So...how much does poop management amplify the challenge level of things for you as a caregiver? Turns out, quite a lot, if you mix in taking care of someone who is hostile, angry and out of their mind from dementia (and possibly brain cancer). You don't want to miss this one....THIS IS A CRAPPY EPISODE.

Truly a title for the ages. One you don't want to miss. No seriously folks...this is a grittier episode and worth the listen for solid advice on how the F to manage things when/if you, as a caregiver for your loved one, have to manage the whole bedside commode situation. It's something nobody talks about it. No one prepares you for it. And believe me when I say that you want to not be caught unawares when/if the bedside commode is sitting there in the middle your reality.

Things are definitely devolving quickly for mom and for all of us. Errant PET scans. Meanwhile...My brother visits and Mom has other friends visit and how does one manage that safely during a Covid pandemic lockdown? Oh and also...3 Vulcans shared hamburgers.

Episode 24 features how to derail a dementia fueled rage rant with tasty pork chops, I slip a disc in my back, mom comes at me with an angry foot and my kids save the day (again).

In episode 23 we get into the real beginning of the end type material. Oxygen condensers. Oxygen hunger. "Comfort Kits". Putting the FUN in "FUNeral" arrangements. And mom washes down chocolate chips with chocolate milk and Chuckles candy.

Episode 22 is titled "The Real Phyllis Morris" because it includes a rare recording of my mom's actual voice. I also include a link in the show notes to an interview I conducted with her back in 2019, before the dementia and cancer had become overpowering. Honestly though, I think this episode is one of the most interesting ones so far. There's also a sort of guest appearance (in deed) by my buddy Garth, from Australia. Good times.

This episode right here is not your run of the mill normal episode about death, dying and dementia, oh heck no. This one is about the infamous 'SHOWDOWN AT PHILPOT LAKE", a day that lives in my memory fiery and bright. How good is this episode? Hint: no one can hear you scream underwater.

Episode 1 of Us At Our Worst is titled: "Good and Plenty with a side of Chuckles" Who knew that Dexamethasone could be THIS much FUN? Nobody. And with mom being a spiritual sage, while not eating 5 lbs of candy, life was just getting more interesting by the day. Tune in!

Episode 17 of Us At Our Worst is titled: "ATLANTA, BACK IN THE 1980'S, JUST TURNED TO TRASH" I mean...with a title like that do you really need more of an incentive to listen?

This was a genuinely challenging episode to say out loud. Secondary Lymphedema still haunts my memory of mom. But have no fear, there is still plenty of plucky comic relief, and downright madness to lift your spirits!
