The Appalachian Trail: Hunting Grounds

while there have been incidents of violence along the Appalachian Trail, it is essential to remember that they are relatively rare compared to the vast number of hikers who complete the trail without facing such issues.

Here are a few notable incidents:

  1. The 1981 Murders: One of the most infamous cases occurred in 1981 when two women, Rebecca Wight and Claudia Brenner, were shot while camping along the trail in Virginia. Wight was killed, and Brenner survived. The perpetrator, Stephen Roy Carr, was arrested and later convicted for the murders.

  2. The 1996 Murders: In 1996, two hikers, Julianne Williams and Laura Winans, were found dead in their tent near the trail in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Their murders remain unsolved.

  3. The 2011 Attack: In 2011, a hiker named Scott Lilly was attacked and killed while hiking the Appalachian Trail in Virginia. The attacker, Randall Lee Smith, also injured two other hikers before being apprehended.

  4. Other Incidents: There have been several reports of assaults, robberies, and attempted attacks along the trail over the years. However, the vast majority of hikers complete the trail safely and without incident.

It's important to recognize that while these incidents are troubling, they represent a small fraction of the overall trail experience. Millions of people hike the Appalachian Trail each year, and for the most part, it remains a safe and enjoyable adventure for those who undertake it.

To ensure your safety while hiking the Appalachian Trail or any other backcountry area, it's essential to be well-prepared, hike with a partner or group if possible, inform someone of your plans and expected return date, carry essential safety gear, and be aware of your surroundings. Always follow the guidelines provided by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and other trail organizations to minimize risks and make the most of your hiking experience.

Lil Reese: Unmasking the Chiraq Grim Reaper

Back with the real, you know the deal. Today we’re going to tell a tale of the mythical creature, the Chiraq savage who feeds on the souls of his opps, the man that beats death. I’m talking bout the one and only, Chiraq Grim Reaper, the invincible, Lil Reese.
The only man who sets the timer on an opps life by mentioning them in a tweet. The man who gets shot in the neck, still gets out his car and saves himself. The man who lost his voice, got it back, and now may be blind in one eye, after coming in contact with a bullet. Reese is a Chiraq legend, that has earned his name as the Grim Reaper. Today, we’re going to learn why he’s so feared and how he continues to cheat death with impossible odds against him.
Lil Reese came up on the Southside of Chicago, in the infamous Calument projects, opposite to O Block where his father was from. He would move to the Lamron, 300 area, from where his mother is from, where he has been since. The street is home to many popular Chicago rappers as we’d soon see and its name comes from the original street name, Normal, spelt backwards.

Young Dolph: Paper Route Empire Standing On Business

A man who was named by police as a person of interest in the 2021 murder of rapper/music exec, Young Dolph, has been killed. Allegedly, family members identified Joshua Taylor as the victim of a fatal sh*oting in the city on Wednesday afternoon. Taylor, who reportedly went by the alias CEO Teezy was named as a person of interest in the Dolph murder case in February 2022 and according to the report he was wanted on a number of other charges including theft of property upwards of sixty thousand dollars and possession of a prohibited weapon. News reported that Taylor was found shot to death inside a car, and that he was thought to have been a friend of Justin Johnson, one of the two alleged shooters who’ve been charged in Dolph’s killing. Police never charged Taylor directly in the killing and he had not been mentioned in the case, though investigators reportedly wanted to find out if Taylor knew where Johnson was on the day of Dolph’s killing, or if he knew anything about the murder. Dolph, born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., was gunned down while shopping at Makeda’s Cookies near his childhood home in Memphis, in November of 2021. Jermarcus Johnson, 26, pleaded guilty to three counts of accessory after the fact, after officials said he helped two other men during the daytime ambush. Johnson was the first of four defendants to plead guilty or be convicted in Dolph shooting.

Who is 1090 Jake?
1090 Jake has found a way to turn his tragedy into triumph through telling his real-life story of being incarcerated at the age of 18 with 19 Felony Charges. Blowing up through his End Of Sentence YouTube Channel, 1090 Jake has amassed over nine hundred fifty two thousand Subscribers and over 200 million views worldwide, in less than two years. Known as a “six-figure felon,” 1090 Jake has found a way to become his own boss bringing in over 6 figures annually. Born in Malden Massachusetts, then raised in Tampa Florida, 1090Jake was arrested in the Sulpher Springs neighborhood of North Tampa for carrying a concealed firearm. When the DA added additional charges, 1090 Jake was hit with a total of 19 Felonies, one of which was punishable by life in the State of Florida. Eventually, he would be convicted of 4 Felonies after a plea deal and sentenced to 36 months in Florida State Prison. On his channel End Of Sentence, 1090Jake relives his prison experience describing the gang wars, gladiator-like violence, and abuse by staff. Jake’s unfiltered approach to storytelling has captivated thousands and the viciousness behind his stories kept many hooked to his YouTube channel. 1090 Jake proudly displays a mugshot of himself at 19 years old with a fresh 7-inch slash down his face from when he was attacked with a razor. Being the only photo that exists of him at 19, this image alone captures the reality of prison, and what 1090 Jake went through to survive. Serving time in the Youth Offender prisons from 14-24, he’d been slashed, stabbed, and had his head split with a brick in a canteen bag all within his first year, but the violence was never one-sided. In 1090 Jake’s first interview he describes slashing the throat of a rival gang member, in the same cell as his, in confinement. Eventually being transferred to an adult prison after a massive gang transfer, 1090 Jake was able to earn his high school diploma only 2 weeks before his release. Moving back to Massachusetts, he had no choice but to start from the ground up, rebuilding his life in Boston. Struggling to find work, Jake was arrested again in July of 2016, exactly 1 year after his release, for Armed Assault with intent to rob, and Assault with a firearm. 1090 Jake would find himself on probation for the next 2 years, and in May of 2019 he took a leap of faith and started his YouTube Channel without any idea of exactly how many people would relate to his life story. 1090 Jake has used his platform to not only share his story but also the story of others he’s met inside of prison, both dead and alive, giving a voice to those who can’t be heard. Applying a convict’s way of researching court paperwork, he has adapted to a style of narrating while covering criminal cases in the Hip Hop community and major crime cases around the country, not only diversifying his content but showing his progression as a content creator. With the craziness of 2023, it doesn’t seem 1090 Jake will be lacking in content anytime soon.
