Many Evangelical churches suffer from a shallow understanding of church history and theology. However, many Christians today are rediscovering the wisdom of the Historic Creeds and Reformed Confessions and Catechisms. These historic documents, grounded in Scripture, bring clarity to Christian beliefs, foster unity across congregations, and offer depth to personal faith.
In this talk, we cover their biblical foundations, their role through church history, and how they’re still relevant—practically speaking—for pastors, leaders, and families today. No fluff, just real talk about tools that help the church stay rooted.

How do we build God's Kingdom? What is the Kingdom? This talk explores these important topics for the Christian life with practical examples of how we can build the Kingdom strategically, incrementally, and generationally. This talk was originally delivered at Faith Baptist Muskoka to a men's group. I hope that it helps inspire and equip more Christians to seek first the Kingdom and see the LORD bless the works of our hands to disciple the nations.

Ryan Eras, headmaster of Niagara Classical Academy sits down to talk with us about why they're starting a Classical Christian Academy in the Niagara region, what it's about and why it's important. A classical and Christian education is a method of teaching and of seeing the world. It has its origins in the classical, Greco-Roman era of history. It is a very time-tested method of education to train people to become self-governing citizens. It is interested in what makes something good, true, and beautiful, or what keeps it from being those things. A classical Christian education is a deliberate work of forming the soul of the student. The academics are rigorous, but our emphasis is on modelling and cultivating virtue rather than academics because unless virtue is being practiced, academics cannot follow. ▶️ UP NEXT: Public School vs Christian Education ✅ Niagara Classical Academy: https://niagaraclassical.com/ ✅ Follow on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/niagaraclassical/ ✅ Check out upcoming events: https://niagaraclassical.com/about/events/ *RESOURCES* 📘 Classical Education and the Homeschool - https://amzn.to/4c2Rc4W 📘 Wisdom and Eloquence: A Christian Paradigm for Classical Learning - https://amzn.to/4aX0Uoi 📘 An Introduction to Classical Education - https://amzn.to/4bWkthZ 📘 Shaping Hearts and Minds: A Case For Classical Christian Education - https://amzn.to/4c7fPxa ----------------- ℹ️ https://www.theotivity.com/ 📩 Newsletter: https://theotivity.com/newsletter/ 💰 Donate: https://www.givesendgo.com/theotivity ➡️ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theotivity ➡️ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theotivity/ ➡️ Twitter: https://twitter.com/theotivity

Dr. Tony Costa discusses several problematic issues with Pope Francis and analyzes the various problems with the Roman Catholic doctrine of Papal Infallibility.
In this episode, we discuss some of the scandals that Pope Francis has been through including changing views on divorce, universalism, the denial of Hell, being accused of heresy by Catholic theologians and more. We examine the top theological issues with Pope Francis and whether he could be legitimately considered a heretic by both Catholics and Protestants. We also look at reasons why Pope Francis has pushed leftward on many issues and consider whether the Roman Catholic doctrine of Papal Infallibility holds any weight.
This is an episode we hope will help Protestants and Catholics alike think carefully about these issues and equip them for fruitful conversations.
Tony Costa earned a B.A. and M.A. in Biblical Studies from the University of Toronto and earned his Ph.D in New Testament and Theology from Radboud University in the Netherlands. He is a professor of apologetics at the Toronto Baptist Seminary. Author and Pastor Zachary Garris talks about the problem of the feminization of the Evangelical Church and the need to recover the masculine nature of Biblical Christianity. We discuss some compromises of Complementarianism, how feminism crept into the church and how God's design for the sexes extends beyond just the home and church. Complementarianism, which started off as a movement with good intentions to preserve the distinction of gender roles in response to Evangelical Feminism in the 1980s fell short in many ways of the older, more Biblical understanding of Patriarchy. We also tease out some of the related problems with Radical Two Kingdoms Theology (R2K) and how it may be symptomatic or a contributing cause of the feminization of the church. Lastly, we touch on some issues of cultural engagement and political theory.

Building strong Christian Communities is even more important in the troubled times that we live in.
With a rising anti-Christian sentiment in much of our culture, Bible-believing Christians are facing more discrimination in the workplace, schools, entertainment, culture and even legally. Everything from DEI to ESG to BLM and CRT, and all the other ominous 3-letter acronyms for ungodly ideologies creates a cultural atmosphere where many conservative Christians feel more and more pressured to compromise their faith. When we're isolated we're vulnerable and weak, so robust communities where Christians learn from, support and build up each other are vital.
In this episode, we sit down again with Josh Ankenmann, the founder of Algonquin Digital Media Co. to discuss the importance of building strong Christian communities and how that can radically impact our lives and the community and culture around us for the glory of God. We talk about what it takes to build strong families, churches, businesses and the importance of Christian education in establishing strong and lasting Christian communities that can be a refuge in dark times but also serve as a city on a hill to shine the light of the Gospel to a world in need.

