving she and her younger brother, Nandan 'Chiku' alone. Kaveri Amma tells Mohan that she needs to get Gita married first as it is her responsibility. Gita is a strong believer of women's empowerment and gender equality, which attracts Mohan to her and he decides to help her by campaigning for education among backward communities and girls. Mohan befriends villagers, Nivaaran and Mela Ram, and they support him in his campaign. Mohan also gains the attention of Dadaji, a kind village chief.

Mohan and Geeta eventually grow closer. Kaveri Amma asks Mohan to visit a nearby village named Kodi to collect money from a man named Haridas who owes it to Geeta. Mohan visits Kodi and feels empathetic towards Haridas for his poor condition, which is such that he is unable to provide for his family with meals each day. Haridas tells Mohan that since he belongs to a low caste, his job as a weaver wasn't earning him enough money, so he started tenant farming. However, this change in profession led to him getting shunned by the villagers, who even denied him water for his crops. Mohan begins to understand the situation and realizes that many villages in India are still like Kodi. He returns to Charanpur with a heavy heart and decides to do something for the welfare of the village.

Mohan extends his stay by three weeks. He learns that electricity inconsistency and frequent power cuts are a major problem in Charanpur. He decides to set up a hydroelectric power generation facility from a nearby water source. Mohan purchases the equipment needed from his own funds and oversees the construction of the power generation unit. The unit works and the village gets sufficient and consistent power.

With her parents and younger brother, Vaani waits at the court for Mahesh and his family for their scheduled marriage. However, during a phone call, Vaani learns that Mahesh has abandoned her for the daughter of a prominent businessman, choosing career ambitions over love. Devastated, Vaani faints and withdraws into deep depression, locking herself in her room for months and losing touch with her passion for writing.

Krish Kapoor, a young and talented musician, is trying to establish himself in the industry. He is emotionally unstable, aggressive, and uses music to cope with childhood trauma. After an unpleasant encounter with a journalist and a confrontation with a band member who took credit for his work, Krish is held together by his friend KV, who financially supports the band using money meant for his education. One day, Krish comes across the personal poetry of Vaani who is seeking a job as an anchor and writer at a publishing house. He is immediately drawn to the raw simplicity and depth in her writing.

Despite initial hesitation due to Krish's erratic behavior and the overwhelming environment of the music studio, Vaani agrees to collaborate with him on a song for a production house. During a creative block, Krish discovers torn pages in her notebook and realizes she is carrying emotional baggage of her own. To ease her mind, Krish takes Vaani to a cricket ground where he often finds peace. Inspired by his passion and focus, Vaani begins writing again.

Their collaboration deepens as they spend more time together in the studio, riding on Krish's bike, and attending social gatherings. Vaani slowly regains her confidence, while Krish finds clarity and balance in her presence. When Krish is publicly embarrassed by the sight of his drunken father being brought home by the police, he vents his pent-up anger at him, blaming him for his mother's death due to alcoholism. He escapes to the cricket ground, where Vaani follows and comforts him. She acknowledges how Krish has helped her heal and now she is able to write freely again. In turn, she supports him in enrolling his father into a rehabilitation center. Their emotional bond strengthens further.

Once their project is completed, Krish drops Vaani home and tells her that her life would be better without him. However, fate intervenes when they reunite at a concert, where they realize their mutual feelings.

One day, Vaani's parents see Krish dropping her off and grow concerned. Her mother fears Krish might abandon Vaani like Mahesh once did. Overwhelmed by the stress, Vaani faints and is hospitalized. Her father allows Krish to visit her, and her mother, though skeptical, asks Krish if he truly intends to stay. She tells him to marry Vaani if he genuinely loves her. Krish agrees, strengthening Vaani's belief in his love and deepening their connection.

Their lives take a dramatic turn when Vaani is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's, with signs of memory loss becoming apparent just as Krish is about to leave for a concert. Her condition leads to a public outburst after unexpectedly running into Mahesh at an event. Krish receives a call from a security guard using Vaani's phone, informing him about her distressed state and abandoned belongings.

At the Visakhapatnam harbour, smuggler Simon Xavier runs an operation trafficking gold and luxury watches with his lieutenant Dayalan "Dayal." Simon's son, Arjun, rejects his family's criminal business and becomes a customs officer. An undercover cop posing as a coolie is killed by Dayal, who then offers a ₹2 crore reward for exposing another undercover officer in the gang.

In Chennai, Devaraj "Deva" runs a strict boarding house. After learning of his friend Rajasekhar's death, he attends the funeral but is driven away by Rajasekhar's daughter, Preethi. A drunken friend, Ravi, admits he and Rajasekhar ruined their lives, prompting Deva to investigate. Though the autopsy claims a heart attack, Deva finds evidence of chest trauma. Rajasekhar, once broke, had invented an electric chair for disposing of animal remains. His patent rejected, he was coerced by Simon into adapting it for human use to dispose of murder victims. Dayal tries to abduct Preethi as she knew how to operate the electric chair after her father, but Deva intervenes and joins the operation, using the chair with her help. Deva tells Preethi to quit this profession, but Preethi is helpless as she wants to support her sisters.

