Hello and Happy New Year — welcome to Episode 351 of the Total Saints Podcast, your home for all things Southampton FC.
We start by thanking our incredible TSP Patron community, whose support makes the show possible every week.
The New Year began as the old one ended — with a damp squib.
Saints were held to a boring 0–0 draw at home to Millwall, a game low on quality and talking points.
We discuss:
Is the mood starting to turn on the head coach already? Are Saints becoming too cautious for their own good?
Reports suggest Bayern Munich keeper Daniel Peretz could arrive on loan with a sizeable option to buy.
We debate:
Next up is a trip north to face a Middlesbrough side who haven’t scored in four games.
We look at:
🎧 Plus all the usual fan debate, honest opinions, and Saints perspective you won’t get anywhere else.

Welcome to Episode 350 of the Total Saints Podcast – your home for all things Southampton Football Club!
Saints headed to Birmingham City and came away with a frustrating draw. A poor first half set the tone and even an incredible save couldn't get The Saints back on track.
So what went wrong and what does it say about where Saints are right now?
Are the same old issues creeping back in?
Why does it still feel so hard to turn decent spells into goals?
Neil Crespin is joined by Steve Grant, Glen de la Cour, and Alfie House to dissect the Birmingham performance, pick apart the tactical and psychological sticking points, and ask what Saints need to tighten up immediately.
We also look ahead to the next test: Millwall at home on New Year’s Day. Can The Saints start the new year with a win?
And because it’s Episode 350, we’re celebrating properly: a special quiz to mark the milestone, and a look back to 2017
We also confirm details of an exciting upcoming Total Saints Podcast Live Show at St Mary’s Stadium on Thursday 22nd January 2026, in partnership with the Saints Foundation. Patreon members will receive first access to tickets, with more details coming very soon.

Welcome to Episode 349 of the Total Saints Podcast – your home for all things Southampton Football Club!
Saturday brought another frustrating away day for Saints, as a depressingly familiar performance ended in a 2–1 defeat at Oxford United. Despite dominating possession, Saints once again lacked tempo, incision, and defensive control — conceding late to leave fans asking some uncomfortable questions.
Is the early new-manager bounce already fading?
Are Saints becoming too predictable again?
And has the January transfer window suddenly become even more important?
Neil Crespin is joined by Steve Grant, Glen de la Cour, and Alfie House to pick apart what went wrong at Oxford, why Saints struggled to turn possession into threat, and whether this is a wobble to ride out — or a warning sign that deeper issues are resurfacing.
The panel also looks ahead to a quick return to action away at Birmingham, just weeks after Saints beat them at St Mary’s, with suspensions and injuries for Blues adding extra intrigue to Monday night’s clash.

Welcome to Episode 348 of the Total Saints Podcast – your home for all things Southampton Football Club!
In the final game before Christmas, Saints were held to a 1–1 draw at St Mary’s by league leaders Coventry City — a result that felt both fair and frustrating.
Despite playing over 45 minutes against ten men after an early second-half red card, Saints couldn’t find a winner. We break down where it went wrong, whether it was a missed opportunity, and what it tells us about this side under Tonda Eckert.
We also look ahead to Boxing Day, as Saints travel north to face Oxford United — a struggling side in the bottom three, but one capable of causing problems on their own patch.
Martin Starke is joined this week by Steve Grant (SaintsWeb), Glen de la Cour (League One Minus 10), and George Rees-Julian (Daily Echo).
COVENTRY CITY REVIEW
• Another soft goal conceded from a cross — and familiar defensive issues
• Coventry reduced to ten men early in the second half
• Nathan Wood scores his first Saints goal to level the game
• Over 45 minutes against ten men — why couldn’t Saints force a winner?
• Tactical questions around shape, substitutions, and attacking intent
• Gavin Bazunu going up for a late corner… then playing it short
• Post-match flashpoints and Frank Lampard losing his cool
• Five unbeaten under Eckert — but the first home game not won since his arrival

Hello and welcome to Episode 347 of the Total Saints Podcast, your home for all things Southampton Football Club.
Saturday lunchtime brought an unwelcome throwback for Saints, as old problems resurfaced in a frustrating 2–1 defeat away at Norwich City. Against an injury-hit side rooted in the bottom three, Saints missed chances, struggled to control the game, and were punished by crosses into the box. We look back at a dreadful performance that we never truly looked like winning — and ask whether this was simply a bad day or a more worrying sign.
We also turn our attention to another lunchtime kick-off, with league leaders Coventry City heading to St Mary’s. On paper, it looked like a mouth-watering fixture. After the weekend, it suddenly feels like a far tougher test.
Norwich Review – A 2–1 defeat at Carrow Road as Saints struggle to impose themselves against a bottom-three side
What Went Wrong – Missed chances, defensive issues, and a worrying return of old habits
Coventry Preview – Can Saints respond against the league leaders at St Mary’s?

