This is a podcast focusing on all types of true crime: solved cases, unsolved, missing and survivor stories. I became an R.N in 2007 and received my AAS in criminal investigations in 2009 in order to become a SANE nurse. I interned with my father, one of the top Forensic Consultants in the country. I am a DV/SA survivor who fought relentlessly to have my attacker brought to justice. I am a friend to victims who have lost their lives, some received justice and some have not. I've been there as their families fought for their loved ones. Now I want to talk about it & I hope you want to join me!

Carlee Russell Case Update: Arrest, Charges and Sentencing, Was it Fair?

Carlee Russell was officially sentenced for her crimes of false reporting. In July of 2023 Carlee called 911 at 9:34p and a family members girlfriend just minutes after calling the police and claimed that a toddler was walking alone along the highway. While on the phone with the family members girlfriend, Carlee screams and the line goes dead. Police arrive on the scene within minutes to find Carlee's car and personal belongings but, no Carlee. They also do not find an abandoned toddler nor was there any current reports of missing children in the area. 49 hours later Carlee resurfaces at her parents. Gives police her story. And quite a story it was. The police were unable to verify any part of the statement that she gave other than Carlee was on the I-459 highway at 9:30pm the night of July 13th, 2023. Pretty quickly it came out that Carlee was lying and had made up the entire thing to get an ex boyfriends attention... yes, unfortunately you read that correctly. This episode will go over the Hoover PD's investigation, what led to Carlee's charges, her arrest, plea bargain and sentencing. We will also cover the effects that her false reporting had on her community and potentially how it could effect missing woman reports in the future.