Eventually, Simon asks Deva to bury Dayal, claiming he was an undercover cop. They discover Dayal alive; he reveals his identity and threatens Preethi. Simon shows Deva a video of Dayal killing Rajasekhar. Dayal later contacts Deva from Nellore, demanding obedience and holding Preethi hostage in his hideout. Deva, following Dayal's orders, gains access to a harbour vault and uncovers a heart-trafficking ring targeting coolies. One order is to kill Arjun, but Deva spares him and asks him to run away with his lover in a boat. Dayal retaliates by threatening Preethi on a rooftop, but Deva unsettles him by revealing his real name, Dilip, and police past, working as a Constable in Thrissur.

He then captures Dayal's wife, Kalyani, who was revealed to be duping lover of Arjun, and demands Preethi’s release. Kalyani frees herself, kills Ravi, and reveals that she and Dayal were undercover partners. She orders Dayal to pursue Preethi, who escapes on a train but unwittingly calls Deva using a code from Rajasekhar, revealing she is Deva’s daughter. Deva's aide sacrifices himself to protect her from Dayal, who survives. Kalyani tells Dayal to go to her car, which was parked. Dayal finds Arjun there. Dayal calls up Simon and reveals that he was alive, and kills Arjun in front of him. Simon goes to Chennai and sends his men to Deva's mansion to kill off Deva and Preethi's sisters, but Deva kills off his men with the help of his lieutenant, Kaleesha, and 18 coolies who worked with Deva. On reaching Chennai, Kalyani captures Preethi but is herself kidnapped by Simon's men. Simon kills Kalyani in front of Dayal, then seizes Preethi to harvest her heart.

In 2024, five years after going rogue and taking down Saurabh and Rizwan Ilyasi,[b] Kabir Dhaliwal operates as a freelance mercenary for various international contractors. After eliminating a gangster in Japan, Kabir proceeds to Berlin to meet the contractor and receive the money, but there he is drugged by the contractor and transported to India, where he is introduced to the Kali Cartel — a powerful criminal syndicate with members from India, Russia, China and its neighboring countries, aiming to infiltrate and control the Indian government. The cartel requests Kabir’s assistance, unaware that two years earlier, Colonel Sunil Luthra had secretly tasked him with infiltrating the organization, creating the public perception that Kabir was a rogue agent and no longer affiliated with RAW.

Kabir’s first assignment from the cartel is to assassinate Luthra, a method of proving his loyalty to the organization. Luthra himself coerces Kabir into carrying out the act, which Kabir does with a deep emotional conflict. This earns Kabir the trust of the cartel, and he is sent to Yemen to meet the Indian leader of the cartel — the businessman Gautam Gulati. Meanwhile, RAW receives footage of Kabir killing Luthra, and former Colonel Vikrant Kaul is appointed as the new RAW chief. Wing Commander Kavya, Luthra’s daughter and Kabir’s former lover, joins the team assigned to track him. On the recommendation of Defence Minister Vilasrao Sarang, Special Unit Officer Vikram Chelapathi is recruited to the task force, who shares an unrevealed personal grudge against Kabir.

Kabir is later tracked in Spain, where he is visiting his adopted daughter Ruhi. He is ambushed by RAW officials but was tipped earlier by the cartel. Vikram pursues him in a high-speed car chase and later on a train, but allows him to escape moments before the train crashes. Kabir, along with Ruhi, visits Khalid's house in Manali and asks Khalid's mother Nafisa to keep Ruhi safe. Following a deliberate clue left by Kabir, Vikram meets him privately and learns the truth about Kabir’s mission, agreeing to aid him. Gulati subsequently orders Kabir to assassinate Sarang’s family aboard a chartered flight to pressure the minister. Long ago, demons preyed on humans, feeding their souls to their ruler Gwi-Ma. Eventually, three women became demon hunters and sealed the demons away with a magical barrier called the Honmoon. Their legacy continued across the generations, with each new trio using their singing voices to maintain the Honmoon, working to eventually strengthen it into the Golden Honmoon – a final seal that would banish demons permanently.

In the present, the K-pop girl group Huntr/x – comprised of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey – is the latest demon-hunting trio under the guidance of Celine, a previous hunter who raised Rumi. After completing their world tour, Huntr/x release and prepare for the first live performance of a new single, "Golden", until Rumi begins losing her voice due to her secret demon heritage, which only Celine knows. As a child, Rumi was told by Celine that turning the Honmoon gold would erase her demon marks.