With economic recession, inflation and increasing national debt, how are Christians supposed to think about their money and building wealth to leave an inheritance? In this episode, we interview Jonathan Wellum from Rocklinc Investment Partners Inc. on how God's Law helps us understand economics from a Christian perspective. He talks about how the Bible's economic principles help build strong economies, the problems with inflationary fiat currency, and what's the better (more Biblical) alternative. We also talk about how Christian entrepreneurs can build thriving businesses even in a time of economic hardship and how Christians in full-time ministry can build equity and wealth. Finally, Jonathan exposes some of the most common misconceptions about economics and gives some advice on how pastors can help equip their flocks to think Christianly about economics. Secularism has failed and it is doomed to run its course.
Big words, but our guest today, Dr. Tony Costa thinks he can back it up. We interview him about his forthcoming book, "No King But Christ" and how Christians today need to fully embrace and live in accordance with the total Lordship of Jesus Christ in all spheres of life. He unpacks how the failure to realize the totalizing nature of Christ's Kingship has led to many of the issues and weaknesses the church faces today. He also explains how secularism and the ideologies it has spawned have brought ruin and are destined to collapse due to their own inconsistencies.

In this episode, we sit down with Pastor Alex Kloosterman from City Hill Baptist Church and Dominion Press in Peterborough, Ontario to discuss an open letter to the churches of Canada in April 2023 written at Dominion Press concerning the issue of the response to the lockdowns. We talk about the effort to recast the situation in a different light and why that's concerning. We also touch on why this issue is still relevant and the proper relationship between forgiveness and repentance.
In the conversation, we talk about the sinful idolatry that took place and whether or not these issues are serious enough for a Christian to consider leaving a church. Ultimately, we talk about the desire for real dialogue to happen and reconciliation between these different parties within the Reformed Evangelical world. That should be ours, and every Christian's desire, that we would see true unity happen - not due to compromise, but rather through Spirit-wrought conviction of the truth.

With Feminism, the "Red-Pill" movement, and all the gender confusion happening in our societies today, how should Christian men understand God's design for the sexes? In this episode, we interview Michael Foster, the author of the book "It's Good To Be A Man" and pastor of East River Church, about the topic of Biblical Patriarchy. We explore some insights about the book, the differences between the Complementarian Movement and Biblical Patriarchy, and some of the important differences between men and women. We also consider if there should be a difference between how pastors preach to men versus women, how to safeguard against some of the excesses of the "red-pill" movement in the "man-o-sphere", and what is the Biblical definition of "effeminacy". Should Christian parents send their kids to public school? Does the Bible say anything about how we should educate our children? Many are afraid to give a clear word on this controversial topic. Many think that God's Word leaves it up to us to choose what we think is best or most convenient. However, our children's education is one of the most important responsibilities of parents, and specifically fathers. How Christians educate their children will determine the future of churches and societies - so this is no small matter. I believe that God's Word does have clear guidance for us on this issue, and in this video, I lay out my case for why Christians should not send their kids to public school, but instead are obligated to give their children a distinctly Christian education. This may take the form of homeschooling, private Christian school, classical Christian education or even other creative ways. But, the main point is that if we keep giving our kids to Caesar - they'll keep coming back as Romans. 📰 Read the article here: https://theotivity.com/post/public-school/ ----------------- 📚 Recommended Resources: ✅ The Case For Classical Christian Education by Doug Wilson - https://amzn.to/4668Z8k ✅ The Christian Philosophy of Education Explained by Stephen Perks - https://amzn.to/3Zd6TBr ✅ The Marxification of Education: Paulo Freire’s Critical Marxism and the Theft of Education by James Lindsay - https://amzn.to/3ZeOcwY ✅ Foundations of Christian Education by Berkhof and Van Til - https://amzn.to/3rli0vn ✅ On Secular Education by R.L. A lot of modern Evangelical Churches provide some form of Kids Ministry service during their Sunday gatherings. Many Christians take it for granted that this is normal. However, how many have stopped to ask the question, "Is this actually Biblical?"
In this episode, we consider the Biblical texts that are usually used to support Kids Ministry to see if this practice is actually supported by the Bible. The answer may surprise many. But if we want to build healthy, Biblical churches, then we should be concerned about what God's Word says and doesn't say about this important topic.

Many Christians today are confused about how to make sense of the crazy world we live in. Our present moment has many challenges to navigate with ideologies labelled as "Cultural Marxism" in the public square. With the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality, the radical Climate Alarmism, plus the rapid expanse of tyrannical governmental policies that overstep their God-given authority, and the escalation of gender and sexuality issues - many Christians are looking for a way to process these things Biblically. In this lecture, we explore these topics and how we can analyze them from a Christian and Biblically informed worldview to make sense of them and learn how to respond appropriately. The latter half of this video is an open Q&A period. ----------------
