We're covering a film that lots of people have probably seen but not in this high a quality. The 25th anniversary of Dogma is being celebrated with a 4K release of the best (?) Kevin Smith film, now that he's got the rights back. Me and Captain J watch it and talk a little about the impact Kevin Smith has had on out worlds... it's not just that one scene, honest.
Also as I thought there wouldn't be too much to talk about a film everybody has seen, I knocked up a little quiz about the year 1999 and, snuck in quick quiz of 'Are you an UN-ALIVE?" turns out there was a fair amount to talk about, and even then I don't think we even scratched the surface of what a wonderful film this was and still is
Dogma is showing in theatres around the place and probably getting every possible physical release you can think of, with multiple bonus features. Head down to you local Tower records or HMV or FOPP, to get a copy

It's spooky season, so I handed the reigns of the show over to Nona, the person who digs through trash dumpsters for horrendous horror films, and challenged them to give me 3 decent ones that may have been overlooked.
I do my best co-host impression by adding in things they remind me of, or random films that come to mind.
Contributions from the socials also give us some fairly obscure movies you might want to note down and, take a little looky at.
Films covered
Deathgasm
The Loved Ones
Maniac
Murder Party
Dust Devil
The Company of wolves
The Sentinal
Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl
Revenge of the Surfboarding Killer Bikini Girls
Shutter Island? &
The Gate
A welcome mention of "Todd and the Book of Pure Evil" (Sh*t Roosters unite) and the usual Gillian Anderson worship round off the show.

When did you first watch the Texas Chain Saw Massacre? If the first time you saw it, it was in 4K, we're gonna sound like dinosaurs but, so is everyone else in this "documentary" about the legendary film
Chain Reactions is an exploration of Tobe Hooper’s cult-classic, featuring never-before-seen outtakes and interviews with Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King and Karyn Kusama.
Directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (Lynch/Oz, The Origins of Alien), the doc had its World premiere at Venice Film Festival last year, before screening at a string of International festivals – including BFI (London), Night Visions (Finland), Sitges (Spain) and MIFF (Australia).
Fifty years after Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre shocked the world, this feature-length documentary charts the film's profound impact and lasting influence on five great artists – Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King and Karyn Kusama.

Gleaming the cube, more like... Skateboarding and getting off with your dead adopted brothers girlfriend while anti communist propaganda makes you wear chinos
ThatFkingGuy and Sunset Skip (Rich) meet up and talk about a movie, but not just any movie, it's Skips all time favourite movie of ALL TIME!.
"A young avid skateboarder uncovers a conspiracy while investigating his adoptive brother's mysterious death."
The write up on IMDB doesn't let on to much, it totally doesn't mention that it features some totally gnarley grindage from some of the top skaters of the day, some sweet sweeeeeeet stunts, totally rad funeral dress and Frosted tips!!!
That's not even going into the weird romantic relationship and possible anti-communism sub plot.

We get a little bit political with this weeks entry for DOCtober. That's right, instead of spooky stuff were talking documentaries, but this shows entry does feature the scariest monster that ever lived. Thankfully despite still haunting peoples dreams like Freddy she hasn't risen from the dead like Jason or that Myers fella
THE IRON LADIES
The inspiring story of working-class women who, during the 1984–85 Miners' Strike, found themselves at the forefront of a battle against the British state. From Scotland down to Kent, women from the coalfields shed light on their experiences of the year long struggle, and how they became the backbone of the Strike. With many still active today, their actions reshaped the landscape of political activism for working-class women.
Directed by Daniel Draper (Nature of the Beast), Iron Ladies is a celebration of the iron willed women who maintained the 1984/85 Miners' Strike as they fought for the future of their communities.
Iron Ladies shines a spotlight on the previously overlooked narratives of women, who still fight for their communities today. Heather Wood, Lorraine Stansbie, Rose Hunter, Kate Alvey, Betty Cook, and Aggie Currie are amongst the 20 unsung working-class heroes to share their stories.
Iron Ladies will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 10th October

Me and J watch a film about a hecking good doggo
This game-changing supernatural horror is told from an entirely new perspective, that of man's best friend. Star of the movie, Indy, has already received acclaim for his gripping performance, winning SXSW Film Festival's coveted "Howl of Fame Award".
Directed by Ben Leonberg (The Fisherman's Wife) and produced by Kari Fischer, who are both Indy's real-life humans, Good Boy has already gained a devoted following. The film's cult status continues to soar among both fans and critics, with the film now boasting an impressive 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes*.
Critics have praised the film, with Dread Central saying it is "primed to be one of the most chilling movies of 2025." However, future fans have only been able to angst over Indy's fate. The film's recent trailer launch has caused a 2000% Google spike in searches over the film's ending.
Good Boy follows a loyal dog as he moves to a rural family home with his owner Todd, only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities threaten his human companion, the brave pup must fight to protect the one he loves most.
Good Boy, will be coming to UK & Irish cinemas from 10th October.