In the demon world, Gwi-Ma grows enraged at his minions' failures. Five demons, led by former human Jinu, form a K-pop boy band called the Saja Boys to steal Huntr/x's fans and weaken the Honmoon, in exchange for Gwi-Ma erasing Jinu's human memories. Huntr/x quickly discover the Saja Boys' demonic nature while encountering them during their debut. Jinu discovers Rumi's demon marks as they fight, but helps hide it from her bandmates.

Meeting her privately, Jinu tells Rumi that feelings of shame enslave demons through voices from Gwi-Ma. He reveals that around 400 years earlier, Gwi-Ma granted him a beautiful voice that helped him and his family emerge from poverty, but then condemned him to the demon world; Jinu now lives with guilt over his family's subsequent downfall.

As the Idol Awards approach, Huntr/x rush to produce a new song, "Takedown", to expose the Saja Boys while their popularity skyrockets. Mira grows suspicious when Rumi questions if "Takedown" is too hateful toward demons. Torn between her identities, Rumi proposes a plan to Jinu: if he helps Huntr/x win the Idol Awards and strengthen the Honmoon, he could freely stay in the human world.

As the Honmoon weakens and more souls are stolen by demons, Mira tells Rumi to prioritize saving lives over rewriting "Takedown". Rumi confides in Jinu that her shame over her heritage weakened her voice, but talking with him healed it. Jinu confirms he no longer hears voices thanks to Rumi, and agrees to sabotage the Saja Boys. Gwi-Ma then summons Jinu, reminding him of their deal and the truth that he abandoned his family for a life of wealth and comfort, before threatening to bring back the tormenting voices unless he obeys him.

At the Idol Awards, the Saja Boys fail to appear, and Huntr/x perform "Golden", having chosen to shelve "Takedown" due to the contention it caused within the group. However, impostor demons sent by Jinu split Mira and Zoey from Rumi, then pose as them to trick Rumi into performing "Takedown", during which they publicly reveal her demon marks. She flees the stage and runs into the real Mira and Zoey, who feel betrayed upon learning of her heritage and collusion with Jinu. Rumi confronts Jinu for tricking her, and he admits to lying about his past.

In 1960, on Earth-828, astronauts Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm embarked on a mission into outer space, during which they gained superhuman abilities from cosmic rays. Upon returning to Earth, they became the superhero team known as the Fantastic Four.

Four years later, the Fantastic Four have become celebrities and are regarded as the world's protectors. During a family dinner, Reed and Sue reveal to Ben and Johnny that they are expecting a child. A few months later, the Silver Surfer suddenly appears to announce to the people of Earth that their planet has been marked for destruction by a planet-devouring cosmic being known as Galactus. After studying numerous anomalies involving the disappearance of planets, the team decides to try and negotiate Earth's fate with Galactus.

Tracking the Silver Surfer's energy signature to a distant star system, the planet they encounter is immediately destroyed by Galactus' ship, and the team is captured. Galactus offers to spare Earth in exchange for Reed and Sue's unborn son, as he senses an immense power within him, inducing Sue to go into labor. The team refuses and escapes from Galactus and the Silver Surfer using gravity from a black hole. On the flight back to Earth, Sue gives birth to her son, Franklin Richards. Following a disastrous press conference to explain their failure to defeat Galactus, the world turns against the team, fearing Galactus' imminent arrival. With Franklin in her arms, Sue declares to the public that they will do whatever is necessary to defeat Galactus, regaining public trust.

Reed devises a network of standing teleportation bridges that will transport Earth away from Galactus's reach, by hiding it in a distant galaxy many light-years away. Just as they begin activating the bridges, they are destroyed by the Silver Surfer. Johnny stops her from reaching the last bridge in Times Square and, having learned her language from their first encounter, identifies her as Shalla-Bal, who willingly became Galactus's herald to spare her own world, Zenn-La, from the same fate. Forced to hear the dying words of the planets she had led Galactus to, Shalla-Bal flees in anguish.

Using Franklin as bait, the team plans to lure Galactus to the Times Square bridge and teleport him away from Earth, negotiating with Mole Man to evacuate the citizens of New York to his underground city of Subterranea. The plan fails, and Galactus takes the baby from the team's headquarters, the Baxter Building. Sue forces Galactus into the portal using her shield-generating powers while Reed rescues Franklin. When Sue begins to falter from overexertion, Johnny prepares to sacrifice himself to give Galactus a final push into the portal. Having a change of heart, Shalla-Bal stops him and sacrifices herself instead, as Galactus gets consumed by the portal and thrown into the void. Reed, Ben, and Johnny recover Sue, who has seemingly died after exhausting her powers. However, when Reed places Franklin on her chest, his newly awakened powers resuscitate her. In the aftermath, the team is celebrated for their victory.
