In this first episode of Season 3, Dr. J explores the timeless wisdom of the Five Elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water — and how they can be integrated with the Eight Principles to enhance both personal wellness and clinical practice.
Learn how these elemental forces shape your body, emotions, and relationships, and discover how ancient theory meets modern application.
This episode also introduces Dr. Flinner’s upcoming Five Element Workshop (8 NCCAOM PDAs, AOM-AC) — a two-part virtual event where practitioners and students alike can deepen their understanding and bring Five Element wisdom to life in the clinic.

In Episode #11, we complete part two of our interview with Mina Larson, CEO of the National Certification Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in Washington, DC. (www.nccaom.org) According to their website, the “NCCAOM is the only national organization that validates entry-level competency in the practice of Acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) through professional certification.” In our interview with Mina, we asked questions about licensing, their national board exams, and questions that came directly from Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine students who participated in our survey. We are grateful to both Mina and the NCCAOM for allowing this special opportunity to look closely at what the organization is doing behind the scenes to support our growing profession. Thank you for listening!

Did you miss your calling? Do you feel you should be living a different life, or even worse, COULD BE living a different life that your “stupid self” chose not to or didn’t take advantage of in the past? All of us are presented with opportunities in life that may allow for us to live the life we dream of, but we may not have our eyes open wide enough to recognize the opportunities before us. Regardless of you might have missed, that calling is gone, and in this podcast, I share with you WHY it is not important whether you “missed your calling” or not. For the title of this podcast is a serious question we should all ask ourselves. So, listen closely if you know what I mean!
