Winter is not the time for New Year's Resolutions—if that looks like taking action right now because we're "supposed to" even though we don't have the energy for it.
Statistics prove that Winter is not a Natural time to take massive action—23% of people give up on their resolutions within the first week and 88% by the second week.
Winter is, however, a very Natural time to attune to what Love is asking of you, to nourish yourself and let it root down into you, and to let your energy pool inside of you as it will naturally pick back up with the returning Light over the next 6 weeks.
This is the Natural time to rest and dream, to reimagine your life, to recreate yourself from the inside out. Nature is doing a lot of growth right now, but it's largely invisible, happening in the dark of the soil.
This is what's Natural for us to do right now too, and this episode will help you to do that.
Whether you're listening to this episode at the 2026 New Year or in the future, remember... You really do have permission to renegotiate the terms of your life and to reinvent your life, or any section of it, at any time.

In this Winter conversation, I'm joined by Christian Rasmussen, founder of Amentara (formerly MN Nice Botanicals), whose work with Amanita muscaria has impacted thousands of people around the world. If you’ve followed my podcast for a while, you know I rarely bring guests on—even though I receive constant pitches. I said an instant yes to this interview because I already knew Christian’s work, and I’ve actually been purchasing Amanita from his website for the last few years. His company was recommended to me originally by Amanita Dreamer, whose research guided my earliest explorations with this mushroom.
Amanita muscaria—also known as fly-agaric—is the “other” psychedelic mushroom. It is legal, ancient, and culturally famous (yes, the Mario mushroom emoji 🍄).
And it is deeply connected to the Winter season, the Yule mythos, and the origins of Santa Claus as a psychedelic shamanic figure.
Christian’s mission is to create a safe and healing bridge between humans, plants, fungi, and spirit—and to teach others how to cross it. In this episode, we explore the science, the history, the lore, and the lived, embodied experience of working with this mushroom.
We explore...
And at the end, I'm reading out loud for you a journal entry of what I felt on a microdose, so you can get a feel for the way it might speak to you too.Mentioned in this episode:

This episode is a recording of our recent women’s circle gathering on Sacred Wintering and the Twelve Holy Nights, and it was truly beautiful—deep, grounded, accessible, and full of wisdom for the season we’re entering.
For centuries across European, Germanic, and Christian-mystic lineages, the Twelve Holy Nights have marked a threshold in time: the Year Between Years.
These nights begin on December 25 and carry us through January 6, honoring the liminal space when the sun’s return becomes visible and intuition feels naturally heightened.
I invited Lisa Jara to teach with me, because she guides this practice every year with a devotion and clarity I deeply respect.
Lisa and I first connected through a membership of intuitive and anti-capitalist entrepreneurs, and our friendship grew quickly through long WhatsApp voice notes about the people we serve, the work we love, and the ways cyclicality shapes our lives.
I’ve practiced the Twelve Holy Nights on my own for the last two years—well, actually, with my husband and daughter and I love that it can be done with others!—and it has become one of my favorite ways to enter Winter with intention rather than resistance.
Inside this session, we explored:
What it means to like our lives, including how we can learn to like Winter
How to proactively surrender to Winter instead of waiting for a “forced winter” through burnout, grief, or crisis
Why so many of us stopped naturally wintering—and how capitalism shaped that
How Winter restores self-trust and reconnects us with our inner wisdom
A generous teaching from Lisa on the cosmology, history, and practice of the Twelve Holy Nights
How each Holy Night mirrors a month of the coming year
How to work with dreams, symbols, signs, and synchronicities
An imaginative visioning practice to help you enter the season more intentionally
This conversation is for anyone longing for slowness, clarity, ritual, or a more embodied relationship with Winter. It’s also for anyone who wants to practice the Twelve Holy Nights this year in a simple, grounded, and meaningful way.