Welcome to Episode 346 of the Total Saints Podcast – your home for all things Southampton Football Club!
This week, Martin Starke is joined by Glen de la Cour, Alfie House, and debut guest Rob Maddox (SaintRob) to break down a dramatic night at St Mary’s and look ahead to Saturday’s trip to Carrow Road.
Saints made it three home wins in a row… but they certainly didn’t make it comfortable. After a blistering first half and a 3–0 lead, Tonda Eckert’s side were forced to hang on as West Brom clawed back two goals from set pieces.
We discuss:
Plus, the panel revisit the goalkeeper conversation… and whether January might be the time for change.
We’re joined by Connor Southwell as Norwich undergo yet another shift in direction following the arrival of new manager Philippe Clement.

Welcome to Episode 344 of the Total Saints Podcast – your home for all things Southampton Football Club!
This week, Martin Starke is joined by Steve Grant (SaintsWeb), Glen de la Cour (League One Minus Ten) and Alfie House (Daily Echo) to break down Southampton’s dramatic 3–2 defeat at Millwall and look ahead to two huge home games at St Mary’s.
Southampton’s winning run comes to an end in gut-punch fashion, with Millwall scoring a 97th-minute winner at The Den. But was the performance more frustrating than the result? The team analyses where Saints were undone, what Millwall got right tactically, and how much the absence of Leo Scienza and Flynn Downes affected the flow of the game.

Southampton have sacked Will Still.
The club confirmed on Sunday evening that the Men’s First-Team Manager, along with Rubén Martinez, Clément Lemaitre and Carl Martin, has left the club, with U21 Head Coach Tonda Eckert taking charge on an interim basis.
Group Technical Director Johannes Spors said: “Will is a great person who gave everything to try and improve performances and results. Ultimately, that process has taken longer than any of us would have liked…”
With that seismic news breaking just as we started recording, Episode 339 of the Total Saints Podcast is packed.
This week:
• Preston Review – Saints beaten 2-0 at St Mary’s, drop to 21st in the table, and the atmosphere turns toxic.
• Players arguing with fans, boos echoing around the ground, and Will Still’s post-match admission: “There isn’t an instant fix.”
• Comparing this slump to 2008/09 – is this as bad as it gets?
• Reaction to the club’s managerial statement and the growing unrest around Sport Republic.
• QPR Preview – two fixtures that were supposed to define Will Still’s future… before fate intervened.
Join Martin Starke, Steve Grant, Glen de la Cour, and Alfie House as they unpack a chaotic week on and off the pitch.

⚠️ Light language warning – a few choice words in this one!
Welcome to Episode 338 of the Total Saints Podcast – your home for all things Southampton Football Club!
Plenty to cover this week:
• Bristol City Review – Another trip to Ashton Gate, another 3–1 defeat. Back-to-back losses two seasons apart, and over 50 years since we’ve taken a point there. What went wrong after such a bright start?
• Blackburn Review – A week that somehow got worse. Saints arrived at Ewood Park sitting 18th, faced one of the few sides below them… and still managed to lose. Was this Will Still’s lowest moment yet?
• Selection Chaos & Substitution Madness – Four changes, early saves from McCarthy, a straight-red for Welington, and fans chanting “You don’t know what you’re doing”. The pressure is building – hard.
• Preston Preview – Saints return to St Mary’s next Saturday, desperate for a reaction. But with suspensions, illness and injuries mounting… where’s the next win coming from?
We also touch on:
• Forum frustration and calls for change
• Juventus reportedly eyeing up Saints’ sporting director Johannes Spors
All that and more, plus the latest from our Prediction League and your usual dose of Saints therapy from Steve Grant, Glen de la Cour and Alfie House, guest hosted this week by Neil Crespin.

Welcome to Episode 337 of the Total Saints Podcast – your home for all things Southampton Football Club!
Plenty to cover this week:
• Swansea Review – Another frustrating afternoon at St Mary’s as Saints were held to a goalless draw by Swansea. Will Still called it “one of our best performances of the season,” but was it really? 21 shots, 3.26 xG, and still no goal — we break it all down.
• Bristol City Preview – A tricky midweek trip to Ashton Gate. Can Saints finally turn dominance into points and end their run of home draws?
• Blackburn Preview – Another away day follows on Saturday, with Rovers struggling near the bottom. Is this the perfect chance to build some momentum?
• Plus, we catch up on Saints Women in the League Cup and check in on how the Prediction League is shaping up!
