The start of a new year can make us want to do more, try harder, and set bigger and better life goals - but what if the invitation is simply to stay planted? In this episode, I reflect on a word that stopped me in Acts 1, share my own baptism story in the Aussie bush, and explore the beautiful biblical imagery of being immersed in Christ and rooted by streams of living water. We’ll look at how Scripture shapes us when we return to it not out of obligation, but out of desire, and why fullness in God isn’t something we strive for - it’s something we experience when we stay close to the source. This episode is a gentle encouragement for the year ahead: to slow down, abide, and let God do the work of sustaining and growing us.

If the end of the year leaves you feeling anxious about your body, your eating, or the pressure to “fix things” before January rolls around, this episode is for you. In today’s conversation, I’m talking honestly about the end-of-year weight gain panic so many of us experience - the overeating at Christmas, the loss of routine, and the familiar urge to course-correct with restriction, rules, and unrealistic resolutions. Together, we’ll gently name what’s really happening beneath the surface and why this cycle isn’t actually about food, discipline, or willpower.
We’ll explore a Christ-centred alternative to fear-driven quick fixes, showing how fixing our eyes on Jesus instead of our bodies allows peace and true transformation to flow. I also touch briefly on the modern body positivity movement - celebrating self-worth is important, but freedom and growth come when our habits and choices are guided by the Spirit, not cultural pressure alone. By the end of this episode, you’ll hear practical, faith-based ways to care for your body, your habits, and your heart over the holiday season and step into 2026 grounded, steady, and at peace.

Some days you wake up and feel… heavy. Not because anything is “wrong,” but because life has quietly worn you down. That’s exactly where I found myself on my last workday of the year - exhausted, emotionally flat, and scraping at the bottom of the barrel. In this episode, I share that personal story, including the unexpected little disasters that pushed me over the edge and the gentle reminder I received from God in the midst of it.
I also reflect on a book I read this year, The Garden Within by Dr Anita Phillips, which gave me beautiful language for sadness and weariness using the imagery of soil. Together, we’ll explore what it looks like to let our heaviness drain safely before God, why it’s okay to feel low, and how His invitation is always the same: come just as you are.
If you’re finishing the year tired, worn out, or quietly carrying too much, this episode is for you. I share the one thing that truly brings rest - and why you don’t have to “fix” yourself first to experience it.
Plus, I finish on a lighter note and share the books I’m hoping to read over summer - because even in rest, a little inspiration is always welcome!

Are you tired of eating on autopilot and ending up unsatisfied? In this episode, I share how to create valuable eating experiences, those “heck yes” moments that bring joy, connection, and meaning. I’ll walk you through three simple questions to help you discern whether food is truly worth it: What? When? and Where? We’ll also talk about navigating holiday food with intention and explore Proverbs 24:13-14, which beautifully links the pleasure of food with the wisdom of discernment. By the end, you’ll feel empowered to eat joyfully, be present, and make choices that honour both your body and your season of life.

I used to think exercise was all about punishment - burning off food, fixing flaws, or “earning” my worth. But over time, I’ve discovered a completely different way to move: exercise as worship. In this episode, I share what it looks like to reframe movement from shame to gratitude, from self-loathing to stewardship, and from punishment to presence. We explore how God calls us to honour the very good bodies He’s given us, how even simple acts of movement can become moments to meet Him, and why health conditions or limitations don’t disqualify us from celebrating our bodies. I also share practical ways to bring worship into your daily movement, whether it’s a walk, a stretch, or lifting weights - so that exercise becomes a space to feel God’s strength, presence, and love.

In this episode, I open up about my own journey of moving away from using food as a reward and learning to see it as the blessing God always intended it to be. I share how diet culture shaped my thinking for years, leading me into patterns of deprivation, nighttime overeating, guilt, and “starting again on Monday.” I talk honestly about the exhausting season of motherhood when I had four boys under seven, how giving so much of myself - physically and emotionally - left me searching for comfort and escape, and how food often became the quickest relief.
Together, we explore why treating food as something we have to earn disconnects us from our bodies, fuels emotional eating, and keeps us stuck in the restrict-binge cycle. Then I walk through what it looks like to embrace a biblical perspective instead - seeing food as God’s daily provision, not a prize or a test. I share six practical steps you can start using right away to shift your mindset and build a more peaceful, grounded, God-honouring relationship with food.
If you’ve ever felt trapped in food rules, reward patterns, or cycles of guilt, this episode will help you imagine a gentler way forward - one marked by nourishment, gratitude, and freedom.

Have you ever finished a meal - or a weekend full of food and wine — and found yourself wondering, “Did I just overeat? Was that a sin?” I know I have, and it’s a question that came up for me after a recent weekend away in the Barossa Valley. In this episode, I’m sharing a compassionate, biblical perspective on a topic many of us quietly wrestle with overeating. We’ll explore six key truths that help us understand what overeating really is - and what it isn’t. From the Bible’s portrayal of food as a gift, to the heart posture behind gluttony, to the physiological realities of hunger, exhaustion, and stress, we’ll unpack how God meets us in our humanity with grace, not shame. I also share one of my favourite Scripture stories - Elijah under the broom tree - as a tender reminder of how God cares for our bodies and our hearts before He calls us to action. By the end of this episode, you’ll walk away with a clearer, gentler understanding of your hunger, your body, and your heart. You’ll be encouraged to approach food, fullness, and your own needs with curiosity instead of guilt, and you’ll be reminded that God’s goodness and provision are not measured by portion sizes - He simply wants you to taste and see that He is good.

