This is a podcast focusing on all types of true crime: solved cases, unsolved, missing and survivor stories. I became an R.N in 2007 and received my AAS in criminal investigations in 2009 in order to become a SANE nurse. I interned with my father, one of the top Forensic Consultants in the country. I am a DV/SA survivor who fought relentlessly to have my attacker brought to justice. I am a friend to victims who have lost their lives, some received justice and some have not. I've been there as their families fought for their loved ones. Now I want to talk about it & I hope you want to join me!

*The International Death of Colin Madsen Pt. 1** Was it Murder by Russian Authorities or A Tragic Accident? (Un)Solved Saturday Ep. 9

Episode 9 of Solved Saturday, but is this really solved?

What do you do when your child leaves to study abroad and all of a sudden you find out that, while there, he had died under very confusing circumstances that just don't seem to match up to the evidence at all? In a country that has put America on its list of Unfriendly countries? In other words, they don't like us.

That is what happened in the case of Colin Madsen. While studying at the Irkutsk State Linguistic University in Russia, Colin very suddenly and mysteriously dies while on a hiking trip with 3 friends. Through his Mother, Dana's, determination she uncovers what looks to be blatant corruption, lies and a cover up on the end of the Russian Authorities. The US government tells her that they have no jurisdiction and cannot help her in any way.

Is this just irrational thoughts of a grieving mother? Or is Colin's death a cover up? I'll leave that for you to decide. But, I think once you hear the details and evidence of Colin's case, you will be shocked. This is part 1 of 2.

Living the Lyrics Series Ep. 1 *The Life, Death and Career of Philadelphia Rapper Rakim Allen Aka PnB Rock*

The *Living The Lyrics* series episode 1 focuses on the life death and career of Rapper PnB Rock. This episode goes over Rakim Allen's early life and the struggles that motivated his music aspirations, it will detail his musical success and breakdown the heartbreaking and unbelievably, unnecessary and violent death and robbery in a well known restaurant in Los Angeles. A post that was put up on his girlfriends IG that tagged their location began a back and forth over whether or not it was safe to put up locations if you are a person of reputation and means. When is it ok to wear all the jewelry if your out just running errands? Should the record labels hold life insurance on some of their artists? Is it the labels responsibility to provide security for their artists? What happens if their is not a will in place? In the event of a crime or homicide, California(and most other States, if not all) require that an autopsy be done. In the case of PnB Rock that went against his religious beliefs. We go over all these questions and the details of the actual crime itself and what happened to the people involved in the murder/robbery? A bit of a spoiler... it's a whole family event. So, come and join me on this breakdown of the life, death and career of PnB Rock.

Carlee Russell Case Update: Arrest, Charges and Sentencing, Was it Fair?

Carlee Russell was officially sentenced for her crimes of false reporting. In July of 2023 Carlee called 911 at 9:34p and a family members girlfriend just minutes after calling the police and claimed that a toddler was walking alone along the highway. While on the phone with the family members girlfriend, Carlee screams and the line goes dead. Police arrive on the scene within minutes to find Carlee's car and personal belongings but, no Carlee. They also do not find an abandoned toddler nor was there any current reports of missing children in the area. 49 hours later Carlee resurfaces at her parents. Gives police her story. And quite a story it was. The police were unable to verify any part of the statement that she gave other than Carlee was on the I-459 highway at 9:30pm the night of July 13th, 2023. Pretty quickly it came out that Carlee was lying and had made up the entire thing to get an ex boyfriends attention... yes, unfortunately you read that correctly. This episode will go over the Hoover PD's investigation, what led to Carlee's charges, her arrest, plea bargain and sentencing. We will also cover the effects that her false reporting had on her community and potentially how it could effect missing woman reports in the future.

If you like what I'm doing here and want to support this podcast, you can buy me a coffee here and help to continue to get the stories out of crime victims and missing persons.

25 y/o Unsolved Colorado Cold Case Part 2: Where are Paul Skiba, Sarah Skiba and Lorenzo Chivers? Will Police Mistakes Result in this Case Never Being Solved?

A little over 25 years ago Paul Skiba heads out to work with his employee Lorenzo Chivers, bringing his 9 year old daughter along with him. It was Paul's weekend to have his visitation with Sarah and sometimes he brought her to work with him. And she loved to going to work with her Dad. This particular weekend was a tough one for Paul. He had told his long time on/off again girlfriend that this time it was off for good and she had to leave his house by Sunday night before he got home from work.

