The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast
Episode #18: JJ Kind
Hello! Welcome back! Thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast. This is your host TR. and this week I sat down with JJ Kind. Jacob is local artist and musician from Whitefish Montana whose passion for authenticity and creation show heavily in not only his art, but also in his life. Growing up with a love for hockey and spending time outside, Jacob also played everything from electric and acoustic guitar to piano and even sang in choir for a majority of his youth. He still actively plays and performs with his guitar, both solo and with a Lounge Core band, Atomic Frequencies, as well as records Hip-Hop songs and is constantly pushing the boundaries of the genre. If one thing is apparent, Jacob’s love for music has always been at the center of his life, right beside his family and rollerblades. But, before I say too much, here’s JJ Kind, on The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, Episode #18 at Area 41 Collective.

Episode #17: Twelve Clouds
Hello! Welcome back! Thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, this is your host TR. and this week, I sat down with Twelve Clouds. Patch is a local Missoula artist and producer that lives, breathes and loves all things Hip-Hop. Growing up in Chicago, Patch was exposed to numerous tastes and subgenres that have shaped his current sound into what I would say is unpredictable, yet intentional. Being influenced by the likes of MF Doom, Kool Keith and Lupe Fiasco, Patch’s extensive discography leans heavily into sampling as well as topical and conceptual lyrical content, packing a punch for any avid listener of the genre. His understanding of the culture and dedication to authenticity set him apart from the rest as an artist that has a deep care for the art he creates and every time I listen, I find myself being taken away to a new place within each track, both sonically and lyrically. Something I appreciate about Patch is his honest opinions and ability to drop knowledge about music on a dime. Putting me onto numerous artists and albums that I hold very close to my heart and is constantly willing to share his taste whenever I get the chance to chat with him. But, before I say too much, here’s Twelve Clouds, on The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, Episode #17 at Area 41 Collective.

Episode #16: Keenote
Hello! Welcome back! Thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, this is your host TR. and this week, I sat down with Keenote. Keenan is local artist from the St. Ignatius area that has been involved with Montana music for 10+ years and was a huge part of the local Missoula scene in the early to mid 2010’s. Growing up with a love for skateboarding and Metal to later finding Hip-Hop and eventually performing it with the Missoula super group, Codependents, Keenan’s journey through music is nothing short of grounding. He loved what he did and still to this day, embodies the idea of dedication through self-expression. I’m very grateful for Keenan’s perspective and willingness to talk about his artistry and I appreciate everything he’s done to inspire and motivate those who hear his music to pursue the universal truth of being one’s self authentically, always. But before I say too much, here’s Keenote, on The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, Episode #16 at Area 41 Collective.

Episode #15: David Dalla G and Surebert
Hello! Welcome back! Thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, this is your host TR. and this week, I sat down with David Dalla G and Surebert. This duo is easily one of my favorite producer/artist groups I’ve come across so far in my search and their history in the Montana scene speaks for itself. The combination of Surebert’s smooth, self-dubbed, “happy beats” and David’s upbeat and positive lyrics, make for some beautiful music and uplifting energy anytime you hear them. From meeting each other by chance through a mutual friend, to later opening, touring and working with acts such as, Sweatshop Union, Murs, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, One Be Lo, BLU, Mac Lethal, DJ Abilities, CookBook and many more underground legends, both David Dalla G and Surebert have etched themselves in Montana Hip-Hop history. It was a blessing to talk with them and I appreciate their willingness to sit down and shed light on their achievements, knowledge and experiences throughout their careers and I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I do. But before I say too much, here’s David Dalla G and Surebert, on The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, Episode #15, at Area 41 Collective.

Episode #14: Tylo $mith
Hello, Welcome back, thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, this is your host TR. and this week, I sat down with Tylo $mith Jordan is a local artist from Great Falls, Montana, and is definitely one of my personal favorite artists I’ve heard from around the state. With genre bending raps and smooth singing vocals, Jordan’s multifaceted sound catches so many niches that really set him apart from just the regular artist. Growing up, Jordan found himself listening to a range of different music, such as Ludacris and Tim McGraw to later finding J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, his influences have always been and still continue to be, present, even in his music to this day. Something I appreciate about Jordan is his kindness and authenticity as a human, as well as his humility and perspective on artistry as he navigates everyday, working towards his goals and I’m very excited to hear what he has coming out in the future days. But, before I say too much, here’s Tylo $mith, on The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, Episode #14 at Area 41 Collective.

