There was early interest in "Hamnet" from the LAMB community when the schedule first went out, but two guests had to drop out of the show a day before recording and an SOS went out for replacements. Fortunately the call was answered and Rachel Wagner of "Rachel's Reviews" came in and did the work of two to make the show more complete. Of course returning LAMB Latoya Austin from "Frangalis27Tales", was just as invested in talking about this highly praised fictionalization of the circumstances in Shakespeare's life which led to the greatest play in history.  There are a few rabbit holes that we go down as we talk about the film, but rest assured, the amazing Jessie Buckley comes in for a deserved amount of praise for her starring turn as the Bard's largely unknown spouse. If you are up for a thoughtful discussion of Shakespeare, history, and movie production, you will want to listen or watch this episode.  

By executive action, "Santa Jaws" was chosen to be the MOTM for our December Christmas themed MOTM. The cheesy nature of the film encouraged a great number of puns, bad jokes, and alternative endings and title for a sequel. Let's face it, if you choose to watch a film called "Santa Jaws" you know what you are getting into. Our resident shark movie expert and former host of this podcast, Jay Cluitt, joins fan Jeanette Ward, skeptic Matthew Simpson, and up for almost anything Aaron Neuwirth, for a raucous hour of appreciation and derisiveness.  " Hey, this is classic global-warming. Non-indigenous species species roaming into unfamiliar territories. It happens all...""You are not listening to me! That is not a shark, that is Santa Jaws! It's Santa Jaws."

Another Special Episode of the Lambcast, while the Holidays occupy our time. This week Howard Casner shares his thoughts about the Channing Tatum dramadey "Roofman" starring Kirsten Dunst. What is promoted as a comedy action film is really a warm hearted romantic drama, featuring excellent performances from the two leads. The film is based on an incredible true crime story of an escaped robber who hides out in a Toys r' Us for several months, while managing a romance with a local woman who is unaware of her new beau's status as a wanted man. 

The horror film that is told from the Dog's perspective, "Good Boy", arrives on Shudder this week. It received a short theatrical run, which Lisa Leaheey and I both had an opportunity to attend last month. Because of the holidays and personal travel, regular episodes of the Lambcast are next available in December. So, in lieu of that, here is a "Special" Edition for you featuring our favorite Rhode Island Horror fan.  

Matthew Simpson from the Awesome Friday Podcast, shows why he is awesome by taking over the hosting duties for the November MOTM. The Genre for November was sports films, and a lot of votes came in, ultimately the Gold Medal went to 1993' "Cool Runnings" the Disney film about the Jamaican Bobsled team in the 1988 Winter Olympics. His guests this week ate "The Vern" from Cinema Recall and Matt Poirier of the Direct to Video Connoisseur. You get some Disney Talk, some John Candy opinions, and an enthusiastic review of a family film. The Exit Question follow up n Olympic Dreams (or in the case of the Vern, Nightmares). "C'om Have a listen mon".

This week we explore the exotic world of Genna, the Australia of the galaxy. Everything here wants to kill you, including a young Yautja, seeking to prove himself to his clan. A tight action film with a science fiction background and based on a long standing IP, it will work, right? Surprise! It does. Aaron Neuwirth and Jeannette Ward are long time "Predator" fans and they will vouch for this film this week,. We get a Predator as the antagonist, a connection to a different Sci-Fi franchise, and some clever storytelling. Plus there are the usual trails that lead to unexpected destinations with the LAMBs, James Bond for instance. How can you resist?  

In another act of self disclosure, our LAMBs this week reveal some of their blind spots and why they have missed out on those movies. Howard has a Hitchcock film on his list, and a modern horror film that most of the LAMB community has already seen. Todd simply feels guilty about buying VHS tapes and not having yet caught up on them, although one featuring Andy Griffin is going to make him happy in watching it and sad that he has missed it for so long. Amazingly, Richard has a swashbuckler featuring Errol Flynn on his list and a film featuring his favorite actor, which embarrasses him about having skipped. The Lambcast got blindsided by studio schedule shuffles, so instead of engaging in Mortal Kombat this weekend, our guests took a trip down a scary memory lane. Aaron Neuwirth, Jeanette Ward, Matt Poirier and Lisa Leaheey all agreed to a shift to a Halloween feature for the show. We talk about our first horror movie experiences in theaters, at home and with a special someone. Everyone brought their own questions to the show as well. If you enjoy our podcasts, come meet the podcasters on this week's show and learn what scares them.

Sometimes there is nothing you want to leave the house to see in a theater. After all, you already saw the newest Marvel movie three times, or it’s October and you don’t dig horror films, so what can you do? Well to take a phrase from fifteen years ago, and make you feel old with the reference, you can “Netflix and Chill”. That’s exactly what we are doing on this week's show, although with my guests this week, there are no romantic intentions to go along with the saying. We are simply going to talk about what films or limited series we have been checking out recently on the streamers. Netflix is not the only pit stop on the internet any more, and all the channels are creating original content for their subscribers. Dave Anderson and Howard Casner join the show with recommendations that you don't want to miss.

As always, the October MOTM is horror themed, but for a time, the horror was our communities indecision. Twice films tied for the selection, executive action resolved the dilemma and "Re-Animator" from 1985 is our film this week. A horror film filled with gore and comedy seems like a perfect choice, but a couple of the guests were less than enthusiastic, and it may surprise you as to who. If your favorite band of the 1980s is Talking Heads, you are going to love this movie. It may be classified as a zombie film, but it is closer to the mad scientist trope of horror, in spite of the large number of living dead. Bruce Abbot, Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton star in the film, but David Gale may be the antenna topper that makes it memorable. 

