What happens when the year you’re celebrating is also the year you’re quietly grieving? In the podcast’s season finale, Kellie reflects on a year marked by unexpected growth, meaningful milestones, and moments that didn’t unfold as planned.
She celebrates what was accomplished—both personally and within the podcast’s global community—while also making space for the grief that can accompany unmet goals and unspoken expectations.
For the first time, Kellie opens up about her personal fertility journey and her desire to start a family. This episode is especially emotional and vulnerable, and she asks listeners to receive it with care. Rooted in reflection, honesty, and hope, the finale leans on gratitude and optimism, honoring what was, holding space for what is, and stepping into 2026with intention, courage, and belief in what’s still possible.
Joined by her best friend and licensed family therapist and clinician, Samantha Hardy, Kellie explores the difference between goals and expectations and how to navigate the grief that can arise when they don’t align.
Together, they share three practical, therapeutic tips for setting goals and intentions for the year ahead:
1. Use the miracle question from solution-focused therapy to focus on what would be different, rather than what’s wrong.
2. Set yourself up for success by identifying realistic constraints that could get in the way.
2. Get curious about the parts of yourself that resist change, with compassion rather than judgment.
This season marked a major milestone for the show, including a rebrand and Kellie’s sixth season as a podcast host. With a 120% increase in audience and over 130k minutes listened to this year, the podcast reached listeners worldwide!
WRAPPING UP 6 SEASONS AND 1ST YEAR OF “WHY NOT #DOBOTH” – HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What if the version of balance we’ve been chasing is actually holding us back and what if being rare is the very thing that makes you powerful? Women make up less than 10% of neurosurgeons in the U.S., yet Dr. Rupa Juthani stands in that rarity, proving that what sets you apart can become your greatest strength.
Kellie Sbrocchi sits down with Dr. Rupa, a fellowship-trained, board-certified neurosurgeon, researcher, educator, mom, and viral creator—to challenge everything we think we know about ambition, balance, and what’s possible when you refuse to choose.
From navigating doubt, stereotypes, and imposter syndrome to redefining balance as intentional—not perfect—Dr. Rupa shares how preparation, boundaries, and grace allow her to show up fully at work and at home. She also opens up about stepping into social media this year as a form of mentorship and representation, reminding us that it’s never too late to share your message.
This conversation is for powerful women in the middle of it all, latte in hand, proving every day that we can show up for ourselves and for others. If you’ve ever wondered whether you can pursue big dreams, live with intention, and still be present for what matters most, this is your reminder: you don’t have to choose.

If you go on Loren Coontz’s Instagram, you see a stylish blonde making time for fitness, friends, travel, cute outfits, and life in downtown San Diego. But there’s so much more beneath the surface. Loren embodies the depth, drive, and curiosity of young women today, figuring things out while striving to make more of their lives and have an impact on others. She could have done anything with her life, but she chose to serve as a U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps Officer.
In this episode, Loren vulnerably shares her journey from a hardworking blue-collar family in small-town Ohio to serving her country and building a global platform that inspires others. She shares the realities behind what you see online, her day-to-day responsibilities, the stress of being an officer, and the challenge of balancing caring for others while being kind to herself. She also talks about the leap it took to join the Navy and how that decision has transformed her life.
Loren discusses developing as a leader and blending the softness of her personality with the firmness required as a Naval officer. She also explains the Health Professionals Scholarship Program (HPSP) vs. the Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP), both of which fund medical students and come with service commitments but work differently and offer similar total value; the difference is how you get it. Loren shares practical tips for navigating these programs and pursuing a meaningful career while serving.
Her story is a testament to women who want to rise above circumstances, embrace leadership, and make a difference. Through transparency, humor, and insight, Loren shows that leadership and compassion can go hand in hand, inspiring others to embrace both service and self.

