We've talked a lot about the life experiences that black women go through that make them feel dehumanized, less than, and neglected within our society. For our finale episode, we're going to be tying all of our conversations back to Black Feminist Theory, Othering, and Intersectionality, and really nailing down what black women need in our society to not be deemed as an "other".

Black women have been subjected to constant abuse from the medical system, both as doctors and patients. Black female doctors have to break down barriers while fighting the label of being incompetent, while black female patients are constantly being taken advantage of or neglected by their doctors. Media and media portrayals play a huge role in how people are perceived and treated, especially black women. Black women have been subjected to many stereotypes within the media, and have been given very little room to be authentic and have depth. Throughout history, we've seen the constant sexualization of black women's bodies and who black women are as people. We also see how this constant sexualization affects how black women see themselves, but also how the world views and perceives black women. We find that black women are at the bottom of the social ladder, constantly being made to feel inferior by their peers and by society. In black women's lives, many aspects and experiences force them to feel like outsiders within society, forcing them to live in a separate reality. I sought to answer the question: What are the aspects of black womanhood that force black women into the box of other?
