In this enlightening episode, we talk with author Steve Wilson. Steve has endured a childhood where he encountered sexual abuse and adulthood with bi-polar disorder. He shares his story, what it took to overcome his challenges, what he and his parents may have done differently and what he recommends for parents now.
For those who haven't experienced these challenges, you don't and can't ever know exactly what it's like, but Steve gives you a good idea how it impacted him and can impact others.
It certainly gives us more to think about when we encounter someone who may be misbehaving or struggling themselves. What traumas are they encountering that we don't know about? Why can't we be more understanding? Why can't we ask the right questions?
