The initial order from a district judge required the Trump administration to immediately fund SNAP, but when the case reached Jackson as the assigned justice for that circuit, she issued a stay to prevent immediate action. Jim stated, "It is still a mess, but it's a procedural vagary, if you will, regrettably in the time of Trump and we need to understand that. Understand that Ketanji Brown Jackson was doing something to preserve the interests of those 42 million people.