But, Paul never came home after work that Sunday night and Sarah was never taken back to her mothers house either. Lorenzo never made it back to his either. All 3 were missing. Seemingly they vanished, disappearing without a trace.

If you expected the Police to jump in and help... well... you would definitely be disappointed. The police didn't take any of their disappearances seriously. They assumed that Paul had taken off with Sarah to go "joy riding" and he would bring her back eventually. No mention of where Lorenzo would be. When bullet holes and blood were found on one of the moving trucks and pieces of scalp with hair still attached were found on another of the Moving Trucks, (this one driven by Paul that Sunday) the police were still completely unconcerned. The bullet holes probably happened during a road rage incident. Even though no such incident had been reported and the truck didn't even have an engine. The blood was probably just a cut or a nosebleed. Besides, they were sure that this wasn't even their jurisdiction (it was). So, a lot of valuable time was wasted and vital evidence was compromised or just lost completely. Both men's personal vehicles were missing. Eventually, the evidence was so compelling and there was so much of it, that the Police HAD to get involved. This is just the barely scraping the top of the barrel of everything that went down with the case. A legal battle for Paul's business takes place, a baby that Paul wasn't even sure was his when he disappeared is now involved, the girlfriend he was kicking out comes forward and claims to be his wife all while all 3 of these amazing people are still missing.

Last month was the 25th anniversary of their disappearances. It is still Unsolved and unbelievably cold. Join me for Part 2 of the story of Paul and Sarah Skiba and Lorenzo Chivers.

The 15y (Solved) True Crime Cold Case of 18y College Freshman Anita Knutson Ft. Cold Justice Pt 2

There were 15 cold cases in North Dakota up until last year. Anita Knutson's case was one of those 15 and probably the most well known case, or atleast one of the most well known. Anita's case sat cold for 15 years until the Tv show Cold Justice came in to help. June 4, 2007, Gordon Knutson drives 1 hour to his Daughter Anita's apartment to check on her after not being able to get a hold of her all weekend. Anita had just finished her freshman year at Minot State University where she was studying Elementary Education. Once Gordon arrives at his daughters apartment he sees her car parked in the driveway. But repeated knocks on the door got no answer. Concerned for his daughter he get a hold of the Property Manager who comes to the apartment with the Maintenance Man. They go around the building where Gordon sees Anita's bedroom window wide open with the screen completely gone. He goes over to the window and looks inside. Gordon sees his beautiful 18y daughter face down on her bed. He reached through the window and touched Anita's head. She was cold. It was obvious to Gordon that his daughter was gone and was far beyond the point of being able to be helped. 15 years go by with no developments to Anita's case and Cold Justice comes in to film a 2 part 100th episode. Based off of their investigation they were able to arrest someone that had been on their radar for years. What did Cold Justice do that the Minot P.D. couldn't or didn't do? According to Minot PD, the reason they could not solve Anita's case was because they didn't have the focus to do it and didn't spend the time on it that they should have. These are their words and it is infuriating!! Cold Justice did not uncover new evidence they just put existing evidence together in an order that made sense. All things the P.D. could have done but did not spend the time on it to do! There is so much information on this case that this will be a multiple part case. This is Part 2. WTH Happened in Kansas City?? What We Know so Far About a Football Gathering that Left 3 Men Mysteriously Dead and Families Demanding Answers

What in the world happened in Kansas City the night of January 7, 2024?

How did a friendly gathering of (apparently) 5 people to watch a football game, end with 3 of the men dying mysteriously in the backyard. In Freezing temperatures. In the snow. 1 without his jacket.

The men went undiscovered for 48 hours until one of the men's fiancée came over and, after breaking in with no response from anyone, she goes around back and see's one of the men deceased on the porch area. She immediately calls law enforcement.

Remember, it had been 48 hours since anyone had contact with any of the men Eventually, police make contact with the homeowner who had been asleep for all of those 48 hours.

At first, according to everyone(the families, homeowner, atty), there was just the 4 men referenced in everyone's story. Then, out of Nowhere, a 5th man who had tried to stay anonymous the entire time lawyers up and comes forward. Now, we have this 5th attendee of the party. Why didn't anyone bring up this person?

