This episode, recorded at Goodwood FOS 2025, spotlights Peter Hodgkinson—one of motorsport’s most influential quiet operators—whose career arcs from Detroit to Le Mans, Brackley to the America’s Cup.
Leaving New Zealand in 1986, Peter cut his teeth with Jack Roush on SCCA Trans Am and IMSA GTO, stacking nine championships in three years before joining Tom Walkinshaw’s programmes across IMSA GTP, Le Mans and the Ligier F1 effort.
Over 26 seasons in Brackley with BAR Honda, Brawn GP and Mercedes-AMG Petronas, Peter served as Head of Build, where configuration discipline, release confidence and right-first-time quality became competitive weapons. In 2020 he shifted from parts to people as Head of Employee Engagement, translating technical precision into cultural cadence: clear roles, honest debriefs, high standards repeated until they become reflex.
Peter’s gift is bridging torque specs and team spirit—showing leaders how to win, and keep winning, without burning the engine or the people who behind it.
