In this episode, I address the deeply concerning issue of sexual abuse in children from birth to age three, highlighting signs, symptoms, and prevention strategies. It focuses on behavioral, physical, and developmental indicators that may signal abuse when children are too young to communicate what is happening to them. The episode also explores risk factors, common warning signs, and why abuse at this age can be particularly difficult to detect. Additionally, guidance is provided on what to do if you suspect abuse, how to respond appropriately, and prevention strategies caregivers and professionals can use to help protect young children.
This episode is presented for educational and awareness purposes only. Every effort has been made to protect the privacy and dignity of both victims and offenders. No identifying information is shared, and all content is discussed with sensitivity, responsibility, and respect for those affected.

This episode includes graphic content related to violence that some listeners may find disturbing.
This episode explores the first murderer I encountered while working in a jail. Right before assessing him for suicide risk, the charges spelled out the word “murderer,” and I expected to hear about the violent killing of a stranger. In reality, he was almost a kid himself and looked completely innocent. This case quickly showed me that a murder charge is not always what it seems — the circumstances were far more complicated than I had imagined, and this was part of what I was learning early in my career. The story offers an eye-opening look at the intensity of the case and the challenges of working in a correctional setting.

***TRIGGER WARNING***
THIS EPISODE CONTAINS EXPLICIT CONTENT of sexual violence that some people may find disturbing.
This podcast contains graphic details of an interview with a convicted pedophile that I once worked with. He agreed to share the details of his sex crime against his two minor granddaughters. FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE. He describes his background prior to the abuse and how the sexual abuse developed, and the ways he molested them. The offender talks about how there were times when various family members were in the same room or house while he was molesting the children. He also disclosed that at one point, one of the victims did tell her parents and how was able to get around it by spinning the situation to the point that the child was again allowed to be around him and he was able to continue sexually abusing her. Additionally, his wife at the time had some level of knowledge and did nothing to protect these children. He discusses how he eventually got caught and the consequences that he faced. Thank you for listening! Please subscribe and share this with anyone you think may find it helpful or interesting.