From the very start of this investigation the police have been Adamant(!!) that this was NoT a criminal investigation of any kind and was not being looked at as a homicide. This really ticked off the families and everyone is speaking out!!

We are waiting on the toxicology reports so the cause and manner of death can be determined.

Why are police so certain that nothing criminal happened? What do the families think about what what caused their loved ones deaths? This episode is everything we know so far. An update video will be done after the toxicology results and cause/manner of death are announced.

The Mystery of The Glass Men and The Glass Delusion *History's Mysteries Ep. 5*

Happy New Year!! Welcome to Episode 5 of History's Mysteries.

This episode we discuss the Medieval(and not so Medieval) times mental illness that tended to afflict Men of the highest means: Royalty, Nobleman, Wealthy and the Intellectual. Why it seemed to effect men the most(or did it), how it was diagnosed, how it was treated and then why it suddenly went away as fast as it appeared.

Mental illnesses are often thought of as being modern development but it is definitely not, there is nothing new about mental illness.

This episode takes a look into mental illness, the diagnosis and treatment far before we had the information and research and medication that we do now.

Deep Dive into the Australian Financial Ponzi Scheme/Crimes of Melissa Caddick *Bonus* 3 Part Holiday Series Part 3

For this weeks case we are heading down under to Australia to talk about the financial schemes/crimes of Miss Melissa Caddick. This is a bonus 3 part series as we take a really Deep Dive into Melissa as a person, her background, her crimes, the victims and the bizarre body part that resulted in her being declared legally dead. But is she? Melissa was responsible for defrauding 72 people. And unlike a lot of other financial or Ponzi schemes NONE of the victims were strangers to Melissa. Quite the opposite. They were all close family members, life long childhood friends and their families. Melissa had a need for a high luxury lifestyle and was perfectly fine with using the money her friends and family worked so hard to earn then entrusted with her to invest for them. Cars, homes, jewelry, purses, travel, all of the stolen money funded these high price items for Melissa. And as these things tend to do, it all came crumbling down on Nov. 11, 2020 when a raid took place at her multi million dollar Dover Heights home. So, when a body part washes ashore several months after the raid took place, people wonder was this another scam? Esp when the condition of the body part and the clothing do not match the timeframe that Melissa had been missing. *** This is a bonus series. Due to the holidays the normal schedule has been switched up a bit. But this is a 3 part Deep Dive that I think you guys are going to love. They will be released one after the other. So, 3 parts in 3 days. *** If you want to help support me and and the podcast, I just recently opened up a "Buy Me a Coffee" account. I will include the link below. The 2016 Disappearance and Murder of Karena McClerkin *Solved Saturday Ep.7*

"The whole of Kokomo is grieving", "Justice for Ree", "Now we fight"

"Because of her race, age and situation, no one seems to care"

"I heard what sounded like a struggle or a fight"

"I heard someone gasping or whimpering"

"I believe I saw a person covered and lying on the floor"

All of these are quotes and/or statements that are attributed to the investigation and murder of Karena McClerkin in Kokomo, IN.

At such a young age, still a teenager, Karena was battling some very adult and very grown up demons. At a crossroads, Karena has to decide the direction that she wants to take her life in.

Karena was battling with addiction and had decided she was going to get her things in order to head to a rehab facility in Florida and take back control of her life.

Enter in: 51 year old Flint Vincent Farmer. He was Karena's enabler, alleged drug dealer, and it really seemed like he preyed on her addiction to get things from her. He is also(allegedly) her murderer.

Solved Saturday Episode Ep. 7 covers the 2016 disappearance and murder of Karena S. McClerkin.

Where is Lord Lucan? Full Breakdown of The Lord's History, Marriage, the Murder and His (Possible) Escape *History's Mysteries Ep. 4*

For this months History's Mysteries Ep. 4 we are jumping across the pond to discuss one of Britain's most well known criminal and missing persons cases. The murder of Sandra Rivett and the disappearance of Lord Lucan.

There are so many twists and turns to this case . There are Sightings, facial recognition, an adoptive son that comes back to fight for justice for his birth mother that he didn't know about.