Are you a virgin?
This might be the film for you
Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror is set for a UK release, with an exclusive first look at the new artwork.
The film will celebrate its UK Premiere at Sheffield DocFest on 19th June, screening at SCI-FI-LONDON Film Festival on 22nd June, before having its Irish Premiere at GAZE on August 3rd, with additional previews and festival screenings soon to be announced. Following its festival run, fans will be able to experience the ultimate ode to all things Rocky Horror in cinemas across the UK & Ireland from 3rd October.
In this SXSW hit, the cult phenomenon of Rocky Horror is explored in depth like never before with an extraordinary cast of contributors.
From humble origins as a London fringe theatre play to its meteoric rise as the biggest cult film of all time, this is the definitive story of the Rocky Horror Show. With intimate access to its creator Richard O’Brien and other major players such as Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Lou Adler, the documentary explores what makes the play and film so singular: Its groundbreaking and transgressive themes, iconic performances and epic songs that took over popular culture.
Adding an extra personal layer to this film, Strange Journey is directed by Linus O'Brien, son of the legendary Richard O'Brien, creator of the cult phenomenon.
The documentary features revelatory interviews from the film's original cast including Tim Curry (Clue, It), Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise, Dead Man Walking), Barry Bostwick (Megaforce, Spin City), Patricia Quinn (Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, The Lords of Salem), and Nell Campbell (Great Expectations, Shock Treatment).
Celebrity fans such as Jack Black (A Minecraft Movie, School of Rock) and RuPaul's Drag Race winner Trixie Mattel also appear, sharing deeply personal reflections on Rocky Horror’s cultural impact.

In this show Nona Tells us about her love of KPop Demon hunters and talks general cinema love... also we talk about a bucket... A LOT!

This podcast is scheduled for 2 fools. ThatFKingGuy and Oodles from Modern Escapism and Do Dragons Dream of Scorched Sheep, a man well known for his love of the art form known as professional wrestling. This week we're talking about the lady wrestler Mildred Burkes Biopic "Queen of the Ring". A film Oodles is shocked to find out is about REAL PEOPLE.
Queen of the Ring has an all-star line-up including Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow), Josh Lucas (Ford V Ferrari), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Francesca Eastwood (Juror #2), Cara Buono (Stranger Things), Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood), Damaris Lewis (BlackKkKlansman), with Gavin Casalegno (Noah) and Walton Goggins (The White Lotus) completing the card.
Queen of the Ring is a Sumerian Pictures Production, written and directed by Ash Avildsen (Paradise City). The film tells the remarkable true story of Mildred Burke, the first million-dollar female athlete in world history and the longest reigning champion of female wrestling. Based on the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jeff Leen, the film follows ‘Millie,’ a young single mother from a small town who defies societal norms by becoming a female pro-wrestler at a time when the sport was illegal across most of the United States.
Despite her success throughout the 40s and 50s, Millie's journey is marked by personal struggles, including raising her son on the road, the tragic death of her wrestling protégé in the ring and a tumultuous relationship with her manager and ex-husband, Billy Wolfe.
Her story highlights triumphs such as being the first woman to headline over men, bringing women of colour into the sport, and participating in the first female "shoot match” i.e. real combat without a script for a title fight. Millie’s remarkable tale shattered the limitations of what a girl could become in entertainment and sports and is an unforgettable slice of post-war Americana.
Queen of the Ring
captures the golden age of female pro-wrestling when one gritty, glamorous woman risked everything in her life to change culture forever.
It will be available in select UK cinemas from 19th September.

Nona found an advert for this film online, SWERVE!!! turns out the advert WAS the film. Join us as we fall down a rabbit hole of bizarre micro “films” that make us yearn for the days when Heather Graham was telling us about her sister being a drug addict.
Also includes a little wrestling talk. Apparently Rhea Ripley looks like she can carry a sofa bed upstairs by herself. Which is why I’ve added a gratuitous picture of her on the cover art to get a few bonus hits.