Need a little encouragement to walk boldly in your calling? This episode is for those walking in faith or anyone looking for an introduction to faith, prayer, and leaning into God while leading in real life.
Kellie sits down with 1LT Génécis Effa, a U.S. Army Reserve Chaplain Candidate, directly commissioned into the Chaplain Corps in 2021, pursuing her Master’s in Divinity at Pepperdine University, and serving in a Civil Affairs Battalion in Utah. She also works with the Department of the Army in Ordnance. Génécis is the founder of "Brunch with a Blessing," a program providing female service members with menstrual hygiene kits designed for field conditions. Her guiding mantras—“because I care, I serve” and “we are fearfully and wonderfully made”—inspire her work and leadership.
Kellie and Génécis dive into the power of faith during uncertain seasons, the courage it takes to walk into male-occupied spaces with grace, and the importance of building community among women in service. Génécis shares how "Brunch with a Blessing" grew from a simple desire to meet practical needs into a ministry reminding women they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
They also talk about daily ways to connect with God: from shower prayers to gratitude routines, letting faith overcome fear, handling criticism with compassion, trusting divine redirection, and redefining success as becoming who God created you to be.
This conversation feels like a warm hug, a reminder of your purpose, and a nudge to walk boldly in the direction God is calling you. If you’re navigating uncertainty, craving encouragement, or balancing big dreams with the demands of real life… this episode is for you.

A conversation for the girl who knows she’s capable of more—and is finally ready to stop playing small and start playing her own game. In this episode, Kellie sits down with Sydney Supple, former D1 softball star at Northwestern, sideline reporter, digital creator, and a woman who knows what it means to chase big dreams with discipline and heart. From winning three Big 10 titles to earning degrees from Medill and Syracuse, to reporting across Fox Sports, Big 10 Network, ESPN, ACC Network, and more, Sydney has built a career defined by preparation, passion, and purpose.
Sydney opens up about navigating a career in male-occupied spaces—from being underestimated to being called “honey” in professional settings—and how she learned to meet those moments with poise, preparation, and confidence. She shares the mindset her mom instilled early on: never let someone else’s doubt shrink your ambition.
Kellie and Sydney dive deep into the power of mentorship, the women who paved the way before her (like Jessica Mendoza and Lisa Byington!), and how asking intentional, thoughtful questions can change the trajectory of your career. They unpack what it really looks like to compete with yourself, build your circle of support, and keep showing up for the version of you you’re becoming.
This episode is your reminder that you’re allowed to take up space, ask for the opportunity, and believe in the version of you who’s already capable. Because once you combine preparation with purpose, you don’t just show up—you stand out.

Jen White: a woman proving that your 40s can be your most expansive, joyful, and self-defined chapter yet. Jen has spent more than 20 years in sales and sales enablement, much of it in tech, while simultaneously building a community of women who love her child-free, adventure-filled Chicago life. From keynote stages to content creation, she’s mastered the art of doing both with intention.
In this episode, Jen opens up about rewriting the rules for her life: choosing a path that reflects her values, leaning into authenticity, and creating content that makes women feel seen. She shares how learning to trust herself — in career pivots, creative decisions, and personal boundaries — completely changed the trajectory of her life. And she breaks down the moment she finally believed she was capable of taking the leap into full-time creation.
Jen’s journey is a reminder that reinvention isn’t just possible — it’s powerful. You’re allowed to pivot. You’re allowed to dream bigger at any age. You’re allowed to build a lifestyle that feels undeniably you.

We’ve all been given bad advice: the kind that makes you question everything, but later teaches you exactly who to listen to (and who not to). Kellie and Riley Tejcek open up about the worst “professional” advice they’ve ever received and how those moments shaped their confidence, their careers, and their ability to trust their instincts. From blunt warnings to stay off social media to being told what women “shouldn’t” do in uniform, they’re pulling back the curtain on the kind of guidance that could have derailed them, and how they learned to find their own voice instead.
Advice shapes you. Mentors shape you. But finding the right ones matters. Kellie and Riley talk about how to recognize good versus bad advice, why it’s important to seek multiple opinions, and how to use your spidey senses when something just feels off. This is a raw, transparent conversation about leadership, integrity, and trusting your inner compass, especially when the noise gets loud.Riley Tejcek is a Marine Corps Logistics Officer, former Division I softball player at George Washington University, and Team USA Bobsled athlete who was named Female Marine Corps Athlete of the Year in 2022. She’s also the current Ms. Military 2024 and author of the new children’s book If You Can Dream It, Be It — a heartfelt story about trailblazing, taking chances, and believing in the endless possibilities ahead.
Key takeaways:
Not all “professional” advice deserves to be followed
Trust your spidey senses — if it feels off, it probably is
Seek mentors who truly see your potential
Handling poor advice: take what serves you, leave the rest
Finding good advice: ask around, listen deeply, and follow your intuition

The challenge starts now, and it’s all about taking your confidence into your own hands and building the mindset that changes everything.

Each week, she gives tangible tips to add into your routine, helps you change the parts of your day that no longer serve you, and encourages you to make time to reflect on your growth along the way.