Soo many theories(including Arnold Schwartzenegger's alleged involvement as a hired hitman), direct ties to the Kydd side of Princess Diana's family, gambling, divorce, and Lord Lucan's consideration for the part of James Bond.

Who killed Sandra Rivett? Did Lord Lucan die the night of November 7th? Did he escape and live a long life under an assumed name? Is he still alive in Australia?

This episode was originally going to be a History's mysteries episode but because of the timing of the 1st of the month and Mystery Monday(not to mention the size of the episode) this upload will serve as a History's Mysteries in addition to a Mystery Monday episode. This is a big episode and I didn't want to upload back to back. That way neither episode get s overshadowed by the other. Next week uploads will be back to the normal schedule.

The Unsolved Disappearance of Macin Smith; Was he a Runaway or Do His Parents Know More Than They are Saying? *Mystery Monday Ep. 14

This weeks Mystery Monday Ep. 14 focuses on the 2015 disappearance of Macin Smith. This is definitely a different case than I normally research because almost every theory has viable potential. There is a very likely possibility that Macin is still out there, just living his life away from his parents.

But, there is also I think an equal likelihood that Macin is no longer with us, whether it is via the parents theory that Macin died of self infliction, or more along the lines of the police's suspicion, and that the parents(specifically the father) know more than they are saying and have possible involvement.

The parents timeline does not add up and has quite a few discrepancies in it. The father made a weeks long trip to Las Vegas after Macin went missing to "search" for Macin on his own but yet would not participate in any of the searches done in Utah to look for his son. What happened in Vegas? What happened at the house the night of August 31- the morning of Sept. 1, 2015?

All of that will be broken down in this episode. And there is a lot to cover!

The Trial and Sentencing of Kaitlin Armstrong in the Texas Love Triangle Murder of Moriah Wilson *Solved Saturday* Ep. 7

This episode covers the recent Trial and Sentencing of convicted killer Kaitlin Armstrong. This is an episode that comes with a trigger warning. I do not normally put trigger warnings on my episodes because true crime as a whole is a pretty unpleasant topic. However this episode is different because their will be audio surveillance evidence that was played in court that shows the audio of a murder being committed as well as very raw and guttural victim impact statements from Moriah's family.

This episode covers the day to day happenings of Kaitlin's trial, verdict and sentencing.

If you need a refresher on what led up to this trial check out my Solved Saturday Ep. 6: A Texas Love Triangle: The Murder of Moriah Wilson.

Episode 14 of Mystery Monday will be on the 2015 disappearance of 17y Macin Smith. This is a preview of the episode. I typically post a Mystery Monday episode every Monday but this ended up being a much bigger case that is going to take a little longer than typical. Mystery Monday will be a full episode next week on November 20, 2023. I cant wait for you to hear about this case. There is so much involved, a possible runaway, a note(suicide note? Maybe?), the police thinking the Father is involved, conflicting statements and timelines, almost a dozen search warrants, sightings in Ca, Arizona, Mexico and Argentina, and more. There is a lot of information to go over! I appreciate your patience and I'll have a full episode of Solved Saturday this Saturday November 18th.

The 2017 Unsolved NYC Disappearance/Trafficking of Corinna Slusser Pt. 2 : The arrests, confronting her traffickers, and why law enforcement refuses to look for her?? * Ep. 13 Mystery Monday*

Part 2 of Mystery Monday: The 2017 NYC disappearance of Corinna Slusser. Last week we discussed Corinna wanting to leave the small town life behind her and setting her sights on New York City. Corinna is in contact with older men who promise her the world and of course never deliver on the promises they give.

New York is not the dream Corinna posts about on her socials and is soon caught up in New York's dark world of sex work and trafficking. She is assaulted and robbed by one of her pimps only to get caught up with another one. She has an argument with him as well and he leaves her at a not so safe, by the hour motel known for working ladies. Corinna decides she wants to go home only to disappear later that night.

Part 2 covers the search for Corinna, the arrest of both of her pimps and her Mother, Sabina's, confrontation with both of them, and her request to the White House for the help that the FBI refuses to give her. Confrontation on the Corinna's Missing FB page, where the investigation stands, why the FBI wont do anything and which theories about Corinna's fate are the most likely and makes the most sense are also covered in this episode.

You will also hear direct from the man who assaulted, robbed and trafficked Corinna as her mother attempts to find answers about her daughter.