The new film from Paul Thomas Anderson does not get universal praise from our LAMB flock this week. One person sees brilliance, one sees a shining star in comparison to everything else this year, and one sees a film that they hated. Your opinions about the film may be challenged by any one of these perspectives, but you will only discover how if you come in and listen (or for you Illustrated Podcast viewers, watch). Howard Casner, Rishabh Vashishtha join the flock this week to discuss "One Battle After Another".  So "Masterpiece" or "Disasterpiece", you should find out here. 

This week, you get extra because you have been so good (and also because the guests can't wait for Halloween to talk about horror.  There is the final entry in a very solid horror franchise, a Stephen King Dystopia story that is basically a two hour walk and talk, and an original film presented under the banner of Jordan Peele, but one that he did not write or direct.  Lisa Leaheey and Damien Riley join Richard this week to take on a slew of late summer scares and thrills. There was unanimity on all three films, come listen and find out which one was awful, which one was awfully good, and which one meets expectations but does not exceed them. 

The legacy sequel to thew 1984 classic is out this week. It may not be doing well at the box office, but it's a fine line between entertaining and profitable. Howard Casner and Damien Riley join the show this week to see if this one goes to eleven. We get some sidetrack discussion on movie theater attendance and spend some time assessing the likelihood of a mediocre band appearing at Wimbledon.  So get ready to improvise your own thoughts and see if you agree with our LAMBs this week. 

The MOTM has been a long tradition on the Lambcast, well before I came along and took the reins. We are starting some innovations on the practice and they commence this week. The MOTM will now be focused on a different genre or theme each month. My hope is that it will make it easier for people with films they want to talk about to remember to submit their choices. I will also submit a number of options so that the community will have a minimum number of movies to vote for. This new process has just started, and Biopics were the genre for September. This week's episode is the first product of the changes, the winner by just a couple of votes, so this month we are going to “Walk the Line”. Howard Casner, who has never been to Reno, Matthew Simpson, who is not named Sue and Tony Cogan, who is as far from Folsom Prison as you can get, join us for this show. 

The "Wayback Machine" is set for a short trip on this week's episode of the Lambcast, we are traveling back just a few years to talk about films from 2012. In the Cinema World, We finished off the Twilight Movies, and Started the Hobbit Slog Through Middle Earth. James Bond celebrated 50 years on the big screen, The Dark Knight Started with a truly Dark Day, The Avengers finally came together, as the Hunger Games Began and Universal Pictures celebrated a 100 year anniversary, Howard Casner, Dave Anderson, and The Vern tighten their seatbelts for this time traveling show and they bring you several films that they thought ought to be remembered. 

Whatever happened to teen sex comedies?  We immerse ourselves in one of a wave of such films that emerged in the late 90s and early 2000s but seem to have disappeared off the big screen these days (ok, there are occasional exceptions but not many). Bubbawheat nominated EuroTrip as MOTM and he hosts the discussion as well as using a number of quotes from the film. Todd Liebenow,and David Brook are along for the train ride, hitchhiking and air delivery trip we take through this 2004 film starring the late Michelle Trachtenberg and some guest stars who just happened to be in Prague when the film was shooting. Writer/Director Zach Cregger follows up his successful debut feature, “Barbarian” with another out of the box Horror film, "Weapons”. We will dance around a lot of subjects before the spoiler wall comes down, but the best way to experience a movie like this is on your own, without too much foreknowledge. That said, we are still going to talk about it. Lisa Leaheey, Howard Casner and Nicole Ayers join in a long conversation about a half dozen characters, before we get to the spoiler wall. How can you resist, I have my bowl of water working. 

It seems that comedy is back on the big screen, with the surprisingly effective reboot of the slapstick format of the original films. "The Naked Gun" stars Liam Neeson in the deadpan role of Lt. Frank Drebin of Police Squad. Howard Casner from "Pop Art" tries to explain how the editing of the film is different, Matthew Simpson from the "Awesome Friday Podcast" felt warm and happy seeing the film repeat the style of his beloved ZAZ team, and Courtney Small returns to the Lambcast after a long hiatus, to praise the laughter and casting of the film. 

We don't have the Fantastic Four visiting the show this week, you have to make due with the "Terrific Trio". Jeanette Ward and Matthew Poirier join the show to dissect and appreciate the latest in Super Hero movies, "Fantastic Four First Steps". There is enough enthusiasm for the retro future world that the story is set, to justify a visit all on it's own. The addition of good casting, fun dialogue and an antagonist who can eat planets, makes it an easy decision to not only watch the film but to listen to the podcast. "It's Clobbering Time", so put on your stretchy suit and maternity dress and "Flame On!" for a 77 minute trip to the alternate Universe of the 1960s. 

We have your comic book movie fix this week with an episode featuring the Man of Steel, and we don't mean Henry Cavill. Writer/Director James Gunn has been given the keys to the DCEU kingdom and he tales his first film out for a test drive. Will there be buyers remorse from the studio, backlash from comic book purists, box off in overseas territories? It is hard to say at this point, but what we can say is what four LAMBs thought of the film. Jeanette Ward, James Wilson and Todd Liebenow have all applied to join the Justice Gang, and this will count as their admission essay. We don't get an origin story again, but as everone on the show agrees, we get a lot of movie.
