You know that feeling, when someone dances in the other role but makes it look ridiculous on purpose?
And that feeling when you are happy that someone wants to try the other role with you for the first time and now you have to "teach" them?
Tine wasn't sure how to handle these situations properly so she got some advice from the creators of RoleRotation, Felipe and Tiago, who have faced these situations many times.

Felipe and Tiago discuss, whether both role dancers are still the minority, they explain why you should change your mindset and go out on the dance floor believing that everybody is capable of dancing both roles and Tiago closes this episode with a statement that actually blew my mind and made me look at the dance scene in a different way.Demo at Terra Livre: https://youtu.be/NJn-EDV9Phg?si=INaiQpBIVgJo4eg4
Have you ever been to Terra Livre? It's a dance festival near Madrid where both role dancers and one role dancers come together to celebrate the freedom of roles in Bachata, Salsa and Kizomba. If you havent been there or if you have never tried Role Rotation or the other role before, this episode will give you a tiny glimpse of what it feels like to be free to express yourself and connect with others in the social dance world without having to just dance in one role the entire time. I interviewed dancers from all over the world at the Terra Livre Festival and asked them what Role Rotation and the festival mean to them. I did not even edit the sound, so you can hear the music and the festival vibe in the background. Felipe and Tiago didn't know about this, so i want to also take this opportunity to say thank you to them for their work, their kindness and their endles enthusiasm that is making the social dance world a brighter, more colorful and safer space for everyone. Enjoy this episode and send it to everyone who should feel a little bit of that festival vibe in this special surprise episode.

Todays special guest happened to sit in Felipes and Tiagos living room, so i asked her about her experience as a female solo artist in the bachata scene, what changes she would like to see and how we can all support all those amazing female solo artists out there, for example

A compliment that you get all the time when you dance both roles: “You dance so much better than the girls" or "You dance so much better than the guys”. And while this is coming from a good place, it`s really not a nice compliment. Find out why in this episode and what you can say instead. If you dance both roles, share this episode in your local dance community to spread awareness.

Have a look at the ticket options at Felipes and Tiagos own festival:
Is RoleRotation just for gays or a safe space for everyone? Of course we know the answer to this but Felipe and Tiago dive into their stories and experiences with this stereotype and why RoleRotation actually started. You might be surprised that it actually started with a straight couple.