Episode #13: Eddwords
Hello! Welcome back! Thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, this is your host TR. and this week, I sat down with Eddwords. Josh is an artist from Kalispell, Montana, whose music and mindset stand alone as not only motivational, but also intentional. Growing up, Eddwords was attracted to the hustle mentality and culture of Hip-Hop, as well as influenced by the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Nelly, Lil Wayne and later, Nipsey Hussle, J. Cole and many more. Being surrounded by a family of musicians who set the bar of excellence high, Josh rose to the occasion and quickly paved his own way, not only as a man, but also as a member of his local music community. From the moment I heard “Carrera” on “406 To The Ville” in 2018 and “X X L” on “Rollercoaster” in 2020, I was instantly drawn to his confidence, creativity and ability to relay a relatable story of struggle and hustle that still to this day, remain very apparent in his process. I’m very thankful for the opportunity he gave me to talk with him about his life, music and mindset and I’m very excited to see where his talent and work ethic will take him in the days to come. But, before I say too much, here’s Eddwords, on The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, Episode #13 at Area 41 Collective.

Episode #12: Atryp
Hello, Welcome back, thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, this is your host TR. and this week, I sat down with Atryp. Anthony is a Hip-Hop artist stationed in Bozeman, Montana and is definitely someone who deserves to be highlighted and heard. Originally hailing from California, Atryp’s lyrical approach is apparent with every track he graces. The way he paints a picture with description and feeling has earned him a title of wordsmith. His Mixtape Monday run this year has not only been inspiring but also motivating for anyone who listens each week. Hearing him create all sorts of different tracks, ranging from Old School Hip-Hop, to upbeat Alternative Rap, with a mission that has remained the same week after week, CREATE WITH PASSION. Every time I get to talk with him, there’s a sense of love, authenticity and kindness I feel emanating from his soul and that alone is something I appreciate wholeheartedly. But, before I say too much, here’s Atryp, on The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, Episode #12 at Area 41 Collective.

If there’s one thing I can say about Zane, it’s that he brings energy to any room he steps in, from having some of my favorite technical performances on the stage, to talking about local music memories, to being a huge encouragement and supporter of this podcast, he’s definitely someone who cares about the music and the community that surrounds it. Episode #8: Drem
Hello! Welcome back! Thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast This is your host TR. and this week, I sat down with Drem. Conner is a local artist who grew up right here in Missoula, MT and is one of the most versatile artists I’ve met so far, with styles that range from horror-core trap and phonk to alternative rap and jazz hip-hop. When I was first introduced to Drem, it was through his podcast, Unreleased Heat, which documented local artists and gave them a chance to show off their unreleased music and i was genuinely so inspired by it, i can honestly say, he was a big reason i started this podcast, as a way to give local artists a platform to speak about their experiences and lives as they navigated the montana scene. Since then, Drem has continued to throw community events, like open mics and my favorite, ”Drem N’ Friends” shows, by creating space for artists to be themselves and i think it’s a very important piece in our puzzle as we continue to try and bolster the local scene and work at building a stronger foundation for the hip-hop genre. But before I say too much, here’s Drem, on The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast, Episode #8 at Area 41 Collective.

Hello! Welcome back! Thank you for tuning into The Rhythmic Resonance Podcast This is your host TR. and this week, I sat down with That Kid Nova. Cayden is a local producer from Pryor, Montana, whose smooth soul beats and apparent influences translate seamlessly into his artistry. From growing up on the Rez to having a genuine love and knowledge of Hip-Hop, Cayden stands out amongst the crowd with his creative edge and honest energy. He hit me up a few days before the weekend and said he was coming through Missoula, so we met for the first time at Area 41 and chopped it up with Mellow Mike from around 10pm to 2am and then decided to record the episode and it was a much needed conversation. It was truly a blessing to be able to connect with him after a few years of listening to his beats and I’m excited to see what he does in the future with his creativity. Farch has been involved in the Hip-Hop community here in Montana for more than a decade. He's performed sold out shows across the state, as well as been hailed as one of the best entertainers of his time. Jesse is one of the many people that have impacted the local scene in a major way, whether he likes to admit it or not. From his humble beginnings of creating beats in his bedroom at college and making some classic and hilarious music videos, to now being involved with patient care, traveling around the state DJing and Emceeing for a variety of shows and events, to having some of my personal favorite moments and perspectives on, The Last of the Nobodies project. Jesse continues to impact the Montana community in many different ways other than just being an artist. I really enjoyed this episode plainly because Jesse brought nothing else but himself and his love for Hip-Hop and I really couldn't stop laughing the entire time, because he's genuinely such an interesting and fun human to be around.
