Dennis grew up a gear head in Indiana. He attended Nashville Auto Diesel College before being drafted into the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, where he worked in vehicle maintenance/repair. In 1989, Dennis met a man named Jim who was building wiring harnesses (for conversion vans). They teamed up to build a universal wiring harness suited for hot rods.
