Our topic this week is the ego. We welcomed our friend Ernest Mwesigye to the podcast to give his perspectives on the ego and discuss its positives and negatives with us. We also brought back our brother Mushmush, who is the first recurring guest on the podcast to give his two cents on the topic. This is a unique episode because we all came in with different opinions: some of us thought the ego was a helpful tool we can use to achieve our goals, while others saw it as a negative thing preventing us from spiritual growth. Tune in this week to see how we explored the theme.

Your faith is one of the most important things in your life, if not THE most. It defines how you live, and creates your perception of right and wrong. When we go to different environments, we often lose aspects of our faith due to the change. This week we sat down with Hussein's close friend Ammar to talk about keeping our faith when we go abroad and staying strong on our values. Ammar, Hussein and Zaid have all studied abroad for university and were each individually put into the same challenge in different settings. This episode explores all of that while giving you a few laughs along the way. Thank you for tuning in, be sure to like, comment and subscribe!

It's the episode with our cousin and official podcast sponsor, Yousif! Yousif completed an undergraduate degree from York University in Kinesiology, and enrolled in Med School after that. But thanks to the strikes at York at the time, he took a leave of absence to pursue his newly-discovered passion of coding. He taught himself how to code in a number of languages and went on to launch the app that sponsors our podcast today - My Meal Diary. He walked us through his journey to get to the place he is today, and discussed how much further he still wants to go to use this app to help as many people as possible. It was a very insightful episode and we came away from it having learned a lot about his journey!

Welcome back to the Young Nation's Podcast! This week, our close friend Hussam Merghani came on the show to talk about something he and Zaid have struggled with over the years - being a people pleaser. Hussein comes in as somebody who's seen this behavior before, but doesn't relate to it or feel it applies to him. In that context, there's a discussion on how people pleasers slip into those habits of over stretching themselves for others, and how they can learn to prioritize themselves and say no. Shoutout to Tokio and Chris, who were the podcast's first live audience and made a special cameo in this episode!

First things first, shoutout Hussein! He couldn't make it to this episode because he got hit with COVID and had to isolate, we missed him today for sure. Today's episode, though, was truly unique and special. We invited Zaid's childhood friends TJ and Tokio to discuss something they've both had to deal with throughout the course of their young adulthood - adapting and getting back up when life plans fail. Both TJ and Tokio talk about their situations and the unique challenges they had to go through. From not being able to go to university abroad to being homeless to having to feed the entire family, this episode unpacks it all. Shoutout the guys for their insights today.

In a truly inspirational episode, we bring on our cousin Hussain Alokaily to talk about his interests in film and directing. Hussain goes into how he got into film and why he chose directing, talking to us about a few of his projects and milestones along the way. The conversation then steers into how cultural and societal expectations can often stop us from pursuing what we love. Hussain's experience with this was profound, and his journey in defying these expectations and winning the support of his friends and family in his journey are very inspirational. Zaid and Hussein have also had similar situations and everybody discusses how they relate to the issue. Hussain's film making ability is clearly great, and the sky is the limit for him in his pursuit of his dreams.