Yule marks the Winter Solstice and is typically a 12 day celebration filled with gratitude and generosity, starting on Dec 21 and going through the end of December.
It's a celebration of the rebirth of the Light, after we pass the shortest day and longest night of the year. It’s a time where winter is modeling sacred rest, stillness, reflection, and resilience.
Because of the discrepancy between the lunar calendar (354 days) and the solar calendar (365.25 days), lunar-based cultures consider these "extra 12 days" to be mythic time, time outside of time, where the ordinary rules of life are suspended and the veil between worlds is thin.
Did you know?
The idea that Santa Claus has shamanic roots tied to psychedelics comes from interpretations of Siberian and Arctic shamanic traditions. This theory proposes that many elements of the Santa Claus story—his appearance, behavior, and even the flying reindeer—may be influenced by shamanic practices, particularly those involving the Amanita muscaria mushroom.
Even though the exact date is December 21, we can celebrate this whole season.

As we near the end of the year, it’s easy to focus on the goals we didn’t meet or the dreams that haven’t yet come true. But what if we paused to witness what did happen? What if we looked at this year—and ourselves—through the eyes of love?
This episode is a recording of our Self-Gratitude Circle, a beautiful live gathering inside the Wild Wellness Women's Circle where we reflected not only on peak achievements but on persistence, resilience, and the subtle moments of growth that often go unnoticed.
Inside, we explore:
Why our brains fixate on our gaps—the distance between where we are now and where we want to be—instead of our gains—the distance between where we are now and where we used to be
How withholding praise from ourselves actually stunts real growth
What to do with the grief of unfulfilled goals
How to identify our Very Good Reasons for the things we did not do this year
Ways to honor the Intelligence behind resistance, pause, and rest
What it looks like to truly celebrate your inner Persistence
And a guided practice to uncover all the things you did this year that you forgot about
This circle isn’t just for listening—it’s for feeling, remembering, and honoring the fullness of your year.

Free Guide: How to Work With The Celtic Reed MoonIn this episode, I'm introducing you to the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar. With 13 trees for 13 moons, it's rooted in earth- based animistic Celtic tradition that offers a slower, simpler, more ancestral rhythm than Western astrology.
After attuning to the Moon with Western astrology for many years, I still appreciate it, but I realized it's something my grandmothers would have had no concept of.
"What would my grandmothers have done?" is a question I find myself asking a lot lately, including how they would've attuned to the Moon and their Intuition.
If Western astrology feels overwhelming, rigid, flat, or disconnected, the Tree Calendar offers a return to ancestral knowing—one that honors your inner timing, the seasons of your life, and the natural intelligence of the earth.
You’ll hear how this ancient way of tracking time transformed my spiritual practice after a life-changing pilgrimage to the British Isles, how it connects with my maternal lineage (and maybe yours too!) and why it feels more grounding, intuitive, and emotionally resonant for me than following the constantly shifting zodiac.
I'll walk you month-by-month through what I've learned since starting to follow it in July: the teachings of the Holly, Hazel, Vine, and Ivy moons, while weaving in stories of my own and my clients'—including devotion in caregiving, intuition finding you when you haven’t found it, the loving art of concealment, and the myth of limitless resilience.
I'm also introducing the next lunar cycle that starts Nov 19—the Reed Moon (the Clarity Moon)—and explaining why Winter naturally brings sharper vision, deeper dreaming, and the perfect conditions for divination.
If you’ve been craving a spiritual path that feels simpler, slower, earth-rooted, and ancestral… you will love this episode.
Press play to hear:
What the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar actually is and how it developed through Celtic animist worldview
Why I left Western astrology as my primary lunar practice, and how I still weave astrology in gently
How my British Isles pilgrimage awakened my connection to my maternal lineage
Why the tree calendar feels like “home”—and why it resonates so deeply for modern women
How Holly taught devotion through a powerful client story about caregiving
How Hazel revealed intuition through Celtic mythology and the question, “What if you don’t access your intuition—what if your intuition accesses you?”
How Vine teaches truth and timing, including the story of loving concealment
How Ivy teaches resilience through resourcing and relationship, especially with the Unseen world
Why winter clarity is real, both spiritually and scientifically
What the Reed Moon (the Clarity Moon) is all about as we enter this next lunar cycle
A peek at all the upcoming trees in the remaining months of the Celtic year
This episode is an invitation to reconnect with the rhythms our grandmothers lived by.
To follow these teachings month by month, I send out weekly emails in rhythm with the current tree’s lessons—all for free.

