In Episode 91 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with my none other than… me.
For those that dont know, my real name is Darcy Tobin and this is my podcast.
It has been well over a year since I started this endeavour as a side hustle and since then my life has changed entirely for the better.
As my journey has progressed, I have delved further into the minds of the guests who have been on my show and as a consequence have been forced to explore parts of my mind I never have before. This was essentially the inspiration behind me having the guts to have this conversation at a pivotal moment in my life.
This podcast was filmed on the 31st of December 2025 and during this solo episode I delved into parts of my journey I genuinely never thought I would thanks to some thoughtful questions asked by my audience.
As hard it was, I know I will look back on this conversation with a smile on my face as I believe that 2026 is going to be the biggest year of my life to date.
I am genuinely not worried about whether this podcast gets many listens, but if you are reading this at a point in the future I truly hope that I serve as inspiration to keep pushing through whatever it is you are facing at the time.

In Episode 90 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with my friend Lachy Oliver.
Lachy is an ancestral coach with a focus on both weight loss & health optimisation, a topic which is of great interest to me!
We connected through social media and given our similar interests it was only natural to make a conversation happen whilst he was visiting Melbourne.
During our discussion we touched on why 2025 was the best year of his life, how he naturally overcame Crohn’s disease, additional eye opening life events that inspired his current lifestyle, how anxiety/depression helped shape him into the man he is today, the fulfilment he gets from helping others take control of their health and much much more.

In Episode 89 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Melbourne based property developer and entrepreneur, Oscar Ledlin.
Having originally asked Oscar to come on the show in early 2024 this conversation was obviously a long time coming, but having had the chance to re listen to our discussion can say with conviction that it was well and truly worth the wait!!!
in this episode we touched on his competitive nature growing up with four other siblings, how rapidly his respective businesses are progressing, the importance of moving between ambition and gratitude, highlights from his early days, why discipline is more important than motivation, what drives to want more despite already achieving a “relative level of commercial success”, the things he is most proud of from his journey to date and much much more.
After our chat I actually drove Oscar back to his office and on a phone call he described the podcast to someone as something extremely different to anything he had done before and it genuinely reminded me why I do what I do. What an absolute blessing my life has become!

In Episode 88 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Melbourne based artist and great friend Danielle Weber.
This is the second time we have spoken on the podcast and similar to last time left feeling inspired by the incredible story/mindset of Danielle.

In Episode 87 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Melbourne based entrepreneur Tom Noske.
For those who aren’t aware of the great man, let me start off by saying that this conversation was a highlight of mine for many reasons.
Tom is a fellow creator who founded Time to Build, a step by step playbook to build your personal brand on social media which is a space I am clearly very passionate about.
For those who want a small summary of a chat that went for nearly 2 hours, we discussed what Tom was like during his early childhood, the hidden costs associated with a full time career in social media, his current mindset/reflections on a self described challenging 2025, numerous aspects of his journey to date/how this has allowed him to evolve into the man he is today, the importance of showing up without a reward and much much more.
I have never said this before but there is so much we spoke about that I genuinely struggled to punch out a summary, I think that is when you know it’s been an amazing discussion!!!
Like I said earlier, having the chance to sit down with Tom was a real privilege and I hope anyone listening enjoys it as much I did, I will never take for granted how lucky I am to have conversations like these.

In Episode 86 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Angus Clark.
For those that dont know, I am an ex Real Estate agent and funnily enough, Angus was actually a competitor of mine back in the day. We developed a friendship throughout my tenure and now that I am out of the industry thought a conversation would be worthwhile having given the respect I had for him as an operator.
Our conversation centred around his early childhood, how he stumbled into a career in Real Estate, how his attitude towards “working hard” has evolved during his 30s, advice for those starting out in the real estate industry, some of the undeniable successes he has had throughout his career and much much more.

In Episode 85 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with my good friend Bardie Somerville for her second appearance on the show!!!
Since the first podcast of ours that was recorded in August 2024 a lot has happened in both of our lives so I thought it would be timely to get on her on the show again prior to the end of the year.

In Episode 84 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Antonie Ng.
Myself and Ant connected through the beautiful work of social media and a recent Instagram story of his inspired me to reach out and invite him on the show.
In this story, I witnessed his emotional reflection on how a recent break up affected him and the the challenging task he faced navigating grief whilst trying to grow a business.
Our conversation focused on this as well as the events in his early childhood that led him to pursuing a career in storytelling/presentation skills, the insecurities that came from a result of hiding his true self on social media, the cost of suppressing who you are behind closed doors and what the next period of his journey looks like.

In Episode 83 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Ben Pearce.
Myself and Ben connected through a mutual friend who suggested his story was worthy of an appearance on the show.
Going into it, I had little to no idea what had actually happened but quickly learnt about his incredible journey navigating through the Thailand prison system after being arrested by Police for carrying Valium (which he ironically had purchased over the counter).
Our conversation was largely focused on this traumatic experience and the eventual side effects this had on his mental health in the weeks after he eventually made it back to Australia.

In Episode 82 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Eleanor Baillieu.
Myself and Eleanor met an event a few weeks prior to our conversation and given our mutual interests a podcast was always bound to happen.
She is the host of the podcast Paddock 43 which is purely dedicated to Formula One, a marketing specialist who focuses on building brands and also a photographer.
During our conversation we discussed our the adversity she faced during her early childhood shaped her into the woman she is today, the mindset required to balance numerous businesses, the power in being naive in the pursuit of new challenges, what it was like growing up with a father who was the premier of Victoria, the intense fear of going back to a 9-5 job and much much more.

In Episode 81 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with my good friend Bradley Marshall for the second time on the podcast.
Despite appearing on the show before, our conversation was very different this time around. Known for his incredible transformation as a result of the Carnivore Diet (which was spoken about last time), we focused purely on his upbringing today and what it was like to grow up in a conservative household as a gay man.
During the podcast we touched on the numerous challenges he had growing up hiding his sexuality, why he has lived in regret for the past 10 years of his life, what it means to be true to yourself, how he dealt with/overcame feelings of shame throughout his life and much much more.
This was a very deep and insightful chat and one that I am very glad I had. Conversations like these are why I do what I do as it opens my eyes up to experiences I have never gone through and in an attempt to understand them I myself develop as a person.

In Episode 76 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Melbourne based musician Lachie Gill.

In Episode 75 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with my great friend Ollie Gale.
Social media is a funny thing and for all the bad thats spoken about it, meeting Ollie through Instagram has been one of the best things to come out of my journey to date.

In Episode 74 of The Steak Lad Experience, I sat down with Joel Smith.
As I mentioned early in the podcast, both of us connected early on in my social media journey and he was actually one of the people I first asked on the podcast, so to sit down with him after over 70 episodes was a real treat.
During our conversation we touched on his early childhood balancing both AFL/basketball, the numerous challenges faced throughout his career in relation to injuries, how his competitive nature was developed in his teenage years, the factors that went into him pursuing a career in AFL and much more.
A large portion of our conversation was also centred around his current 4 year ban from the AFL and the emotional toll it took on him at the time as well as his immediate family.
The perspective that Joel has with reference to this significant setback is truly inspiring and it was clear to me that despite what he went through is in a very good place.

To have the chance to sit down with him was a surreal moment for myself personally given that I grew up watching him when he was at the peak of his powers.
