Born Under the Law
Join Pastor Stuart for the second sermon in the series, One of Us. Today, we look at Galatians 4:4-5 to hear a message . . . "Born Under the Law". In this message, we are encouraged by the fact that Jesus, the Son of God, was born under the law for us. Being under the law, at the very least, includes the idea that we must meet the demand or face the penalty. Jesus met all the demands of God's law.   Those who trust in Jesus are freed from the law as law and adopted into God's family. So let's praise God for the gift of Jesus with our lips and with our lives.   You can learn more about Westminster Presbyterian Church at https://www.westminsterpca.net. The Mystery of the Incarnation
Join Pastor Stuart for the first sermon in the series, One of Us. Today, we look at John 1:1-14 to hear a message . . . "The Mystery of the Incarnation". In this message, we are encouraged to see the incarnation as a deeply profound and unfathomable mystery.   At the same time, we need to understand that the incarnation is foundational to knowing God and experiencing salvation. The appropriate response to the mystery of the incarnation is awestruck worship. So let’s earnestly ponder the reality of Jesus, God in the flesh, that we would worship and adore him.   You can learn more about Westminster Presbyterian Church at https://www.westminsterpca.net. Hope to be Shared
Join Pastor Stuart for the ninth and final lesson in our series, High Hopes. Today, we look at 1 Peter 3:13-16 to hear a message . . . "Hope to be Shared". In this message, we are encouraged to always be ready to explain our hope in Christ.  Here are some of the main points from the sermon: Being prepared begins and ends (and includes everything in-between) with Jesus. When we share our hope with others, we do so with gentleness and respect. We also want to make sure we have a good conscience when we give a reason for our hope. Let’s grow deeper in the hope we have in Christ and share that hope with others. You can learn more about Westminster Presbyterian Church at https://www.westminsterpca.net. Christ in You, the Hope of Glory
Join Pastor Stuart for the seventh lesson in our series, High Hopes. Today, we look at Colossians 1:24-27 to hear a message . . . "Christ in You, the Hope of Glory". In this message, we hear the following points: We are to find great encouragement in these seven words: Christ in you, the hope of glory. Christ dwells with and in his people by the Holy Spirit. The hope God promises in Christ is glory. Because Christ dwells in us by the Spirit, we who believe are guaranteed glory. In Hope of Eternal Life (Titus 1:1-4)
Join Pastor Stuart for the fifth lesson in our series, High Hopes. Today, we look at Titus 1:1-4 to hear a message . . . "In Hope of Eternal Life". Today, we are reminded that: The God who never lies has promised eternal life to those who trust in Jesus. The eternal life God promises is not simply about the quantity of life; it is also about the quality of life. The life God promises is the life of the age to come. Even though the full experience of this life is still to come, we who believe already have it. So let’s rejoice in the sure and certain hope of eternal life in Christ. Glorious Hope (Romans 5:1-5)
Join Pastor Stuart for the fourth lesson in our series, High Hopes. This week, we turn to Romans 5:1-5 to hear about . . . "Glorious Hope". Today, we are reminded that: Those who trust in Jesus have a glorious hope. This hope is grounded in God’s grace to us in Christ. Because of Jesus, we who believe have a right standing with God. Since we have this standing in Christ, we not only have peace with God, but we also have assurance of God’s ongoing, steadfast love for us. God’s love for us in Christ culminates in glory. This is why we can rejoice in hope even in suffering. So in all our circumstances, let’s rejoice in the sure and certain hope of glory we have in Christ. Good Life - Persecution for Following Christ (Matt 5:10-12)
Join Pastor Stuart for the last lesson in our series, The Good Life. This week, we turn to Matthew 5:10-12 to learn how . . . "The Good Life = Persecution for Following Christ". In this lesson, we learn: According to Jesus, those who are persecuted for following him have the good life. If we truly follow Jesus, we can expect some form of persecution. We experience God’s blessing in persecution in several ways: Persecution because of Jesus is part of our confirmation that we belong to him. Suffering refines the faith of those who belong to Jesus. The witness of the church is often strengthened through persecution. We are promised the kingdom. All of this shows us why we can rejoice and be glad when we are persecuted. So, let’s focus on Jesus knowing that nothing, not even persecution, can keep us from sharing in his glory. You can learn more about Westminster Presbyterian Church at https://www.westminsterpca.net.
