Julian is co-founder and CEO of Saltyco, an early-stage startup developing next-generation textiles from the fashion industry. Originally trained as an engineer, Julian founded Saltyco during his postgraduate program alongside Neloufar Taheri, Antonia Jara and Finlay Duncan at Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art. Saltyco’s mission is to connect environmental regeneration to material production through innovative materials that are derived from restored ecosystems such as wetlands. Saltyco’s first product is BioPuff® is a plant-based alternative to goose-down for use in outerwear. BioPuff® is designed to be lightweight and warm and created from fibres grown in regenerated wetlands.