You don’t have to earn your Intuition. You don’t have to perform spirituality. And you definitely don’t have to be “consistent” to be Loved or Guided.
In this episode, we’re dismantling the myth that spiritual growth requires discipline—and exploring the deeper truth that while Love doesn’t require devotion, devotion magnifies Love.
You’ll hear me share how my own intuition practice evolved over time: from rigid daily routines and spiritual guilt to a fluid, Love-led rhythm that feels alive and sustainable. I’ll tell personal stories—from when I was a pastor working with postpartum moms, to moments in my women’s circle, to the way I now approach my own daily connection with Spirit.
If you’ve ever:
Felt guilty for “falling off” your practice or not being consistent enough
Longed to feel closer to your Intuition but didn’t know where to begin
Confused structure with intimacy or discipline with devotion
Needed permission to rest, pause, or reconnect in your own way
—then this episode will feel like a deep exhale.
You’ll walk away understanding:
The real difference between discipline and devotion
How to build a relationship with your Intuition that’s based on Love, not obligation
Why consistency doesn’t mean doing the same thing every day
How to recognize when Love is already speaking to you through ordinary life
How to release guilt and respond to the invitation of devotion when it arises
Whether you’re in a quiet winter of the soul or a season of blooming creativity, this conversation will remind you that Love hasn’t gone anywhere.
Love doesn’t need your discipline—but it delights in your attention.

Our circadian rhythms are all thrown off right now with Daylight Savings Time (not because of Nature but because of our silly illusions about time lol.)
I used to feel low like this all the time too, until I learned these tips I'm going to share.
There are some specific cues from our external environment that "train" our circadian rhythm: light, food, sleep, temperature, and location. Aren't our bodies are so brilliantly adaptive?!

Without any contact through space and time that we know of, the ancient Celts in Ireland and the ancient Aztecs in Mexico, along with other cultures through the world, have all believed that this midpoint between Autumn and Winter is a time when the veil between worlds is its thinnest and that ancestors and faeries can come pay us visits.
Even though the exact date is October 31, we can celebrate this whole season.

September 29 is Michaelmas, a day rooted in Celtic harvest traditions that was later woven into the Christian church calendar. As we move deeper into autumn, you might already intuitively and naturally feel the invitation to release, reflect, and reckon—spiritually, emotionally, even financially. That’s no coincidence. It was originally a pagan day used for settling debts, honoring harvest cycles, and marking seasonal transitions, but it became associated with the archangel Michael.

Mabon marks the Autumn Equinox and the second harvest of the year in the Wheel of the Year. It’s a time when day and night are equal length, symbolizing balance and harmony. Referred to as the "Witches' Thanksgiving," it’s a time to give thanks for the harvest and the abundance in our lives. As the days grow shorter, we reflect on the year so far and prepare for the coming winter months.
Did you know? Mabon celebrates the story of Demeter, goddess of grain, agriculture, and fertility, and her daughter Persephone. When Hades abducts Persephone and forces her to marry him in the underworld, Demeter causes the Earth to go barren. Zeus negotiates with Hades to allow Persephone to be free for half the year, so Demeter only allows abundance on Earth half the year.Even though the exact date of the equinox is September 22, we can celebrate this whole season.

If the Earth were a Person, how would you describe what they are like, and how would you describe your relationship with them?
I was brought up in a religion that taught me that nature is something separate from us and subservient to us.
It’s alive in a sense, but definitely not conscious. I was taught that it’s impersonal, and it definitely didn’t have a soul or spirit.
It’s beautiful, sure, but it’s mainly a utility that exists to resource humans. It’s here to be the support system and backdrop to the most important existence of humans.
Basically, it’s inanimate.
But in the last couple of years, especially after my first psychedelic experience, I see things completely differently.
Throughout most of human history, human beings believed in animism, and it doesn’t contradict religion (or, it doesn’t have to.)
Animism is the belief that everything in Nature is alive and has a spirit or consciousness—not just humans and animals, but also trees, rivers, rocks, mountains, and even weather systems.
It’s one of the oldest belief systems in the world and is found in many Indigenous and earth-based traditions.
Animism teaches that the world is made up of relationships - that we’re in constant dialogue with the more-than-human world, and that everything is interconnected and deserving of respect.