Five years ago—on October 24, 2020, at 5:30 PM—Austin got down on one knee at the beautiful El Matador Beach in Malibu, California, and completely changed my life. In honor of that unforgettable moment, I’m re-releasing one of my most popular episodes from my original show “MissUnderstood” for the very first Flash Back Friday (FBF) edition of Why Not Do Both- episode originally aired October 30, 2020.Austin & I got engaged that evening in what can only be described as a Bachelor-caliber proposal. He shocked me (and everyone else) with how stunning, thoughtful, and romantic it was—and honestly, I still can’t believe it happened. I essentially blacked out during it all. It was the most romantic moment of my life. Even though we’ve been married for several years now, that proposal will always be one of the most special days of my life.
It might sound controversial to say, but I still tell Austin that I was the happiest I’ve ever been that day—even more than on our wedding day—because I had never experienced that much pure joy in my entire life. And somehow, I love him even more now than I did standing on those cliffs, completely overwhelmed and so deeply happy.
In this episode, we’re sharing all the details! Did I know? Was I suspicious? How long did he have the ring? When did he know I was “the one”? (Selfishly, I wanted to know all of these questions too—but I saved them for the podcast!) We were absolutely on cloud nine and so grateful for everyone’s sweet messages and well wishes.
Tune in to relive that magical day with us, celebrate love, and kick off Flash Back Friday with one of my all-time favorite memories.
Xoxo,
Kellie

Why Not Do Both podcast’s Navy Week celebration continues! Kellie honors the U.S. Navy’s 250th birthday by bringing back one of her most popular Navy episodes from six seasons of podcasting, a timeless conversation first featured on MissUnderstood!
Remember, self-care isn’t selfish — it’s essential. Prioritizing yourself isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Practicing self-care fosters self-worth and confidence, reinforces the importance of your own needs, and builds resilience that carries you through the toughest days in uniform.
In this episode, fitness enthusiast, model, and active-duty Navy Lieutenant Jarred Reid-Dixon joins Kellie to share how proactively incorporating self-care into your military lifestyle can help you manage stress, maintain balance, and enhance overall effectiveness in your duties, both on deployment and ashore.
Jarred talks about integrating self-care practices into daily routines and encourages accountability by engaging in wellness activities with your peers — whether that’s working out together, attending mindfulness sessions, or finding group hobbies that build camaraderie and connection.
A 2017 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in economics, Jarred commissioned as a Supply Corps Officer before laterally transferring to the Public Affairs community. Since then, he’s served as Assistant Public Affairs Officer for Commander, Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet; Public Affairs Officer for the USS Makin Island (LHD 8), USS Anchorage (LPD 23), and USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26); and Director of Media Operations for San Francisco Fleet Week.
This episode captures why Kellie continues to #DoBoth, advocating for strength and self-care, leadership and balance, and how you can feel empowered to #DoBoth too.

In the next installment of "navy week," celebrating the Navy’s 250th birthday, Kellie is bringing back one of her most popular episodes from her six seasons of podcasting — originally aired on her first show, MissUnderstood.
One of Kellie’s biggest priorities in uniform has always been staying feminine and confident — whether on a ship or running around an office in boots, when “beautiful” is usually the last thing you feel. She believes boosting your personal morale is just as important as physical readiness, no matter where you’re serving in the fleet.
Starting back when she was a plebe (freshman) at the Naval Academy in 2010, Kellie looked for creative ways to feel feminine and girly in uniform while still maintaining military standards.
In this timeless episode, she shares 12 years’ worth of practical, morale-boosting tips in under 20 minutes so you can start feeling more confident now! From decorating your desk at the Academy, to colorful sneakers, good-smelling lotions, and nail colors that make you feel like you: it’s all about the little things that help you shine wherever you serve.
This episode captures exactly why Kellie continues to #DoBoth — embracing strength and femininity, service and self-expression — and why she’s so passionate about helping others feel empowered to #DoBoth, too.

In this heartfelt and candid discussion, Kellie and Jackie revisit their biggest shocks, hardest moments, and most meaningful takeaways from that strenuous eight-week rite of passage.
Plebe Summer serves as a crucial initiation for incoming freshmen at the U.S. Naval Academy, testing them mentally, physically, and emotionally while preparing them for the demanding academic and military environment that follows. Through discipline, teamwork, and resilience, plebes begin their transformation into future naval leaders—an experience both Kellie and Jackie reflect on with honesty, humor, and hard-earned wisdom.
