1. New details about the arrest of one of the Slender Man attackers. Morgan Geyser was arrested in Posen, Illinois last night, after investigators say she cut off her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet and left the group home where she had been placed. Now police in Posen are revealing how they found Geyser and what she said when they did. Investigators say Posen officers were dispatched to a truck stop for a man and woman who were loitering behind the building. When officers arrived at the truck stop, they found Geyser and a man sleeping on the sidewalk. They say Geyser repeatedly refused to provide her real name and initially gave a false one. Eventually she said she didn’t want to tell officers who she was because she had “done something really bad.” Geyser suggested that officers “just Google” her name. Once she provided her true identity, officers confirmed the woman was indeed Geyser. She and the man were taken into custody without incident. 2. Public health experts have already warned of a worse-than-usual flu season this year and an unexpected influenza variant is raising new red flags. The virus acquired several genetic mutations after this year's seasonal flu vaccine was formulated...the mutations are genetically distinct from the vaccine's target strain which has already been developed. While the current flu vaccine may not be a perfect match, early data from the UK suggests it is still effective at preventing severe illness and hospitalization (around 70-75% effective in children and 30-40% in adults). Health experts strongly recommend vaccination as the best defense.

Celebrities Warming Up to AI
ABC News Correspondent Jim Ryan talks about how some of the country’s best-known actors have signed on with start-up tech company ElevenLabs to license their voices, or AI-generated facsimiles of their voices, to advertisers, filmmakers and gaming companies. Front and center is Matthew McConaughey, whose improvised catchphrase “Alright, alright, alright” in the 1993 movie Dazed and Confused has made him instantly recognizable to generations. McConaughey has gone a step beyond by using his ElevenLabs clone to translate his popular podcast to Spanish in his own voice, complete with Texas drawl.

1. Slender Man attacker Morgan Geyser was arrested in Posen, Illinois last night after investigators say she cut off her ankle-monitoring bracelet Saturday night and left the group home where she had been placed. Her disappearance prompted both Geyser's family and the victim's family to speak out. Geyser was found in Posen, Illinois with a 42-year-old man. He was also taken into custody. ABC News reports Geyser has since been brought back to the group home where she was staying. 2. Dominance in Green Bay as the Packers earn a convincing 23-6 win over the Vikings. The Packers defense held the Vikings to -1 yard in the second half, just a miserable day for Minnesota. Nothing easy about two games in four days, however, the Packers have a significant challenge Thursday in Detroit for a noon kick against the 7 and 4 Lions. Both teams are one game back of the Bears in the win column for first place in the NFC North. About that schedule, the Packers have the 7-4 Lions on Thursday, the 8-3 Bears the following weekend. Then a trip to Denver to face the Broncos who are currently 9-2. Then the Bears again, followed by the Ravens who have won 5 straight. 3. Anti-smoking advocates are concerned about a Hollywood trend; cigarettes.

It was a unanimous vote by the Board of Directors. Bender had been serving as Kohl’s interim CEO since May when Kohl’s fired Ashely Buchanan due to a “conflict of interest.” Buchanan was Kohl’s CEO for just four months. Naming Bender to the role permanently is a step to move past its leadership scandal. Bender has three decades of leadership experience across retail and consumer goods companies. Kohl’s has struggled in recent years. Sales are down and it is trying to make a comeback. Kohl’s will announce its third quarter earnings tomorrow.

1. Flags are flying at half-staff in Wisconsin today to recognize the fourth anniversary of the Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy. Six people were killed, dozens more were hurt, and spectators were shocked when Darrell Brooks Jr. drove his SUV into the parade. In a little more than two hours now, there’s a remembrance ceremony in Waukesha’s Grede Park. It starts at 4:39 PM, the exact time the Christmas parade attack began. The community will gather to honor the lives lost and support those who are still suffering. The ceremony also includes the dedication of the final sculpture in the park. Today's remembrance ceremony starts at 4:39 in Waukesha's Grede Park, that's the exact time the Christmas parade attack began. 2. The FAA will give bonuses to air traffic controllers and technicians who had perfect attendance during the government shutdown. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says 776 employees will get the 10-thosuand-dollar bonuses. 20-thousand other workers called out sick during the shutdown, because they couldn’t afford the gas to get to work or couldn’t afford childcare. President Trump has suggested controllers who missed work should have their pay docked, but the FAA hasn’t said anything about that.

Three Big Things - 11/21
1. A CDC website update is raising concerns about misinformation. The site now says, the claim 'vaccines do not cause autism', is not an evidence-based claim, because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism. The website used to state, studies have shown that there is no link between receiving vaccines and developing autism spectrum disorders. Today, major medical group including the American Academy of Pediatrics are pushing back on the changes. 2. The U.S. Coast Guard is engaging in pushback following a week of controversy. A newly published policy released earlier this week seemed to suggest that it was doing away with classifying some extremely offensive symbols as hate, including swastikas and nooses. The memo comes as the military at times has struggled with combatting extremism among service members. A 2020 Pentagon report found that while extremist views were not widespread in the military, the issue was still urgent due to the ability of people with military experience to carry out “high-impact events.” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has dismissed the idea of there being an issue with extremism in the military. 3. The holiday travel season starts today. Tens of millions of people are expected to pack into cars and airplanes for Thanksgiving. Some good news if you're driving, gas prices are hovering around the lowest holiday level since the pandemic in 2020. The average for a gallon of regular is $2.78 in Wisconsin today. Some additional good news, renting a car this Thanksgiving is 15% cheaper than last year, according to AAA.

Thanksgiving Travel Starts Today
ABC News Correspondent Jim Ryan talks about how weeks after the major U.S. airlines were hobbled by a shutdown of the federal government, expectations are running high for the Thanksgiving travel period that begins Friday. Trade group Airlines for America projects an all-time high 31-million passengers will climb aboard between November 21st and December 1st. Far more Americans, however, will make their holiday trips by car, truck or SUV.

The local woman accused of beating her mother Carrie Zettel to death, Lauren Spors, has been ruled incompetent to stand trial. 3. The major stock markets opened slightly this morning, following yesterday's big swing in prices. Solid earnings by AI chipmaker Nvidia sent stocks surging, but the markets ended up closing in the red, over concerns about a Fed rate cut soon. Today, we learned that Amazon, one of the Magnificent Seven, cut thousands of engineers in its record layoffs. The company announced last month that it would let more than 14 thousand people go. And while the cuts touched almost every piece of the company's business, we now know engineers bore the brunt of the cuts. They made up nearly 40 percent of Amazon's layoffs.
