Back in April, my family and I went to sign a petition to save Strong Start, which is a free, low barrier programs for children to be introduced to many of the activities they would experience at school.
Both of our kids have attended, and it was a very positive experience for us.
At the rally though, I met a politician who was from a political party that I was shocked to see there especially considering their stance on many issues.
As my family and I went home, I was left feeling angry because this person was campaigning (even though we don’t have an election officially starting until October 2024) and doesn’t really believe in the reason that many of us we’re there.
The whole episode is centered around the boundaries that we draw, how can we bring people into a conversation.
We have inherited a culture where people work in these silo’s and there isn’t a conversation to go and talk to other people and hear perspectives that are different than yours.
