Being raised in church, husband and wife duo, Dre & Leah, developed a sincere heart of worship through music. D'Andrea (Dre) was born in Saginaw, MI and grew up singing in church at a young age. Going through challenging situations during his childhood, Dre used music as an anchor. Dre was heavily influenced and mentored by his uncle, Marcus Cole, who allowed him to see the behind-the-scenes production of the renowned group, Commissioned. This experience has shaped his understanding of vocal arranging and music production. Leah was born in Detroit, MI and was raised in Milwaukee, WI. Since recording her first album on cassette tape in 1994, Camille Miller has spent the intervening years mastering her craft. Influenced by the raw authenticity of artists like Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, and Leonard Cohen, her songwriting balances introspection with storytelling, and her back catalogue is a beautifully crafted blend of folk, rock, and pop that feels both timeless and current.
Now, with a new album on the horizon, Camille Miller continues their quest to write the “perfect pop song” in her own unique style – a journey that may never end but one she is more than happy to pursue for life. Born on a Canadian military base in Germany but raised amidst the rugged beauty of Vancouver Island, and various locations around the world, Camille Miller is a singer-songwriter whose music draws from a lifetime of diverse experiences and eclectic influences. Now based in Lisbon, Portugal, Camille Miller’s journey into music began early, surrounded by her mother’s extensive soul and ‘70s pop record collection. Childhood afternoons were spent gazing at Carole King’s Tapestry album cover while absorbing the sounds of Aretha Franklin, Jackson 5, and Nina Simone, setting the stage for her lifelong love affair with music.
From the moment she learned to sing Bay City Rollers’ Saturday Night and devoured the Fame soundtrack as a kid, Camille Miller knew she was destined for the stage. Clarinet lessons and a stint in the Canadian Military Marching Band saw her hone her craft further, but it wasn’t until picking up the guitar and discovering the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and Queen that she began to carve out her own path as a songwriter.
Camille Miller spent ten years fronting a full-time cover band (1998–2008), which allowed her to explore a range of styles, sharpen their skills, and fund her own original recordings. This deep knowledge of music, garnered from years of performing other artists’ songs, has enriched her own unique sound, enabling her to transcend genres and speak to listeners across generations and borders. She has worked with the likes of Nicholas Haggar, with whom she wrote and recorded her first three albums, Doug Elliot (Odds), Pat Steward (Bryan Adams), and has contributed as a writer and vocalist to a host of major label albums in both North America and Europe.
