Do you long for time to spend with Jesus? Have you found yourself needing a hug from your husband so you feel wanted? Do you feel guilty wishing there was more to your life than wiping noses and doing dishes? Are you drowning in the responsibilities of just being Mom? Do you wonder why your pre-mom routines are no longer working? I am so excited that you are here! This podcast will help find peace with the time you do have, start rebuilding routines you need to stay sane, invite you to see yourself how God sees you, and find joy in motherhood. Hi, I’m Cheryl. A wife, mom, ministry leader, and Jesus lover. For years, I struggled to fit myself into the same routines, spiritual habits and identity I had as a newly married woman. I was frustrated, discouraged and depressed when all I felt at the end of the day was worthless because I couldn’t accomplish all the things I used to be able to do. I finally realized in trying to meet everyone’s needs except my own, I had forgotten who I was and, if I was going to have any joy in motherhood, I had to discover who I had become. I had to rediscover my identity, learn how to prioritize my mental, spiritual, and even physical health so I could be the mom my girls needed. If you’re ready to reclaim your identity, find Jesus in the middle of the dishes, and love yourself like your babies do, this podcast is for you. Grab your ear pods and start folding laundry, this is Time for Mom.

41 | Just a SAHM Reading the Christmas Story From the Bible
Do you miss having time for Jesus and yourself, but you’re drowning in the responsibilities of motherhood? If so, you’re in the right place.  Hi, I’m Cheryl - Wife, girl mom, and Jesus follower. I learned the not-so-secret ways to become the mom my girls needed by prioritizing Jesus back into life, rejecting mom guilt, and discovering what self-esteem really is. If you’re ready to build faith while washing dishes, rediscover your identity and love yourself like your babies do - grab your earbuds and lock the bathroom door for a minute alone, it’s Time for Mom. In today's episode, the day before Christmas, I am going to read the story of Jesus' birth found in Luke 1:26-Luke 2:40 as well as a tiny piece from Matthew 1:18-24. While preparing for today's episode I actually found a blunder I made in a recent devotion I wrote. No matter how many times I have read this part of the Bible, I always find something new. I hope you do too. Enjoy  Related Episodes, Devotions, and Links: Was Mary a Favored Woman or Girl Clinging to the Word of God? 40 | No Room for Jesus or Toys? 3 Guilt-Free Pre-Christmas Decluttering Tips Plus a Devotion - Mom Life Devotion
Do you stare at the sea of toys of junk in your children's room and just want to burn it all? Are you wishing there was a way to restore peace and order without being eaten by guilt at those sad little faces? Does the chaos in your child's room look like your spirit feels? If so, you’re in the right place.  Hi, I’m Cheryl - Wife, girl mom, and Jesus follower. I learned the not-so-secret ways to become the mom my girls needed by prioritizing Jesus back into life, rejecting mom guilt, and discovering what self-esteem really is. If you’re ready to build faith while washing dishes, rediscover your identity and love yourself like your babies do - grab your earbuds and lock the bathroom door for a minute alone, it’s Time for Mom. In this episode, I’m sharing physical and spiritual decluttering tips so you can make room for Jesus and those new goodies as we move into the new year.  3 Guilt-Free Pre-Christmas (or Post-Christmas) Decluttering Questions: Was this toy broken? Was this toy fixable or beyond hope of repair? Was this actual garbage? What toys did the girls not play with or had grown out of? What did we just not have room for? Would it kill or traumatize my children if I got rid of them (the toys, not the kids)? What was the benefit of decluttering for my kids? They didn’t miss what was broken, outgrown, or impractical. With less clutter, they rediscovered joy in what remained. Simplicity made play and cleanup easier, not paralyzing. How often do I refuse God's gifts because I don't want to lose what I have? How often am I like Bethlehem, grousing at noisy shepherds instead of celebrating the gift of the awaited Messiah because the change was very inconvenient? 7 ways can you make room for Jesus in the New Year: Declutter – Physically and Spiritually. Take a media fast, replacing the app with a Bible app like YouVersion. Check out Author Mary Demuth's book, 90-Day Bible Reading Challenge. Set time aside to sit in silence. Pray and listen. This goes hand in hand with sitting in silence. Memorize a verse and meditate on it. Repeat the process throughout the year. Read or listen to your Bible. Set aside time to worship the Lord. Does your family overwhelm you during the family Christmas? Are you searching for a way to enjoy you overwhelming family without sacrificing your mental health? How can you stay sane with insane volume levels? You’re in the right place! Hi, I’m Cheryl - Wife, girl mom, and Jesus follower. Book your FREE 30 minute Time for Mom breakthrough https://bit.ly/timeformomcoaching Offer ends December 25, 2025 In this episode, I’m sharing 12 ways my introverted self and family keep our mental health and still enjoys the Christmas chaos so you can make good memories without the emotional fallout.  