What does it really mean to live a good and flourishing life – and how do virtues fit into that picture? This week, I’m diving into a topic I didn’t expect to love quite so much: virtue. When I first studied it earlier this year, I had no idea how deeply it was tied to human flourishing, calling, and spiritual growth. But what I discovered changed the way I think about faith, purpose, and the way we live out our vocation every day.
In this episode, I’ll unpack what virtues are, why they matter so much for those of us who want to reflect Christ in our work and relationships, and how they’re essential to living a truly fruitful and flourishing life. I’ll also share some of my own challenges in ministry – like striving, busyness, comparison, and people-pleasing – and how God’s grace has met me in each one.
Whether you’re in formal ministry, leading in your workplace, or simply trying to live faithfully in the everyday, this conversation will encourage you to grow in Christlike character and to see your calling through the lens of virtue and grace.

This week has stretched me thin - renovations, solo parenting, and a whole lot of chaos! In the middle of the noise and the mess, I’ve been reminded how easy it is to chase what’s temporary and forget where true strength and beauty come from. In this episode, I share honestly about feeling weary and how God has been meeting me through Isaiah 40 - a passage that reminds us that while everything else fades, His Word stands forever. If you’ve been feeling tired, distracted, or longing for something steady to hold onto, join me as we rediscover the beauty of resting in God’s unchanging strength.

In this episode, I’m diving into a word that might not sound glamorous — but it’s truly the secret to lasting transformation in every area of life: sustainability. If you’ve ever started a new diet, workout plan, or routine with all the best intentions, only to burn out or give up a few weeks later, this one’s for you. I share honestly about my own years of stop–start habits and what finally helped me build healthy rhythms that actually last — including how lowering the bar with movement turned me from a “wannabe runner” into a true walker (and eventually, a hiker at heart!). We’ll talk about why sustainability matters, what it looks like in real life, and how to apply it specifically to your eating habits — with practical, grace-filled encouragement for creating meals that are both physiologically and psychologically satisfying. Because the truth is, the goal isn’t perfection — it’s building a lifestyle that works for your real life, in your real season. By the end, you’ll see why slow and steady really does win the race — and how falling in love with the process (not just the outcome) leads to peace, freedom, and long-term success in your health and faith journey.

In this week’s episode, I share my journey of finally embracing resistance training and how I’m using James Clear’s Atomic Habits to make it stick. I talk honestly about the resistance I’ve had to lifting weights, the stories I’ve told myself, and how I’m learning to trust both God and myself to take consistent, faithful action. I break down the four laws of behaviour change and show how I’ve applied them to create a simple, sustainable habit - complete with cues, rewards, and strategies that make it obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying. Whether you’re trying to build new habits, grow in self-trust, or simply show up for yourself in small, meaningful ways, this episode is full of encouragement, practical tips, and a reminder that God works in you every step of the way.

In this episode, I get personal and dive into a topic that touches so many of us - body image. I share my own journey, from loving my body as a dancer in childhood to experiencing shame, criticism, and the long-lasting impact of negative body image after pregnancy and childbirth. We explore where these struggles come from - cultural pressures, family influences, personal experiences - and how they take root early in life. Then, we look at the Bible, from Genesis 3 to the New Testament, to see how sin distorts our perception and how Jesus offers true restoration. I unpack practical and biblical ways to start seeing ourselves as God sees us, free from shame, clothed in Christ, and on the path to a healthier, God-centred view of our bodies.

In this episode, I’m opening up about those tough “bad body image” days we all have - when our reflection, our clothes, or even our stomach feels off, and it’s tempting to spiral into self-criticism, restrictive habits, or emotional eating. I share four practical ways I’ve learned to navigate these moments with grace, perspective, and faith. From avoiding body checking and negative self-talk, to choosing comfortable clothing and nourishing your body with balance, I want to remind you that your worth isn’t defined by a number on the scale or what the mirror shows. It’s rooted in God’s love for you and the intentional way He made you.

In this episode, I continue the conversation from last week by sharing why being at my heaviest weight has also meant being at my healthiest-spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I unpack how restrictive dieting and disordered eating once kept me trapped, and how Jesus called me out of diet culture and into freedom. Then, we turn to the powerful image of the sponge at the crucifixion, exploring its historical context, prophetic links to Passover, and how even the sour wine points us to the finished work of Christ. Together we’ll see how the enemy wants to keep us focused on our bodies and our weight, but how Jesus invites us to shift our gaze to His body, broken for us, and to the greater weight of His glory.

In this episode, I share a personal word the Lord gave me about reframing the thoughts we have about our bodies-specifically the nagging, familiar thought, “I’m so heavy, I need to lose weight.” I talk about how we can take these thoughts captive, submit them to Christ, and replace them with His truth! I also share a beautiful prophetic picture Holy Spirit gave me of a sponge-how being filled with His Spirit makes us grounded, useful, and overflowing to impact others. I also dive into 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 and Psalm 23, showing how scripture equips us to meditate on God’s provision, presence, and promise. This episode is Part 1 of a two-part series on the sponge, and I give a little teaser of what’s coming in Part 2, where we’ll explore the sponge at the crucifixion. If you’ve ever felt defined by your weight, struggled with body image, or wondered how to take thoughts captive and submit them to God, this episode is for you.
