Hi, I’m Cheryl. A wife, mom, ministry leader, and Jesus lover. For years, I struggled to fit myself into the same routines, spiritual habits and identity I had as a newly married woman.
I was frustrated, discouraged and depressed when all I felt at the end of the day was worthless because I couldn’t accomplish all the things I used to be able to do.
I finally realized in trying to meet everyone’s needs except my own, I had forgotten who I was and, if I was going to have any joy in motherhood, I had to discover who I had become.
I had to rediscover my identity, learn how to prioritize my mental, spiritual, and even physical health so I could be the mom my girls needed.

In this episode, I’m sharing 5 ways to simplify Christmas family obligations so you can bring the focus back to Christ, family, and peace.
Christmas can be celebrated on days other than Christmas Day or Christmas Eve
Have honest conversations about presents – reducing the amount your kids get or reducing the financial strain because of tradition.
Think of things that can be made rather than purchased: Food, crafts, hand crafted items… Pinterest is your best friend!
Celebrate with the in-laws on alternate years.
Have open conversation with your spouse on travel and what actually works with you, your kids, and your finances. It's okay to not travel for a season.