Step outside and breathe in the 30° or 80° air, depending on where you live. Bundle up (or not) and take a walk. Maybe take your dog with you. Retreat to your room for a few chapters of a good book. Get up early, before everyone else, read your Bible, spend some time in prayer, maybe some journalling. Grab a relative you haven't had a chance to visit with to go on a walk or drive. Stop being a stuffy adult and play with the kids. Just make sure you wear pants with a little give, so they don't split. Take a nap. Trade knock-knock jokes with your nieces and nephews. Put a puzzle together. Give yourself and/or your family some grace. It's going to be okay if the food is a little over cooked, the sink is full, and the house is cluttered. Remember to breathe. As long as everyone is still alive and mostly un-injured after a Christmas gathering, it's been a success. Don't put so much pressure on yourself to make it special. I have lots of good memories from the things that weren't perfect. The perfect things tend to fade into oblivion. Jesus is the reason for the season. He came to have a family, a big one. Our families are a blessing we often don't treasure until they are gone, especially with how rushed we live our lives. Treasure the moments now, because they will be a treasure later. 36 | 7 Ways to Show Compassion and Encouragement as a SAHM – Mom Life Devotion
Have you watched someone fall apart and think, "That's no big deal. Why are they being so stupid?" Do you bear the scars from people's careless words when you were needing a community instead of a judge? Why is it so much easier to have compassion for a struggling child than it is a struggling adult? If so, you’re in the right place.  Hi, I’m Cheryl - Wife, girl mom, and Jesus follower. I learned the not-so-secret ways to become the mom my girls needed by prioritizing Jesus back into life, rejecting mom guilt, and discovering what self-esteem really is. If you’re ready to build faith while washing dishes, rediscover your identity and love yourself like your babies do - grab your earbuds and lock the bathroom door for a minute alone, it’s Time for Mom. In this episode, I’m sharing a snowstorm inspired lesson of compassion so you can see your struggles and the struggles of others in a new light.  It's easy to discount other people's struggles. What isn't a big deal to me, is for another. What is easy to deal with for one person may make me want to curl up in a ball and cry. What I am equipped physically and spiritually to handle, is not the same as the next person. Here are 7 things that you can do or not do to show compassion to your friends and family when they are struggling in life: Listen. Do not interject with a "It could be worse.", that makes it worse. Let them lament and be compassionate. Only offer advice after being asked and go forward with prayer. Please don't talk about how the enemy is attacking them, let alone stand there and rebuke demons. That's not always the case and saying things like that creates a lot of hurt, confusion, and sometimes even bitterness against you. Love them where they are, in the midst of their heartache. Silence is okay, especially in grief. Sit with them, again, silence is okay and even preferred. Job's friends sat with him in his grief and torment. When they tried to justify his circumstances and perceived 'punishment', they got rebuked by God. Romans 12:15, "Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep." Are you struggling to find anything to be thankful for this Thanksgiving? Do you listen to all the gratitude lists from others and just think, "Yeah, I'm not feeling it…" Are you pasting on a smile, wishing the holidays were over already? If so, you’re in the right place.  Hi, I’m Cheryl - Wife, girl mom, and Jesus follower. 32 | Biblical Encouragement When Failure Leads to Blessing - Mom Life Devotion
Today's devotion is based on a hunting experience. If hunting is offensive or triggering for you, please stop and listen to next Friday's devotion.   Have you faced discouragement when your plans failed? Did you do everything right, only to have everything go wrong? Are you at a loss of how to keep going? If so, you’re in the right place.  Hi, I’m Cheryl - Wife, girl mom, and Jesus follower. I learned the not-so-secret ways to become the mom my girls needed by prioritizing Jesus back into life, rejecting mom guilt, and discovering what self-esteem really is. If you’re ready to build faith while washing dishes, rediscover your identity and love yourself like your babies do - grab your earbuds and lock the bathroom door for a minute alone, it’s Time for Mom. In this episode, I’m sharing our complete and utterly failed plans led to a blessing that couldn't have happened without our failure so you can be encouraged when your plans don't work out.  We found ourselves praising God for all the things that didn't work out as planned. We had our plans, but God's purpose that prevailed. God's blessings and provision rarely look like I think they should. Life never happens how I want it to, but that doesn't mean God's hand isn't in the circumstance. God is always in the thick of life with us. Time for Mom | Devotion, Self-Esteem, Biblical Encouragement, Routines, SAHM, Guilt, Priorities
