Welcome to the Season 5 finale!! It's been an incredible year, and I'm so happy to be closing out with my new friend Nathan Stevens (@micajahmusic).
Listen to find out wtf happened in South Carolina - as well as how we went to the same college but left with two completely different views of the city!
We tear into the unique history behind the band name and the new Micajah album "Ballroom on Fire", which is incredible by the way!
You can also check out Nathan's music reviews at drwoodhouse.com !
Thank you so much for listening to this season! I'm just getting started, so make sure you're following on Instagram (@the_morning_brew_podcast) and tune back in January 2nd for an interview with legendary songwriter Eddie Schwartz!
This week on the podcast, I'm welcoming Jennun (pronounced "genuine") - a Latin pop singer!
She recently attended the Latin Grammy's, released her debut album "Mejor Sola", and posted a new music video! In this episode, Jennun takes me through how the album was created and some of the mental challenges she overcame in the process.
You can check her out on Instagram (@jenn.u.n) and her Spotify is linked below!
Meet Brandon Torio - you may know him as Wave Station if you're in the Austin music scene!
In this interview, Brandon and I talk about his recent album, "Running Out of Time" and the different inspirations behind this project. His sound is very versatile, but reminds me of Linkin Park. (Fun fact - Brandon can name any Linkin Park song in less than two seconds).
Be sure to follow him on Instagram (@wave_station_) and check out his album anywhere you listen to music! If you're a fan of headbanging to a variety of sound, this album is definitely for you!
This week on the podcast, I have Tennessee based singer Maggie Miles (@_maggiemiles).
She unpacks what went into writing her first album "Am I Drowning or Am I Just Learning How to Swim" in addition to some of her more recent work, such as "A Humble Extension".
Her fanbase, the amphibians, are also a uniquely lovely group of people - something Maggie feels passionately about! Get to know her a bit more by listening to this episode!
In today's final bonus episode of spooky season, I am joined by my new friend, Elizabeth! She not only owns the coolest shop in all of New Braunfels, but she also is a Witch!
Having dipped my own toes in the well that is witchcraft, I was extremely excited to sit down with Elizabeth to debunk some stereotypes as well as educate myself more on what it's all about.
If you're passing through Texas, I highly recommend a stop here! And if not, lucky you - there is also a website!

Guys this episode is so special to me. FIFTEEN YEARS after the incredible Nickelodeon show "House of Anubis" aired, I have Brad Kavanagh (who played Fabian) on my show with me. Not only was Brad a great actor, but his solo music also happened to be the soundtrack to my formative years. These days, you can catch his music on ?YouTube, however I am trying to convince him to drop an album ;)
In this episode, Brad tells me some hilarious stories from the House of Anubis days in addition to the story of the wild journey taken by a rogue KCA (Kids' Choice Award)!
We also dive into his solo music from back in the day, current projects, and his newfound passion for photography. You can stay in the know about Brad's projects via Instagram and you can also purchase his beautiful prints on Etsy!
Links are all below - this episode is also available with visuals on YouTube :)

I'm SO excited to share this one!! This week, I have Freddy Reish and Dashel Thompson from one of my favorite bands, Atta Boy (@weareattaboy)! The band - which also consists of Lewis Pullman and Eden Brolin - formed when they were all in high school.
Shortly after releasing their first album, "Out of Sorts" in 2012, the band went on an 8 year hiatus before releasing their sophomore album "Big Heart Manners". Their third album, "Crab Park" came out in 2022.
Freddy, Dashel and I sit down to unpack the incredibly unique backstory of these albums and how the band came to be. I also get some very promising teasers to share with you all.
Thank you Freddy and Dashel for making the time to chat with me. This was a dream come true, and I hope we can chat again soon!
The band would like to give a shoutout to the bands playing with them on their recent tour - @jmoriartymusic, @texinoband, @bucko.rva, @keenanomeara, and @caamp. Additional shoutouts to World Central Kitchen (@wckitchen) and the Palestinian Children's Fund.
In this episode, I'm sitting down with TJ and LYNZI from the Austin band PixiePunk. We break down how their partnership formed, their songwriting process, and the inspiration behind their music.
You can find them on Instagram (@pixiepunk.music) and listen to their new single "Feed the Wild Fire" anywhere you stream music. If you are an Austin local, you can also catch them at the 29th Street Ballroom on October 4th!

This week's episode is special because I'm chatting with someone who I find incredibly inspirational. Sarah Hill is not just the publicist for Alan Alda's podcast - she is also a CEO, an author, and a podcast host.
In addition to Sarah motivating me to pursue my dreams, which I have since started doing, we discuss the ins and outs of her upcoming book, "Chat Sh*t Crazy: A Very Human Guide to Improving Your Life with ChatGPT". As an AI novice myself, Sarah and I delve into the pro's and con's of such powerful technology as well as how to use ChatGPT in some out-of-the-box ways to improve your life.

In this week's episode, I am in a coffee shop joined by Austin based musician, Lew Apollo. Lew's debut album "Fools Gold" is a rose-tinted emotional journey that doesn't conform to just one genre.
Catalyzed by his father's suicide in 2022, Lew's music reflects on internal struggles while avoiding the cliche of a sad-sounding song.
I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with Lew and am looking forward to the release party where these songs will soon be yours. "Fools Gold" comes out next Friday, August 8th. Make sure to pre-save and stream as well as follow Lew on socials @lew.apollo

One band I've been seeing live a lot recently is Mikky and the Doom. Their punk-rock vibes never disappoint, and the band has multiple amazing things happening for them later this year.
On this week's episode, I sit down with my friend Mikky Rib - frontwoman of the band - to discuss their upcoming single "Small Men", new album, and answer some spicy questions.
From sex-positive anthems to relatable villain origin-stories, this band truly has it all. If you're in the Austin area, come check them out live!! For everyone else, give them a follow on Instagram @mikkyandthedoom.

Meet Luke Marzec - British Jazz/pop musician! Luke just released Side A of his new album, "Something Good Out of Nothing" and today he is joining me to discuss how this album came about.
We discuss his time working on the set of Wonka, living on a narrow boat during the pandemic, and how his song Red Boletes came from living every Cottage Core girls' dream!
You can find Part A of Luke's album anywhere you stream music, and Part B comes out later this year!
