Coming off the Presidency of Andrew Jackson, we look a look at four major long-term causes of the Civil War.

As we continue our discussion on the Civil War,  the nation finds itself deepening the divide over slavery because of regional differences in belief, traditions and economy.  As different events unfold, the federal government will try a series of Compromises to see if it can put the issue of slavery to rest once and for all. The question is - will it work?
